I'm a commercial carpenter in Minnesota and have built many unique radius walls & ceilings, feature displays for product placement and an assortment of just cool shaped stuff. Here I was just looking for a way to cover my foyer ceiling opening to conserve heat in my house. I was thinking adding acrylic or plexiglass. Thinking outside of the box the decorative flexible plastic or tarp would be an excellent idea and cost savings on purchase of 8' x 8' sheet of plexiglass. Where can I purchase the flexible plastic or tarp?

I would set this on a wall rather than a ceiling and then put a pair of closet doors in front of it. Imagine the look on one's face when they open the closet doors and see it.

I notice that you neglected to put anything on top of it to prevent bugs from getting into the area above it, which appears to be _critically_ unsealed. Does that imply that there's some way to access that area without ruining the sheet?
Also, printing onto a two-dimensional object, with no mirrors for the infinity effect? How is this supposed to be called an illusion to anyone with more than one eye?

I guess it would be difficult, but it would be cool if you were able to make the back lights brighten and dim with the curve of the tunnel, to give it the look that the lights are travelling down the tunnel. But its still awesome. I love it.

I've always had a strong interest in exotic lights and lighting effects since I was a kid but never really had the opportunity to act on them. I'm starting to mess around with arduino to make some cool stuff. Once I get the money I'd love to make some of the things you guys make, maybe even turn a little profit as there is nothing really like that around where I live. I'd love to do some of your DIYs. Awwwwwesommmmme! 😍❤️💕Are there bigger ones? What are your ceiling dimensions? Mine are all pretty big except my hallway corner/room. I was joking with a colleague the other day.... a whole wall (ex: 230" by 90“.... measured one of my walls real quick) and the whole wall is a tv screen where you can put anything, and you sit someone down, blinded folded, facing the screen, then you turn on the wall wide vortex and a huge fan behind them and remove the blind fold... 😂😅 LMFAO... I would never do that tho! But I would do it myself tho... I think... don't know if I'd actually have the guts! LOL 🤣. I wonder if screens would be a possible thing in the future tho! It would be FREAKING COOL! Like bringing the Bahamas to someone who can't travel 😎😊🙂🤗

I thought this was going to involve a sheet of flexible reflective plastic with some actuators behind it to make an infinity mirror whose surface can be deformed. Strip leds around the sides and a few twinkly leds across the surface of the lower fixed layer to make it trippy as anything.
That would be most awesome for a kid's room too! Very cool!

Mounting ceiling with zipper would be much faster :D
So, you build a frame, drywall the exterior, attach tracking all around, then ribbon lights. Then you spend an inordinate amount of time on a ladder swearing.
Then you blow dry out and enjoy... :-D

I would have done the frame differently for hanging the material. Build a wooden or aluminum frame to wrap the material around and use an array of neodymium magnets countersunk and glued into the wood, or epoxy for the aluminum. the frame in the ceiling would be metal angle iron. Then you can remove the panel for any adjustments or repairs.
Love it, I have a slanted ceiling and was thinking could you do a rain drop affect as if the rain was running off the side of the roof but on the inside of the house. Just an idea when I seen you do this. Keep up the innovated ideas, I like it when people can stretch the imagination.

May I suggest that you edit out the very long periods of video that are repetitive, or do nothing to explain what you are doing, or worse, don't even show what you are doing. I reckon that you could reduce this by two thirds, at least. A lot of the world doesn't have your cheap bandwidth - even if they have the time to wait for something to happen in the clip. Other than that, a very nice job - well done!

yes possible .. everytime you make it warm it will stretch on the cooling process
