Incredible. Volume went out, couldn't adjust anything volume knob, volume steering wheel buttons, fade/balance etc, but the radio had power and I could change radio stations. Fiddled with the fuse and it all came back on!
Insta subscribed ! I just bought 2005 gmc Yukon from Florida live in Michigan and it’s a beauty! But the radio keeps cutting in and out and says “phone “ unavailable. Lights work but no sound !
Yes sir I got a 2002 Yukon there is sound coming out of my radio but it’s very low. I could turn it up but it’s very light sound. Would you have any suggestions thinking about buying a aftermarket radios to see if it works but I don’t know if it’s an amp or not. My in-laws are on the roof before I did had a new ignition . i’m wondering if that may have something to do with it he passed away, so I don’t know who actually did it.
You can spend a lot of time trying to figure this out. If you're thinking about getting a stereo, it's probably save you a lot of time and money trying to figure it out yourself, let them figure it out as they're installing the new stereo. Good Luck.
2007 yukon, no blow fuses for Amp or stereo related fuses. Two corroded fuses elsewhere. Rear defogger and fuel pump. I cleaned them put and sprayed them with wd40. And put new ones in. Still no sound...what else could it be??
I have a 2000 gmc yukon denali with no sound but there are 2 fuse boxes, 1 under the hood and one to the left of the steering wheel. Which fuse should i check?
My radio works only if I remove and reset the 30 amp fuse. Once I shut off the car, the audio stops. Once I remove and replace the 30 amp fuse, it will work until I shut off the ignition again! That's music and other sound functions. Any ideas?
I have a similar but slight different problem. Have the bose system. I'll have sound most of the time, but every now and then I'll turn it on, and no sound from the radio and no door chimes. Last time it just came back when i started it up later. Radio has power, can adjust volume and station just fine, but zero sound. Fuses are fine. Any thoughts?
It's common for water to get in from the windows seals and fallow the speaker wire to the connection on the speaker.IF you have NO CHIMES, then this can be the BCM (body control module) Amplifier, Speakers or Programming. It also would limit it down to BCM or Speakers One shorted / bad Speaker can cause the Amp to shut down The BCM can cause the AMP not to work The BCM initiates the Chimes thru the Amp, then thru the Radio Speakers on the Driver Side Use of GM Dealer Scan Tool would be best to pinpoint the cause. Good luck
@notsofast2325 thanks. And yeah, no chimes at all, but I do have sound if I plug headphones into the rear jacks. Don't know if that narrows it down any more
2003 Suburban with bose speakers... mine is intermittent... head unit always on but sound goes in and out. ding ding ding for door locks is also affected when this happens. very frustrtating and probably will never find the underlying issue. Unless fuse is loose or something that is probably not the cause but will check. thanks for posting
@@mcearl8073 - yes I have narrowed it down to the harness connection and the head unit. It’s hard for me to determine whether it’s the harness itself or the connection at the head unit. But it’s definitely there at that interface and very hard to troubleshoot from here on. I tried orienting the wires to put a certain kind of pressure in another direction to see if that did anything but it didn’t for long. There’s so many wires I’m not sure which one could be the one to focus on. Space is limited as well.

I have a similar but different problem in my '03 Yukon. My sound comes and goes. When I initially start the Yuke, no sound from the radio, and no warning bells from the dash, plus the low fuel warning doesn't sound. Later, the radio and other chimes start working. This doesn't happen when it's hot outside.
@@JesusFlores-db4jj depending how bad it is , just replace the section that is burnt. or the short may be in the plug which you will have to buy and replace. you can find them on ebay.

I have a 2003 Yukon XL and my radio usually doesn’t play then out of nowhere it comes on and scares the 💩 out of you do you have a solution , Thank you
Wear some depends. LOL. Sounds like a short or a problem with your radio. If you're not good with electronics you may have to take it to a stereo shop.. you may have to replace it.
I have a 2005 gmc yukon. When I first crank my truck I hear no sound from my speakers. Then later I hear a loud thump and the radio, comes on. But if I shut it off then crank it again I hear nothing. What could it be?
FYI 1 There could be sounds for the following: Seat belt not hooked up when there is someone or something sitting in the seat. Door ajar - meaning a door is open but locked on the first click. Fluid levels are low and need filled up.You may have a bad switch for the door, headlight switch/relay, body control module, or a number of other afflictions. 2 if you have the factory radio it might be the factory bose amplifier that is the problem, its located on the botton of the center console. If so, I can find them on ebay for $100.00. It could also b e the speakers but I doubt it. If you have an aftermarket headunit, make sure u used the proper harness to interface with the bose system, u can use the Metra GMOS-04 You also have a 6" subwoofer inside the front section of the center console, is it working ? if u put an aftermarket head unit and used the cheap harness without the on star and chiming, its probably ur boss amp thats not turning on and u need to send a 12v switch wire to the pink wire on the factory plug that ur probably not using! u can bypass the amp by sending ur speaker wires down the center console and crimping in to the wires past ur boss amp. Good luck
