    15:10 - mounting the main gun! Wow, that's a tank!
    Great project and video (of course) and interesting idea on making a longer one to act as a detailed plan. Curious to see how that works out.

    For whatever reason, probably because of your 'OCD', the precision and thought that you put into both the projects and your video coverage of them result in my ability to watch any length of video you put out. It relaxes the mind to watch such well-crafted content.

    Jeremy what an awesome job man! Soo well thought out and executed with perfection! You do such an amazing job at thinking through everything and hitting all the marks! I don't know if I will ever have the opportunity to build some of your projects, like this one, but can't get enough of your vids man! I will most definitely be waiting for the long form version and day dream about being the person to build it! Cannot wait to see what you will be making that includes using that awesome setup! NICE JOB JEREMY!

    I was eyeing a grinder that rotates like that and after happening across your video here I not only became inspired but also became a Subscriber. My son (13) was really stoked about your family shop and all the tools. He said, “Oh man... THAT would be an awesome shop to have!” Ha! ‘From the mouths of babes’. Will definitely get to those other videos now. Great job!

    Son, you are a really an excellent builder, welder, woodworker, perfectionist, precise and extremely accurate and any other adjectives you could think of. Now I certainly don’t mean that in a bad way on any of those words. Congrats on building a beautiful piece of art. It could used as art bc it is so nice. You will go far son. Don’t forget to have fun which I’m sure you do bc you are so precise on everything. I will keep my eye on you as you are a pleasure to watch build. I can only dream about ever being that good. Your editing is amazing too. Best of luck in all that you do.

    I love how you are casually building things that blow commercial similar things out of the water... Like, "Feh. I'm just building the best belt sander ever. NBD. And the table will be able to hold a F350 off the ground..."
    You are probably going to make a fortune building someone's dream shop. You first, and then other people when they start throwing truck fulls of money at you to do the same.

    • @denisl2760
      @denisl2760 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The commercial tools have a strict budget for materials, and they have to be mass-producable. Designing and building something that is way overkill and will last 3 lifetimes is alot easier than building something that is just barely beefy enough to outlast the warranty period. That's the way to make a fortune these days. Sadly the guys making high quality stuff don't make a fortune.
      If Jeremy were to try to make a living out of handcrafting things like this he'd probably have to charge at least $2000 for that belt sander and $1000 for that table. There's not really much of a market for that.

    Stand turned out great! Random question for you: how do you keep your Apple Watch face from getting scratched up? I've had mine for two weeks and it already has multiple scratches from my day-to-day shop use.

    • @Jer_Schmidt
      @Jer_Schmidt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!
      Answer: I don't. It's got a lot of fine scratches in it, but they hardly interfere with the visibility of the screen. And so far there haven't been any deep gouges even though I'm really not careful with it at all.

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jeremy Schmidt man, I’ve already got a fairly significant scratch across the face, and it didn’t even happen in the shop. I figured this thing would be a little more durable.

Jealous of your ability to build some cool stuff.

    Hey Jeremy, after looking at tons of different designs of 2"x72" grinders, i want to say that yours outperforms them all. your design is the most powerful, sturdy, professional and versatile version I have seen. Also I really enjoy someone building something that looks and feels homemade but still really professional and like a "real" tool. I don't know whether and when i will built one but if I do so I will most certainly built yours (but in metric XD).
    Congratulations on your design and the finished product. You have made an awesome piece of equipment with this grinder.
    Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing it !

    Great looking stand and grinder. While I like the idea of a short intro video and a longer how to video, I'm not sure if it is a substitute for written plans. Having a printed plan with measurements that can go to the shop as a reference is invaluable for making an exact copy of the project. On the other hand anyone capable of building the grinder and stand should be able to build a completely functional stand without an exact set of plans, it would just look a bit different.

    scary
    design: A1 (arguably overdesigned here and there but hey....)
    execution: A1 (layout, fittting, welding, woodwork...astounding talent in one pckage)
    video production: A1 (professional, short and sweet, no annoying music)

    Great video brother!! I'm planning on building a bunch of tool carts for my shop with this same basic design. Now I have a much better idea of how it will look! Can't wait for the detail video!

    Incredibly well done mate. Your belt grinder build video is my favourite of yours and this is almost as good. Really enjoyed the video!
