Glad to see the BigBoy on the water again. Great to see and hear it running. I love the sounds of the twin motors, can't get enough. Thanks for taking the time to entertain us.
FINALLY! Great to get the twin controllable B! That’s a big effin Boat Son! I agree with the big servo. Can’t beat solid torque on steering. Love the rooster tail. I’m waiting for the day you take it out there when the sun is really low, imagine the height and length of the spray behind the boat. That’d be a calendar shot man. Lotta work, but it’s paying off. Great to see it go brother.
hi i could not wait to see how that thing turned out . i actually have been looking at those outdrives for a while , i cant believe they dont have a left and a right ! it`s like an unfinished project , pay up and enjoy the work !
Tell me, are the engines synchronized? minute 5:41s when the propellers stop. one of them stopped first Can you see this either visually or in software? As soon as you put 4 batteries, more weight and more slower. Let's see... :D
Yeah, the side that stopped first was the side that was giving me issues, the universal cup basically destroyed itself so that side had more resistance
@@IRONCLADRC it was the same side that is in trouble.. Many would have already recycled this boat. I see your patience draining away. But it seems like you won't let go, persistence is your strong point, good for you. And also for me. I like these fights. good continuation and best of luck.
Well done bringing her back to the water. I think I said it before but I would love to see TFL run their R & D model in full working order, no glitches nothing !? This is assuming when they designed this complex setup they did R & D before putting in on the retail market, like Bill does. Did TFL just bang this one together without any testing and smash a bottle of Champers over the bow and say good luck ?! without any R & D ?? If hey did R & D I would be asking for their R & D notes or at least reaching out and raise the question (S) of steering? Thats just me though. Always enjoy your vids. Great informative channel.
Running better, good to see. Curious, have you thought about replacing the drives with traditional struts or stingers? To me it just seems these drives don’t have any benefit in that turning is not as sharp, which I would have thought would be sharper with these, stability and turning while off power is reduced and prop size seems limited. Maybe in 1:1 boats there are some benefits but not seeing any on this one. Really appreciate you taking the time to show this type of drive system and sticking with it tho! Learned a lot!
Nice to see it run, have to admit that. But lets be honest. If you buy an expensive Rc you expect it to be with much less flaws. Really curious how much work it in end takes to get it sorted out eventually...
New to the channel and RC boats, just got a recoil 2, I’ve been nervous to run it in saltwater, but sounded like you said “tides” in this video so realized maybe that it’s ok to run in salt? Any special flushing or cleaning needed? Thanks for the help and for entertaining a novice question! Great channel!
I run in brackish water, first of all run your boat in fresh water first, make sure the boat doesn't have any leaks, use hatch tape every time! If you get salt water in the hull, Rinse well with fresh water and dry with a fan afterwards.. run fresh water thru the water cooling system after each run Ballon tje reciever & or use corrosion x. I recommend running in fresh water lots of before and after maintenance needed to run in salt water
@ thank you for the tips!! We’ll keep it fresh for awhile until we just use to it and then maybe mix in some lagoon days if they are calm! Great content! Liking the videos you did on the recoil 2 18 inch! If you had to buy 1 prop to upgrade, everything else stock, what would it be for that boat?
Have you thought about experimenting with a gyro? It seems to be kinda standard now in the car and truck world. Might be useful for a "twitchy" boat. :)
Hey B, just a little something off subject. I’ve been thinking about modifying a couple of my boats for a couple of years and just noticed that they make cooling plates for lipo batteries. Have you ever used them?
You might want to call Castle before turning the timing up on those D wind motors. I know they had a lot of esc fires with the car version of that esc and the mmx8s when running g D winds They told me even with the new software updates, they didn't recommend running a D wind on my.mmx8s, and said 0° timing was a must if I even wanted to try it. Would hate to see you burn up 2 expensive esc's, and possibly lose such a nice boat. 👍
This boat definitely sounds like a wounded animal in the best way possible. I do find the dual drive on the Ariane odd for RC boats, like you said too many moving parts and limited steering travel making dependability a crap shoot, looks awesome and is scale but sometimes keeping it simple is better.
You need to apply positive drive and trim tabs on smooth constructions aka release the hull. I drive a full size Donzi Blackhawk. Level trim on rough conditions.
Has it ever been just a single motor ??? Twins are great. But they create more drag that close together. But like offshore if one goes out, you can still get. Lol
Pfff, I am happy to hear you will get 2 blades 1,4 pitch props, this is the solution from the beginning. the boat will reach 55-60mph easy on 8S. you will have problem to control the steering with this fast servo, you must slow it down from the radio, travel range must be reduced, -10-15 exponential applied. CG around 28-30%. Do not try to overpower this boat, transmissions are the weak point! I hope the transmission can be repaired soon!
A subscriber sent this hull to me, he has the same exact boat, he wanted me to log my progress to help him with his build. Unfortunately, the drives just aren't going to hold up.. I gave it my best shot, that's all I can do. Stingers and rudder coming soon
Seems like it needs longer skegs. I've watched all the videos on this boat and like you i had great hopes for it but it's seems to be a great disappointment. That's in no way a result of your efforts. But I've learned some things.
I was just watching several Ariane boat videos to see how fast that boat is supposed to be and handled. Non of the videos I watched had arneson drives. I'm not saying I watched every video but out of maybe 20 yours was the only one. Have you thought about putting the other stock stinger on it. Just curious. I think those drives are your worst enemy because the others were faster and handled great.
Great job Big B but but that drive is the devil drive it's time to hang it up on the wall all I see is a money pit to try to keep it running any power you put behind to get high speed is going to disintegrate itself just too many moving parts is there any videos of that thing going high speed with those drives... Unless you can get the factory to sponsor you some parts cuz all that showing me those drives are a piece of crap I don't know if I go anymore unless you can find or anybody that's actually made that drive work... I just don't want to see you lose your sanity over this boat just to try to keep those drives... Always full trigger B..
So pumped you got her working !!!! Beautiful boat !!!

