Alright, @redheadphones6. I watched every single one of your Gunpla videos these past two weeks. I'm ready for more! In all seriousness, this has become one of my favorite channels! Hope you continue to do gunpla reviews. No one else shows the inner frame and goes through the kit quite the way you do. I also appreciate the selection you choose, emphasizing some older kits and giving them credit and appreciation where it's due.
The Hi-Nu's funnels, like humanity's souls, are weighed down by gravity. Any interest in the P-Bandai HWS set for the Hi-Nu? The North American preorders went up the other day. I don't have the Hi-Nu Ver. Ka yet, but I'm tempted because I like the Nu HWS, another design that went unused in CCA. (So the Hi-Nu HWS is double unused!)
I have the Hi Nu and the HWS. It's on my display. It looks nice with some drawbacks: The gun and the shield are way too heavy for the arms so you will have to do some reinforcing if you wanna pose it. Also, you'll just have to keep it on the stand. Don't even try to pose it standing up. All in all I think it looks way better with the armor than without it.
I just built this kit a couple of kits ago.Yes, I now measure time in builds 😂 It's one of my favorite builds so far. I even made it through the waterslides without a hitch. I was sweating on the fin funnels. I used Micro Sol to set them 😁 I shot a couple of coats of clear on them ASAP and managed to seal them in nicely.
Your channel is great. On point, calm, concise and helpful unlike the trend of most gunpla related channels with unnecessary long videos and/or made by an hyperactive chipmonkey on coffee
Nice review man. Hi nu ver ka is fun to build except when applying the decal on the funnels but they look so cool when the decals are applied properly.
I agree this kit looks awesome, but those wsd on the fin funnels always stopped me from getting it. As you say, I can paint it, but I'd have to hand paint it, I don't have the ventilation for air brushing or the space and hand handing doesn't look as good. So I stuck with the normal Mg Nu Gundam ver ka and Rg Hi Nu Gundam.
This is my favorite variant of the original hi nu design since its 5he closest to the original izubuchi design. Also it's purple which is a huge bonus since ever since the 1.0 mg redesign every hi nu since then has been blue. Also I just find the balance between detail and simplicity to be perfect that I think added details kinda hurt it since it might be too overbearing in the context of this ms. (Ergo why I prefer hguc sazabi compared to the rg sazabi for example)
Red, Can you make a Review of Zeta Plus C1? I want it so bad, but i dont know if i should get it, i want someone who makes GunPla look that good make a Review of it.

I got this, and I have an issue: anyone know how to keep the body from falling off of the backpack and head/neck when in the air? It keeps falling apart on me... as there is nothing holding the head and neck onto the rest of the body, except for a backplate, in front of the backpack. every time I left it off the ground with the stand, the body falls. :(
I used a Krylon metallic spray paint called "Gold Leaf." I haven't used Krylon paint for anything else, as I only received that color as a gift from a friend, but it did a great job of making a gold that both popped, but didn't distract from the rest of the suit.

Hmmm, wonder if the green led would have actually been more visible. Generally speaking I find green leds tend to be more vibrant and brighter than blue.

Pretty good update review man. Anyways whats your opinion on that announced Rg Hi Nu that coming out in the summer of 2021. I personally like how the Rg Hi nu has a nice mix of the Novel/Katoki design with elements from the 2007 redesign.
It's going to be interesting for sure. I'm really curious how the fin funnels will be handled. If the part separation is there for that blue/purple, it might be a great way for fans to add the Hi-Nu to their shelves.
The first colored rendition of the Hi Nu was from Hobby Japan magazine in 1990. Back then it used blue (though it’s also near to purple) and gray. It was the 1998 Dengeki Data collection that is known to have the Hi-Ni Gundam colored in purple with yellow vents. Bandai has alternated between the purple and the royal blue color and gray color scheme even before the 2007 MG came out at least for the cover art. The 1/144 B-Club Hi Nu Gundam from 1996 used the blue and gray, while the 1/100 conversion that came in 2002 tried the striped shield look with the gradient colors on the funnels but using the purple color scheme.
if those are bandai's led, it has been known that their quality isnt the best. they flicker and not that bright. you get way better result using cheaper 3rd party led, brighter.
I've noticed that there is another mg of the hi-nu floating around. The one in question has a blue color scheme instead of purple. Is the blue one any different from the ver.ka? If so is it any good? No one ever talks about the blue one and the few reviews I can find of it are pretty old, but I much prefer the light blue over the dark purple.

