Why can't we recreate that now? No rules, no limits. The improvements in safety since are light years ahead, and it could be by design to force new safety developments. Racing could be raw and interesting and a worldwide phenomenon at a whole new level all over again.
IMHO restomods are the Pinnacle of car enthousiasm. Combining the best of various eras, styles, and features, while investing an illogical amount of money and dedication to get the result 😊
In 1990 I joined the Navy and was stationed in Japan. I was big into cars (first Skyline I owned was in 1992), but had never heard of WRC or even F1. Japanese TV played them in real time, mostly in the middle of the night, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Thanks to DVRs I can get regular sleep now.
Lancia Delta Integrale is one of the greatest cars ever made, a legend in the full sense of the word. Wonderful to have it in the garage and have the opportunity to enjoy it.
Every Henry review is a learning experience packed with in depth technical facts and hidden gems of fun facts. Combined with amazing videography makes Henry's reviews since day 1 of him reviewing cars 1 of thee best reviewers in the world. U mate have a gift 👌❤
I owned a red K-reg Integrale II back in the day from Walkers. The sales guy took me on a test drive to beat all test drives. It was joyous and a sad day when i chopped it in for a P1. Ah well, the memories - greatest chassis I've ever driven.
I had a P1 loved it along with my Laferrari and my Chiron. Chopped the P1 for a Mac F1 LM ( +£16million ! 🙄) Oh well my wife who's way younger insists on having her red Ferraris so she gets the SF90 , and soon the 12 cilindri as well as her runabout Purosangue!
Ha Henry knows his stuff. I remember back in the day but have never seen it referenced since that the most famous Martini Integrale Evo wasn't even run by the factory.
Once again Mr Catchpole makes the world a great place with a fantastic video. He and the team make probably the best car entertainment on the web. (I say probably as Jason Cammisa's car info dump genius may make me disagree with myself). I'm pretty sure Henry could even make commentary on the international paint drying championships intriguing and informative. But, give him a legendary Lancia and a rally stage and its awesome! I have no more superlatives left. Please keep the fantastic content coming. The only thing better could be the 2 and a half hour extended version please ! More, more !
Yet again, Henry presents an absolutely fabulous video! It’s why he’s the very best car journo / presenter there is. The only thing that could’ve made it better is some telemetry to tell us how fast each car was going.
Amazing. I'm not one to play the 'who's the best automotive TH-camr?' game because they all do different things, but Catchpole's up there, always. The sweepy drone-going-the-other-way shot has become quite hack, but aside from that, another *beautifully* conceived and executed film. I'm so glad he's just kept doing the same thing with Hagerty as he did at Carfection.
I miss my 8v Integale. It cost too much to keep on the road with far too regular visits to the garage, and 20 mpg when driving it like Miss Daisy, but it always put a huge smile on my face when I got behind the wheel. What a car.
Thank you Henry and Hagerty, your engagement and entertainment is sublime albeit less frequent these days. I stood at my standing desk shifting my body left and right as you carved those incredibly tight corners wondering where does someone draw that confidence to do what you do? Again thanks, an awesome video.
I owned an HF 4WD for several years. It was a very discreet and quick car. No wild wheel arches and looked just like a stock Delta. Sublime handling and steering.
I wanted my Dad to get an Integrale so bad in the late 80s, early nineties but LHD put him off. Great car and, as always, great content from Catchpole.
Superb! Love the Integrale EVO I/II. Miss mine actually. A part of me hopes they can sell more of them, however another part wishes for most to remain original.
9:10 While Group B gets all the wistful memories, Group A really was the best of the sport! Lancia, Audi, BMW, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Renault, Citroen, Hyundai, Suzuki, Daihatsu and many other brands fielded cars in Group A. All of those cars could be bought at a dealer somewhere! 18:20 Tyres on tarmac will make much more difference than power 👍
Walter Röhrl once said, that the Audi 200 was a joke compared to the Quattro. I see your point though, one could not just go into a Lancia dealership and order an S4.
@@tamasszabo8824 Indeed, for the brave few who could get the best from a Group B car, a Group A would have been pretty slow... But that was the point. Too many driver, co-driver and spectator deaths under the old rules. The Group A cars quickly grew into hero cars as the class evolved. Indeed, I have a 98 GC8 Impreza WRX and it is a fantastic car that involves the driver in a way not too manycurrent road cars do. That car was bought new from a regular Subaru dealer back in the day for $40k Australian. 🙂
excellent video Henry. the delta is my favourite classic car. 400k is just a bit to much for me. so my daily is a black GR Yaris called Suzi. 21k miles in and all i can say is it brings more joy to my daily life than anything!
That must have been a great day at the office, indeed! The Maturo restomod is very impressive, but, knowing that here in Italy, no other than WRC champ Miki Biasion can offer his own restomod Integrale Evo, I'll say that's where my money would go. You just can't beat that provenance. As usual, it was a fantastic production and an absolute pleasure to watch!
What an amazing story and the car Lancia Delta Integrale synonym for WRC😊❤❤. Lancia Maturo definitely part of my dream garage 😊❤❤. Jason Cammisa is dying to not be able to drive it😂😂😂 Another awesome video from the legend himself Henry Catchpole😊😊
When the road version was still bild driving crazy fast on open roads was way more common than now, my dad was in the car business, we drove a lot of cool stuff and as long as there are bends or corners in the road, nothing and I mean nothing beat the Integrale
Onboard audio/video was really stunning. Listening to the throttle inputs was pretty awesome. Did anyone else hear a missed shift in the onboard of the street car @ 16:49? Sound like he grabbed 5th instead of 3rd.
Henry is one of the very best video producers/drivers/journalists of any around today. He has a special way of describing cars and how they feel that few capture. Outstanding…I always wanted a Lancia…no chance now because nobody would insure me these days…age doesn’t always bring infirmity but insurers think it does! 🫢😃😃
What an amazing video and writing! Uo there with the best days of Top Gear I reckon. Is there anything that us who live in countries where Hagerty isnt available to support and ensure that this level of quality content keeps getting produced? With the soon coming demise of Gran Tour, I dread the future in which quality automotive journalism is a rare commodity.
The "Juha" button sounds like a recipe for disaster in inexperienced hands. In Finland we have a (hindsighted) saying "Kankkunen's head but his own hands".
Just. In. Heaven. I loved the Lancia’s - owned Beta coupe back in the day, but the Delta HF was my dream. Thanks Henry! Btw - anyone recognize Henry’s watch? What is it?
Note to video editor, putting period correct music to the period being discussed at the moment is a subtle classy move, cheers!
🤔
I have been a lifelong racing fan, but my all-time favorite is 1980s WRC. Oh what a time to have been alive
Why can't we recreate that now? No rules, no limits. The improvements in safety since are light years ahead, and it could be by design to force new safety developments. Racing could be raw and interesting and a worldwide phenomenon at a whole new level all over again.
Group B was the pinnacle of road racing. Period!
I love how Hagerty is doing a coverage of all the restomods out there!