Wow, you are one busy guy, I run about five boats and it seems like I work on them all the time, I do love it. Great job.
Thanks, yes, it's basically a part-time job keeping several boats on the water and serviced.. thanks for 👀
Big B , that is an awesome recovery .
Looked formidable on and off the water .
Amazing . 👏👏

Good to see it going straight
Thanks Big B. Everyone has a problem child! Take your time with it. It’ll be fine and you’ll have it ripping proper.
That boat’s got its gremlins, cool as hell, but the gremlins are relentless, however we know you'll go ghost busters on it and win in the end Big B 👍
Everywhere here is frozen! I'm jealous!

This will be an interesting find on the issue!
If the servo doesn’t turn far enough will that make the large turning radius?
Salut mon ami et bien il fonctionne très bien ce bateau et comme nous sommes en hiver le refroidissement doit être meilleur 😜😋😁👶🚲🛴🇨🇵🥂🎉
Lookin better B, if anyone's gonna get it, you will.👍
Stay with it Big B👍
I’d say it isn’t turning as well because of the “rudders” on the back. Do they help you out alot keeping the boat straight ?

Got my shopping cart full at ose, two 1/4 stingers w/ flexcables and a 6" setback rudder! Yep those arenson drives are going bye bye lol.
@@IRONCLADRC Boats gonna fly with the traditional stingers, can't wait to see it!

@georgerushing253 i haven't not, seen many setup with lipo cooling plates but I haven't needed them for my builds. Adds a cool factor though
sometimes when things don’t work take a break from it , get new ideas and get back to it , i do this on my vehicles if i am having problems with them.

@@fokkerfw Roger that thanks for the insight 👍 🙏
Need more positive as you know.as it sets your planting seeds with a tractor it's plowing so much. Was there enough grease on the shafts.
Plenty grease, you'll see what happened to the boat in the next video!
"Green" mean rooster tail machine😀
Youre gonna be the Afficionado on this boat! You are taking the time to get it figured Out! 🎉
I'm just trying to figure it out, one step at a time! Gonna take some time and money to get this setup right!
@@IRONCLADRC It seems like the bigger a twin mono is the more tricky!

the right thing to do is keep 3.5v LVC and prop down. That's a lot of prop. we know because its dropping voltage so much.
