Doesn't matter what battery you run 5000 100c or 1500mah. 200c if your boat is running to wet or not tuned in for the prop your running. Your never gonna have a high speed. Hopefully this video shows that and helps you tune your boat!
Thanks sir, you have triggered so many memories. it sucks having to learn all over again. Your time invested in this channel is awesome. I have been able to get my spartan, 26 inch recoil, veles, mini rigger running great. Still working on river jet and zelos twin. You are great! Thanks, 10 second Jeff
I really thought those batteries would perform way better and do to there lighter I thought you may get better numbers. But the water had some chop, love the strut adjustment that is key for sure , great video
Me to brother I actually tuned the boat down to run wetter with the lighter packs. Probably over thinking it. I started seeing better speed towards the end once I tuned the boat back in.. I had the boat running to dry
Really interesting stuff here Big B. Loving the prop and stinger angle changes, and seeing the performance difference in mph is so useful 👌 Glad the battery packs are working for you because there's a lot of negative PR about those MaxAmps. Not sure you can judge whether the higher 'true' C rating makes much difference, but you certainly seem to get a full tank of gas with them 👍
For a 5000mah battery the run time was amazing. I like them alot, yes sir there's alot of mixed reviews on the max amps, that's basically why I wanted to get them. First run didn't Go as expected, I had put to much down trim on my TT and strut over thinking the weight/power. Hopefully the next outing will be much better. 70mph here I come. Lol
I really need help figuring out this ESC receiver deal hopefully I can get it figured out. I’ve seen your videos. Just doesn’t seem like I can figure it out something I’m missing
I knew something was off because the mile an hour for all the different props was just too low, it was definitely plowing the water, I personally always use a straight edge or a ruler when I’m doing angle changes. With some more tuning I believe you will hit 60 mph or 61 with the high rake gold props with that boat, anyways it’s always fun to tinker test and tune. I’m looking forward to seeing those in the Veles also, those batteries are pretty sweet
Guess I didn't explain what I did very good. I dropped my trim tabs down and stinger down quite a bit expecting more power from the max amps light battery? The cnhl had the boat up out the water dry and crazy acting (heavy battery) I was expecting way more from the max amps battery?
Yea it was spur of the moment thought really seemed to be the culprit. The power cut has been driving me crazy. Vinnie cap pack helped Temps quite a bit I was really surprised at the Temps with his cap pack installed.
My v2 runs 61 mph. 2 Spektrum 5000mah 11.1v 100c batteries. Prop is x 642 prop. But runs dry, trim tabs down. Buy she's a little all over the place. Do my trim tabs need to be level with the bottom of hull?
@@IRONCLADRC Np haha I’m new in rc boat and i don’t have a lot of tools😅Do you have a link for good key/tools to suggest me or a good brand of tools? My English isn’t really good because im French Canadian haha
Sure but it wouldnt be a fair test up against the CNHL 9500. I can do a test with the 5000 spektrum 6000 elcheapo and the maxamp 5450. Then I'm thinking about running a test on the cnhl 9500 up against both 5450 max amps run parallel
Nice video. So is the power cut due to the prop size or amp draw? My Spartan is doing the same thing and I thought it was a temp issue but temps were perfectly fine.
I think it's due to the amp draw causing a voltage drop throwing the esc in to lvc cut. Definitely due to prop size. In my case it was prop size and stinger angle
Maxamps batteries really aren't all that flash mate, 140°f on the packs is not a sign of quality at all. And please please steer clear of oxicrap, absolutely horrendous company. Enjoy watching you play with the gear and observing your techniques, but I won't tune in to anything oxidean related.
Yes, that's what I was thinking, 140f is very hot. It could be fine if he run the battery wide open whole pack until lvc but couple speed runs, than a break to change props couple times, and that hot with break, that's not good. Internal resistance and "real c" is definitely on a level of average amazon battery I would say. I have a lectron pro 4s junk battery and when I run it hard in arrma infraction, it's super hot, you can barely hold it, I would say 160 degree just by guessing. My good 4s pack is barely any warm, maybe 85 or 90 degrees if it's 65 outside temperature
I was running big props size and pitch. Any time you put a big pinion or prop on an rc it puts alot of strain on the esc and battery. All of my packs are that hot after a big prop run. What battery's do you run that are under 110 degrees after running back to back big props. Huvoo? ovonic? Traxxas packs? Gold bats

Just finished a boat and used a solid driveshaft . Seems to work great. It’s just winter. It won’t self right anymore. It’s a UDI ARROW.
I love watching these videos of you running your boats

Glad I can help brother. Having fun and tinkering is what it's all about.
Patiently waiting for Horizon to send you a Geico 36 for tuning! Really digging the series on the Veles and Sonicwake!
Keep it up Bro!
Me too brother me too!
I like the white lid, makes me think of the woodpecker from those old Thrush muffler stickers lol. Good info, good runs.
Voltage cuts are most of the time due to thin cables or bad soldering.

I have watched probably 30 of your vids...Is there any props that are good out of the whole with little/no cavitation? I need out of the whole oomph.
Yes there are but the top end wouldn't be so great. This x445 should work but watch your temps. www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=oct-x445

It’s a little tricky at first but you’ll get it!
I think i will try a 32mm prop on my Charger. I ran the battery out and the temps are cold . Think i will try 3s.
Good deal. Yea I'd throw 3s on it for sure

@@IRONCLADRC All good Big B, you explained perfectly!
Going to put a air fan on the back of my sonic like 36 and run it on the snow
A regular prop will push it through the snow, (down angle) especially with a catamaran
Nice call on the stinger adjustment. It ran much better

Those batteries are the wrong ones. Its getting too hot. And when load goes up, amp draw goes up. Use 4s 100c 10,000mah x2
Lately I've been running smc 7600 9500 150c HCL-HP

So what’s your thoughts on batteries the max amps or the cnhl?
I don't know yet? cnhl for speed. For sure
What's the capacitors for?
Just testing the cap pack. Not needed, I didn't see any gain..
The cat packs keep the positive energy flowing
