Ready to hit African dirt roads 🇿🇦 [S5 - Eps. 3]

  • In this episode I tried to register my new Honda CRF250L that I bought in South Africa on my name. This is not easy as a foreigner and unfortunately it didn't work. But, the guys at Fire it Up motorcycles helped me out and got me a cross country permit so that I can take the bike to the neighbouring countries of South Africa if I want to, and if the borders are open. They also sorted me out with the accessories that I needed, so this bike got ready in no-time! It's time for Africa!!

    Took my old BMW in for its last MOT before classic status and while there and oldish man 70ish was talking to me outside. He looked at me a couple times and then said “itchy boots” i was like what no and then remembered I was wearing my new scarf. I felt quite proud. Go girl. Half the UK is watching you 👍👍👍

    UBUNTU
    ubuntu means "I am, because you are". In fact, the word ubuntu is just part of the Zulu phrase "Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu", which literally means that a person is a person through other people. ... Ubuntu is that nebulous concept of common humanity, oneness: humanity, you and me both.
    Perfect because you bring us all together here to enjoy your adventures; we are because you are. 💚

    Hi Noraly. I noticed loads of folks in the comments, both on this video and the previous 2 episodes, talking extremely negatively about SA, and particularly about how dangerous our country is. I am here to say, that although their might be some truth to that, but on the whole south Africa not what they make or think it is. Yes you cannot leave your guard down, like leaving personal items on your bike, when in certain parts of the country, but on the whole it's no different from most other countries. I think in your past travels, you have been to much "worst" places, than SA in that regard. This country is very rich and diverse and has the most amazing, exciting, unique, adventurous people, places, fauna and flaura, food, roads, weather, sceneries, etc, etc to offer. I think you get my point.....just keep your guard up, and you will have one of your most memorable trips. Maybe as a rule, don't travel near townships, squatters, etc. I would say over 90% of the people in my beautiful country are accommodating, helpful and friendly. I wish you all the best in our beautiful country and welcome to the most Southern part of Africa. it is gonna take your breath away.

      @@ItchyBoots Afrika is amazing and people are mostly extremly friendly, especially the poorest. I love Afrika but as a young attractive girl i would never ever doing this alone. I've travelled in South Africa. I only met friendly people. I've travelled in America and felt more threatened there. Every country poses risks, in every country you need to be careful, but not fearful. Keep an open heart and an open mind, stay alert and be aware of risks. Enjoy.

    • @kranzonguam
      @kranzonguam 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Uhuru means "freedom" in Swahili. Roddenberry feminized it with the ending a sound.
      In her book Nichols (the actress who played Uhura) states that the name was inspired by her having had with her a copy of the book Uhuru on the day she read for the part.

    Hi Noraly, we own a guesthouse in the Klein Karoo, the mini "desert" that forms part of the Western Cape, we are about 3-4 hours ride from Cape Town and about 2ish hours from George/Mosselbay. There are tons of dirt roads out here and endless mountains, some really beautiful and spectacular road trips to be made around this area and many beautiful countryside towns to visit and explore. I would like to make you the offer of coming and staying here with us for a couple of days and exploring this harsh but beautiful environment we call home (on the house ofcourse). We even have safe lockup space for your trusty travel companion. Let me know if you are interested and ill post you the guest houses info. Kind regards, ride safe and take care. Andre.

      siddharath cheema oh come on! Have you seen the amount of comments she has? Is kind a hard to keep track of all , is overwhelming. Is not betraying, she is just doing her job, which is producing interesting content that you and I are willing to watch in our scarce free time. I’m ready to bet that she is not getting millionaire, and all she gets she reinvest in her project.
      She is a entrepreneur, and a very brave one, she is on a budget and she take advantage of any saving she can make.
      Is too easy for people like us to judge from behind a screen in our comfortable sofa.
