I love this reaction! Taemin is my favorite solo artist. It was SHINee's dancing, and mainly Taemin's, that caught my attention when I stumbled upon kpop back in 2010. And they and him is still my nr 1. He is the king of dancing. And such a great singer, AND he does play the piano. He is just AMAZING. And I love seeing you finding him incredible too. All his music videos/songs are recommendable, but my favorite mv is "Famous" (it's Japanese so might not be up for reacing too) and "Want", favorite dance is "Drip drop" and favorite song is "2 kids" (all this has an mv).

I'm happy that you react to Taemin ! I was not into Kpop before BTS, and I discover Taemin because of his dance duet with Jimin at MC Countdown (amazing 2min performance ! you have to check it ! ) ), few years ago. I love this man, not only because he is an amazing dancer, and singer, but also because he have is own "color", his own artistry zone. Something between darkness, sadness and sensuality ? Difficult to express for me, because english is not my mother langage and I'm bad at it. But anyway, I like this man, and Advice is one of my favorite Taemin's song. I also recommend Want ,and Move. And "Just Me and You special Performance" is such a beautiful choreo. Dancing with the shadow... pure poetry.!!

Such a great reaction, I thoroughly enjoyed it! There’s lots of talent in Kpop, but Taemin is in a league of his own. He’s considered an icon and a legend when it comes to solo artists and there’s plenty reasons for that. He’s a master performer with insane skills and charisma, but most of all with unique, distinctive identity. You’ve mentioned how his dancing is so elegant and you’re so right! I’m truly thrilled you are finally reacting to the legendary TAEMIN!!! Taemin became a trainee under SM at age 11 as a self-taught dancer. He was one of three selected out of thousands the day he auditioned, but he caught their eye with his pop-locking skills, the fact he crossed the line when he wasn’t supposed to (on purpose), and his cheekiness. Though he didn’t feel ready, he debuted with SHINee as the maknae (youngest member) and main dancer at age 14.
Though he didn’t get any vocal lines at first (many stated he was tone-deaf, but he was going through puberty), Taemin worked his butt off to improve-so much so he was getting frequent nosebleeds and passed out a few times. His hyungs (basically a term for older “brothers”/close males) helped him develop his voice, especially Onew (Leader of SHINee and also helped coach SM trainees) and Jonghyun (widely regarded as the best vocalist of KPOP), to the point he was the first SM idol to go solo whilst active in his group (2014, at 21 years old). He’s now known for being an exceptional vocalist and is a main vocalist for SHINee and SuperM.
In 2014, Taemin had his solo debut (the first artist to ever do so while also active in a group) as the ACE of SM Entertainment (the best of the best in all areas)-Ace is the name of his first solo album and he was the first to receive that title. Now he has gained even more titles: he is the Idols’ Idol (most idols today will say the reason they became an idol and the person they most look up to/aspire to be is Taemin and/or SHINee), he is also a Prince of KPOP (which is a title granted to SHINee), Golden Maknae of SM that’s talented in all areas (besides the fact everyone loves him-not only is he talented, but he’s a wonderful human), Legendary Solo Man (역솔남-near as I can tell, it’s a title bestowed on those similar to “Diva”, given to artists such as Aretha, Dolly, Cher, etc), and the Michael Jackson of South Korea (he’s also known as one of the best dancers in South Korea, if not the best). His backup dance teams are the best in the business and are comprised of multiple famous choreographers (with that said, it’s still difficult (if not impossible) to see anyone BUT Taemin when he’s dancing). It’s no surprise that he’s very well-respected amongst choreographers: his friend Koharu Sugawara nicknamed him “Dancer Killer”.
In 2019, SM collaborated with Capitol Records, USA, and assembled a group of seven of the best artists in KPOP to debut in the USA: SuperM. In fact, they even collaborated with Marvel after having been dubbed the Avengers of KPOP. Of course, Taemin was the first chosen and helped pick the other six members. Though not the eldest member, he is the senior member of the group due to the length of time he’s been in the industry. As such, he would have been leader, but he deferred that task to Baekhyun of the group EXO (who’s slightly older than Taemin). The main reason being, Taemin has been the maknae of SHINee his entire career and didn’t feel he would be best suited to lead the others. However, he is the center of the group and they ALL (including Baekhyun) defer to his experience and take his advice to heart. He is very caring towards his dongsaengs (juniors) and was nicknamed Taemresa (inspired by Mother Teresa). Baekhyun is an incredible leader, by the way…don’t want anyone to misunderstand my intentions behind what I’ve said.
With the debut in SuperM, Taemin became the first idol to ever debut in three generations: 2nd with SHINee, 3rd as a solo artist, and 4th Gen with SuperM. The second (and only other) artist to achieve this did so only a few months ago.
Taemin is currently on hiatus due to his mandatory military service, but I’m excited for his return (expected in November). His fans are named Jjakgoongs (a name Taemin calls us meaning best friends/buddies/partners) and Taemints (Taemints being the name of his Shawol fans, based on the fact SHINee was a total secret and not marketed at all before their debut so Taemin would hand out mints and candies to tempt people to listen to their music and attend their debut-which not even their families were aware they were debuting until they were on stage in front of them).
Taemin is a well-known workaholic…he never takes breaks and hasn’t since he was a child. He’s in the studio every single day-not even taking off for Christmas.
Taemin and SHINee are all fluent in Japanese and release just as many Japanese albums as Korean. They are so popular in Japan, many do not consider them foreign artists (which is testament to the love and respect the Japanese people have for them). They even have an entirely separate crew of dancers and staff in Japan. Most artists have to request to hold concerts at Tokyo Dome (it’s an unspoken rule you need to be able to sell out the 55,000-seat arena to perform), but they actually reach out and request SHINee and Taemin because they know they’ll sell out in seconds (whether as a group or Taemin as a solo artist) and have to host multiple days to accommodate. The guys host the entire concert in Japanese and do not need translators.
SHINee are known for being trendsetters-which includes Taemin, of course. Besides introducing new music styles and breaking boundaries with his concepts, he has also worked to break other boundaries, as well. Early in his career, SM took advantage of his prettiness and exaggerated it-he was often mistaken as a female (especially during the long-hair era) and would frequently clear his throat to “discreetly” let others know he’s male. He absolutely hated it, and understandably so-he was a teenager. Later, he embraced some of the socially-viewed “feminine” qualities and has worked hard to showcase that music has no gender.
Taemin made waves with his song, “Move”, which he performs with his Girl Gang (all-female backup dancers). The choreography blends masculine and feminine energy like no one but Taemin can do (so many tried to imitate it, it was dubbed “Move Disease”, but none come close). He also lends that androgynous aspect to his fashion choices.
Taemin has many facets to him-when the camera is on (filming MVs, music shows, etc), he is a true professional. With his SHINee hyungs, he’s a mischievous crackhead who lives to torment them. They raised him, so they spoil him, but don’t misunderstand-his love for them is unmatched and it goes both ways. With SuperM, he’s silly, but caring-he took them under his wings and is their mentor. He also has his Padding Squad (friend group consisting of Kai from EXO, Jimin from BTS, Ravi from VIXX, Timoteo of HotShot, WannaOne/HotShot’s Sungwoon, and a non-celebrity friend). They’re named the Padding Squad, or Padding Friends, because Taemin bought them all matching customized jackets with their own unique logo.
For me, personally, I can appreciate someone’s musical abilities…but to become a true fan (or “stan”), they have to be really special and have qualities setting them apart besides simple talent. Taemin, SHINee as a group, and the other SHINee members as soloists (they’re all five incredible soloists) have my utmost devotion. They’re incredibly talented in ways far beyond musical abilities and are kind, fun, and caring humans.
YESSS!!!!! Oh Taemin is a beast in dancing and he's the king of dance in k-pop. His style is so very unique. He himself and his style reminds me so much of Jimin - and to think that they are best friends - man, imagine two best friends being that talented in singing and dancing and hold such uniqueness to themselves that sets them apart, and let's not forget how damn gorgeous they look too!! I was an instant fan after I watched advice the very first time. I had my jaw on the floor.