I find that squeezing the middle thruster bit of my Nu's funnels make the folded fins more solid and they keep there shape, but I don't know how different the Nu's and Hi-Nu's funnels are
They're pretty much the same, from what I remember of my Nu Gundam build. Regardless, the hinge connection tends to get weak over time and slump. I remember getting the fin funnels set perfectly, putting the kit on my shelve, then checking back a week later to see a few of them collapsed. I really hope newer Nu Gundam kits can figure out a more stable locking mechanism. We'll see what happens with the RG!
It's different for every person. Personally, a build like this took me about 2-3 days, working a few hours after work per day. It's nothing too time consuming, but worth taking your time to really enjoy the engineering and how all the pieces come together.
Plus I have a suspicion the shooting effect parts from the mg hi ni might be compatible with ver ka which is why the funnels on ver ka also seem to have the tabs nessecary to insert those effects.
My biggest issue with this model is that for a minor led gimmick.. it puts way to much weight on the back with a weak connection from the back to the chest making it fall apart on me to much
Dude u also had the same thing at the back pack u had the same problem as me or no mine keeps flying and i grab it to put the armor and it was just gone and urs have that thing it was J 17 or something else
The og review was a kind of plain review but this makes up for it. And in one of your videos you mentioned a mg sandrock review in one of you old videos. So what happened to it?
Thank you! The Sandrock review was my 2nd or 3rd review, and it was by far my worst. The scores were 4-5-4-4 if I remember, and the general consensus was that it was a great kit, but really bland. That led to a really bland video... I took it down about a month after posting. Hopefully, I'll get around to remaking that review eventually! Thanks for asking!
If you like this I wonder will you be getting the Real Grade Hi Nu Gundam? The RG Nu Gundam is an amazing kit in of itself so I’d imagine that one would be just as good.
I know this an older review but I will say for your fin funnels if you invest about 4-8$ in some cheap funnel effects from eBay they definitely help them stay up! And looks cool :)
i kind of wish there was a version of hi-v with original design but with redesign style funnel's color scheme, i hate how the colors alternate in such abnormal way
Imo I just let the fin funnels completely white. Mabye once I get a setup for painting them I would paint them, but from personal experience using water side decals(and 3 of them at that) is just a recipe for disaster on the fin funnels.
Me I couldn't even take a good care of my Sazabi Ver Ka since i accidently glued and broken some part that are important such as the wrist joint of the movable finger and the fin funnel gimmick. Now its just a sazabi with one fist and one missing fin funnel lol
Not sure if you know, but there was a 2007 MG of the Blue and White Version of the Hu Nu, and in my kinda controversial opinion. It is A LOT BETTER than this Ver Ka version.
Those decals are why I painted mine. I had to teach myself how to do a fade. Honestly it was easy and mixing the purple it uses is easy(it's almost exactly mr. color purple) but I had some trouble getting a blue I liked because hi blue is best hi nu. Tho the circles on the knees on mine wouldn't go in on mine. I'm about to have to solve that problem seeing as that's almost where I am on my build
I think the RG’s color separation may make it both a more complex and better build,since it has the purple and white fully separated,and the kit is overall easier to store due to its smaller scale
I have had this kit for over a year but haven't put it together yet. It seems so intimidating and the water transfers seem like a headache. Edit: Do you plan on doing the Heavy Weapons System upgrade for this kit.

So why did Bandai made a blue version of Hi Nu in 2007? Honestly I like the 2007 just for its short and long beam saber
The blue MG version was a redesign. The purple version is how it looked in the novel Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children.

It's an older kit, so expect a dated build.

I love this version of the Hi-Nu, but I prefer the older version of the pattern on the funnels. I color matched and painted the entire funnel instead.

Might I suggest the normal hi ni mg? It would be interesting seeing a comparison since it's a redesign in more blue and also quite interesting.