thank you Hagerty, and thank you Henry Catchpole, for these kind of videos
I remember Henry from EVO. He's an amazing motoring journalist.
@@beijingbond he's still with evo magazine I believe...
This man is going places what a talented rookie
Lancia Delta Integrale is one of the greatest cars ever made, a legend in the full sense of the word. Wonderful to have it in the garage and have the opportunity to enjoy it.
Literally just the first second was one of the nicest fucking b-roll shots I've ever seen holy
Brilliant video, Henry. The Lancia Delta Integrale remains one of the coolest rally weapons of all time.

Hagarty is the closest thing to the old top gear. In regards of fun to watch and quality (and its got its own soul, not copying)
That bumper cam and engine audio are so good!! 17:22
Incredible good camera work, drone shots, editing and storytelling! Saved to Favorites!
Some mad-good cuts in there, really great shooting and editing!
No debate needed, one of my favourite and one of the best cars ever made, the BOSS enough said!
I think of all the car journalists
you have the most similar taste to my own. Very grateful for these vids thanks
Proof once again why this channel is in the Top 3 out there right now👍👍
Ha Henry knows his stuff. I remember back in the day but have never seen it referenced since that the most famous Martini Integrale Evo wasn't even run by the factory.
It was a great day out! Always welcome to come and do some more rallies in Ypres!

Mr. Catchpole. Another Amazing review. Thank you!
Because everyone needs a Juha! Enjoyable stuff as always, thanks all!
nothing better than hearing Henry nerding out on the thing he loves, RALLY ! I love you Henry

Thank you for the high quality content
Just like the Kimera the Maturo is a piece of art, just beautiful
Totally agree. Top work again, Henry - as always [sic]
This was awesome! I just sat here with a stupid grin thru the entire episode! Brilliant! 🤩
Another great video from Henry, one of a handful of jurnos that can drive.
An excellent video.....I have always been an HF Integrale fan...this brings tears to my eyes. ( I WANT ONE ).......well done Henry
This was wonderful. Just fantastic!! Thank you Henry!!!
Such a great video, love the drone footage mixed in with cockpit shots!
Hagerty is putting out THE best car content on all of YT imo...once again Herny is killing it, well done!
Great video. Great editing. And that drone flying 'around' the rally version as it takes the 90 degree bend, class. 🤘
I owned an HF 4WD for several years. It was a very discreet and quick car. No wild wheel arches and looked just like a stock Delta. Sublime handling and steering.
Awesome vid especially the rally driver comparing both cars. Pure quality.😊
The drone work in this episode is sensational.
I wanted my Dad to get an Integrale so bad in the late 80s, early nineties but LHD put him off. Great car and, as always, great content from Catchpole.
Sensational video and insane job on this restomod! This deserves more views! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

That was just awesome. Hagerty has been leveling up It’s game lately.
Hi carmba! holy goosebumps!!! well done once again for releasing my younger self obsessed rally fan Henry and the rest of the crew 😍🤗😎
This was epic! Great work, Henry
Excellent video, thanks for placing the subtitles in Spanish - Excelente vídeo, gracias por colocar los subtitulo en español 💯💯💯
Henry smashing the car content yet again .#LEGEND.👍👍👍👍
I love these videos until the prices come up. This isn't a "family rally car", it costs as much as a nice family home.
Your best upload yet❤ what a car ❤❤❤❤
Onboard audio/video was really stunning. Listening to the throttle inputs was pretty awesome. Did anyone else hear a missed shift in the onboard of the street car @ 16:49? Sound like he grabbed 5th instead of 3rd.
Catchpole's out there spending Cammisa money on a production! Me likey, a lot.
One of my top 10

What a treat. I love these restomods of the 80's & 90's and earlier. A real antidote to, almost all, bland electric cars.
I am here for all the rally content, ever. Bring that 5 pot Audi warble, please!
I enjoyed this more than the T50 vlog! If I had £400k lying around yes pls 😍
The orchestra of straight cut gears, a dump valve and a fart can is aural magnificence.
Nice to see a Dutch license plate on Hagerty😊
I'd love to see this against an AA Futurista - two different approaches with similarly insane outcomes. Great video, as always
Easily in my top 3 dream car to own
Same here but definitely number 1 for me.