I was on my way out when the alert came on, I almost broke my leg running back to the house and omg I forgot my mom in the car. Pleeeeease do your fans an honor and react to more taemin he is so well worth it. All his songs and performances are so well put together because taemin watches every detail. On taemins move video everyone was blown away by his performance but not taemin. He did a retake over and over for 18 hours in the rain to perfect it. Taemin is my ult/higher power and his talent is absolutely unbelievable. Criminal and Move are always the two MVs that I recommend first, and paired with Advice, I think it covers a wide range of what he can do. Drip Drop is another that really showcases his dancing even if it’s not personally my favorite song sonically. He pops OFF there.
I ADORE Syonara Hitori, though I know that his Japanese MVs are often blocked so it can be risky, but it shows a more lyrical form of dancing than most of his other work.

Yes Taemin is playing the piano he's been doing so since he was 13. Taemin is also self thought as a dancer though he sought professional lessons later on as he did with his singing. He was taught to sing by Onew an jonghyun. check out shinee's entire discography and solo work from each member

TAEMIN represents what cannot be precisely defined in the approach to gender and role playing in the MV music video, and the choreography is so multidimensional and unpredictable that it is difficult to classify it into a specific genre.

Taemin is widely considered the best dancer in K-pop. He and Jimin did a performance together that was killer. A dance practice of this song came out recently - gorgeous. SHINee are the only group I really love other than BTS.

Taemin is incredible. His Japanese songs are my favorites but all of his songs are so very,very wonderful.
I am so delighted you immediately were amazed by and enjoyed Taemin! All of his solos are amazing but I would suggest Move or Sayonara Hitori as your next of his MVs! Watching him grow since 2010 has been an amazing journey (Onew is my bias but I am ot5).

Taemin is known as one of the best dancers in kpop! I recommend reacting to his video for MOVE. It has some of the most innovative choreography. Also Sayonara Hitori. The video is good, but the live is even better, especially the one for Hit the Stage or his full performance for MAMA 2016. It was incredible.
