I bought Forza 7 about 2 weeks ago and I love this division so much! I wish they had a similar one for touring and GP cars (not together)

This game seriously needs to implement a rank system to separate dirty players from clean ones based on skill. Somewhat like GT sport

It does in a sense. It seems that the starting field is positioned by the previous races lap times. I usually at least get pole in races and im always near the front the next race. If my lap times drop i move further back at the start.

This will never get old. It is a staple of the channel. I literally almost wet myself when I heard Martin Brundle say siccccccccthh multiple times at the Brazillian GP; at the beginning of the race while praising Leclerc I believe.

@Ed Bighead It always has been a simcade. Even the community consists mostly of casual players, hence massive accidents on turn one. By introducing the new collision system they've made it so that hardcore racers actually have a decent chance to win by skill and not be destroyed on the first corner by some asshat. They have reduced the factor of randomness which means skilled players will be more consistent. As for driving physics, they've never really been representative of how a real life car would handle. You know, 'cause you can't receive full feedback of the car by sitting on a couch.
Ed Bighead forza isn’t really a sim racer. But I understand you’re dissapointment. BUT this new collision model makes racing a whole lot more fun, as Super GT said, the race stays a lot closer now instead of being instantly spaced out after lap 1
the new forza 7 collision system is going to put your channel out of business half the fun was watching the insanity of the idiots, now its just cars that feel like everyone weighs as much as 18 wheelers. they made the game idiot proof. RIP forza

I've suspected it, and this video confirms it beyond any doubt: The new collision model treats symptom, not cause. Turn 10 saw cars careening out of control into barriers and decided that had to go. Ramming still happens, terrible drivers taking out innocent bystanders still happens, bad lines still happen, and _blocking_ has gotten exponentially worse. Ignoring the problem was unacceptable, but handling the problem stupidly isn't much better. I have no confidence that their newfangled penalty system is going to put the horse back in the barn either.
If we were to have a drinking game based on how many times you said my GT,everyone would be dead right about now.... In other news,you should definitely try Big Bertha(M6).

So, overal Race Quality has been increased dramatically, a bit of fine-tuning and a working Penalty system and we have ourselves a good Simcade with high-quality Races. I hope they learn from this and keep focusing on improvements that make the game a better experience. And that Forza 8 someday comes with all of that from the start.
Old collisions and a penalty system is what most of us want.
@@FriendlyHomie the old system was awful one small bump and you went to putter space, I think right now it's bit too much but by far better then before.
@@ninetenduh if you bring back the old collision BUT with ghosting and penalties just like GT Sport, you'll get way cleaner races. But even that doesnt prevent from jackasses on GT Sport. They are just way less agressive.
Again the old system was awful, the cars needed a bit more weight to them, as I said, right now it's too much it's an open invitation to be overly aggressive, but now you are not a rubber ball flying all over the place which IMO is an improvement, the middle point between old and new would probably be perfect, with a working penalty system it would be even better, and I am not a fan of ghosting backmarkers, they are Vital to strategies, they are an obstacle that can make races more interesting, at least that's what it should be, but sadly they are more of a hazard in FM7, if it is to improve race quality i would even agree to Ghosting them.

agreed. It isn't even about collision physics anymore, it's about the playerbase. They've curated a space where killing other racers is ok and they willingly don't bother with a proper ranking system. Xbox basically doesn't have a serious racing game thanks to this. GT is the only choice and that's a shame.
New collision system sucks. It's like the dev's decided, "ok kids, if you can't play nice we're just going to glue your cars to the track so you can't crash anymore"

Does rev matching help when down shifting in this game?
I honestly think this new system makes the game more realistic. No more 'punting' and bouncing off of cars. The collisions look more real. And I thought this game was incredibly realistic before
They overshot it a bit Energy is absorbed to much in a collision it should be in between the old and the new system (and they should remove the collision assist)

I don't think it's perfect, but it's a big improvement. Cars are big heavy things, and should be able to take some mild bumping without getting thrown all over the place. I don't really understand the people who HATE it.
"cars are big heavy things" nah. these racecars barely weigh more than a Fiat 500. they have become bigger, more wide and heavier compared to older racecars but that doesn't mean they actually are heavy. watch some old DTM races and see how the drivers spin each other and how light for example a BMW CSL racecar is during cornering. I estimate that compared to modern GT3 cars the CSL would either be heavier or the same weight. even if you are indeed driving a big heavy thing such as a 2 ton mercedes, in the rain your rear end will get light quickly. traction control is what makes cars feel planted and heavy, but once you turn it off in a RWD car you will start to feel how physics really work. of course you won't ever experience this if you only drive newer cars and never turn TC off. some of the new cars won't even let you turn TC off, and even in ~15 year old cars the more dedicated TC systems are serious business, they take away your throttle mid corner without you noticing it, giving you the impression that your car is heavy/planted/easily controllable during cornering. guess what it's probably not. now take ~500-1000 kg out of it (in the case of the M6 GT3) and have another go. guess what it will be worse. downforce and sticky tires can't overcome physics.

I have a solution .. if someone rams you it should reset the person who did the ramming. Nobody would ram anymore because it would be very dissatisfying to have to accelerate from 0 mph

Makes sense. I felt as though I was lagging slightly and that is a common issue online. The Monza race was really good!!!!
The increased player base is a double edged sword. With FH4, a lot of players have also come to play FM7, only to find they are welcomed so warmly when they bomb around the track in a limo knocking people off and they get kicked off the server. And on the other hand. A lot of returning players that forgot the game was good and are just back populating servers with good times. The good thing about FH4 players is they are kids and get bored easily and bail. If I had a dollar for every time i heard "this is not like horizon at ALL!" -- "Player XXXX has pitted"... I would have hired a proper Foley team to do the engine sounds myself.

The Audi is my least driven car in this class. I find it ridiculously understeery, even with a super aggressive tune to push the front down.
