- Matt Neal has had one of the best careers in BTCC history. However, toward the end of his career, he fell out of love with the sport. It took a while before he gave historic racing a go, but after his first Goodwood Revival experience, he got it. This is just part of the story of how Team Dynamics came to be. A company that preps and builds a whole host of modern and historic racing cars as well as being one of the most important wheel suppliers in motorsport.
Sit back, grab a cup of tea and listen to the fascinating full story.

brilliant vid, been watching Matt in BTCC since 92 and over the years have loved him, hated him then loved him. Great to see how diverse TD have become. Now i love watching him in the tinas.
The panel gaps on those Cortina are way better than they were new.
@@gavinivers8941 Give them 3 laps, back to normal🙂
Cool to see Matt still active with BTCC.
Awesome video. I am currently restoring a genuine Mitsubishi Mirage cup car, The only one to be verified from the 1988 Jackie Chan trophy cup race, #15 driven by Dieter Quester. One day i hope to have a shop even half this size doing this exact kind of work. For now i am just thankful to have my small, dark, single car garage and my own piece of automotive history to bring back to life.
One of the best TH-cam videos I have watched. Anyone wants a quick in site to a successful racing team and how hard it is watch this!
Fantastic vid I done my apprenticeship at Ford on Escorts,Cortina's,Capri's & Granada's etc loved working on them
Horrible rock music !! Is it necessary ?
Got to admit I really really really miss the auld days with, JP ,flash, Matt the funs not there!!
Superb video, perfect person to feature!
Matts a great guy, a proper champion
Entirely with Matt on the historics - spent the last weekend at Donington Park with the Masters Historic Racing package with their pre-85 Formula One series, and it was a blast.
Preaching to the choir here i know, but if you've not been to a historic race weekend, i urge you to go.
I remember Matt's dad Steve at Oulton Pk in 1967 telling one Guy Edwards after a little "coming together" in the saloon race;-"Don't worry son, you'll get used to it if you do any more"!!
Guy Edwards,of course went on to be known as "Mr Sponsorship" & a career in international sports car racing & F1.
Stunning cars.... Those old school Fords were my kind of thing. The Carpi and RS2000... Had a couple of Capri's, had 3 MK2's, but the RS was always outta reach unfortunately.. I bet Matt loves throwing those around.. I know i would... 300+ podiums, wow,, That's some career.. A job very well done..
Loved watching Matt in the early days of the Mondeo, mixing it with the big teams and winning. Great times.
There's is no way, i randomly found this on my recommendation page, and I own Matt neals btcc hat for team dynamics it's in all black, says team dynamics british touring car championship on the front and matt neal on the back
Wasn’t a great fan of Matt when he was racing but massive respect for him now 👍 Great driver and worked hard in difficult circumstances against big teams in BTCC racing, great commercial and marketing with Team Dynamics, I did buy some of his wheels for second hand and had them modified to suit Mk2 Escort. Great documentary video👍Saw him at Goodwood Revival along with other great BTCC drivers, Plato etc. keep going Matt you have a new fan😉
A great video, I have meet his whole family, a real down to Earth Guy.
That was superb, thank you!
Absolutely brilliant insight into the team/operation. I had the pleasure of meeting Barry P back when they were running the FN2 Civics and I was writing for the specialist Japanese car mags and doing some freelancing for Honda...one of the most genuine and friendly people I ever met in the industry! Wonder who owns that DC2 Integra that was in the background? 🤔
Absolutely brilliant vid this.
Great video Matt, always been a fan of yours since your independent drives in the Nissan. A fellow Worcestershire guy really having a go. Glad you're still doing well.👍
Thanks for this great video, I really do respect Matt 🙏
Yes me also (from ‘92) along with his dastardly nemesis Jason Plato! 😁👍🇬🇧
As a casual observer you just couldn't understand the difference between modern touring motor sport and most people in historics.
Matt and Jason were the last of the drivers to arrive that made an impact. ( Not just in other cars)😂
Racing something that is representative of what a manufacturer produces is what touring cars were during the high times, they lost their way 12-15 years ago, Shame
Brilliant see Matt still well involved. But suppose being family owned and ran team dynamics was inevitable. Hope see some classic 90s cars back racing. Matt & Plato all over again. My 2 fav drivers of btcc. Had a few type r civics, so obviously followed team dynamics in btcc.
Since plato hit the scene in the Renault Laguna had a love for him to 👍 rather at odds many times my fav 2 drivers. But made all the more special times 😘
sure wish they were still in the BTCC, but man I'm glad they're still doing great as a company
Excellent video
I'll bet the people who bought Rimstock off you were thrilled to bits that you started up doing wheels again! 🤔
I live in Spalding, Lincolnshire. Didn't our local company Neil Brown Engineering do the engines for the Honda's?
I want to come and do historic racing, but it seems that privateers will have no luck even in Goodwood.
nice 🤛🏻💯💪🏻
Lets not talk about panel lengths on the Nissan right ?? :D best success for the future.
You gotta love a bit of Victor Lee.. geeza beat the works Bmw Prodrive team
You try doing that and see how far ya get 😂
Interesting fact Vic Lees engine builder of his BTCC winning BMW’s has a car in Neals workshop still
he sure knows how to ruin an endurance race in Australia!!
thought he might have gone into business with his best mate plato
Your trophies deserve better.
I'm going out on a limb did you know Ken Block
Different reasons.........😂
I never supported Neal when he was driving in Honda vehicles, racing against real cars. And here he is waxing lyrical about Hyundai, FFS, what is wrong with him? This will be the very first video, from Goodwood Revival, that I'm not going to finish.

Real cars? You mean like Ford, the American company, or SEAT the Spanish company? Get a grip, all cars are real, on the basis that they do in fact exist.
Honda not real??? 😢
