    Fantastic idea! Love your handiwork B, always got a creative workaround for everything. Keep it up man, loving it ❤️❤️

    Very nice! I'm not a fan of the plastic breakaway screws but I bought a 25 pack of M3 and M4 plastic screws and nuts at Home Depot for a few dollars so I have a lifetime supply considering I maybe run boats once a month. I always keep them handy in my pit box whenever I go play with my boats, but I can see how this is a very useful mod. I love your "out of the box" ideas Big "B"!

      @@IRONCLADRC back from the lake awesome run, 2 water pickups on one coil on the engine she’s cool. Swapped the turn fins for trim tabs , what a fun boat now , 360s no problem , it’s getting iron clad , my first boat and my favourite, the M41 is nice also , should have me V1 this week, have a good one🍻

  • @SteveLane61
    @SteveLane61 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Brother THIS IS GENIUS!! Where do you get these ideas from? I hate those nylon breakaway screws. They're expensive, the nuts never really tighten, and I've had them 'snap' on occasions without even hitting anything hard (just the water pressure).
    This simple mod is awesome 👌 Thanks so much for sharing Big B. And the bonus is you get to do some file work! 😂👍

  • @douglaselliott8298
    @douglaselliott8298 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Simple genius. I wonder why the manufacturer/engineers did not think of it in the first place? Or did they honestly think everyone would keep carrying/buying their $5.00 bag of 5 plastic screws when a micro-sized zip-tie or a tied rubber band will save the day.

    Great mod there Big B! I'm new to your channel here in Australia and lovin it! I just ran my first rc boat-Recoil 2 shreddy, AWSOME BOAT! Unfortunately I snapped the push rod connector bolt (the 1mm bolt which is in the black alloy arm from rudder) The rudder did kick up also. Is there a beefier option or mod for 'push rod to rudder connection assembly" ?

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used these.www.ebay.com/itm/162723856565?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ro7lsaJmQ1O&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=yQkZS9FcQay&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY You'll need to drill out the rudder arm to accommodate the larger connector.

    Zip ties also work as a replacement for nylon screws

  • @Dr_Jet
    @Dr_Jet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd set it up so that it's tight enough to cut through the 'gator's hide, but kick back when it hits his skull. You don't want to be stuck ON the 'gator at that point..... 🙄🤣

  • @ryankephart8325
    @ryankephart8325 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The new Recoil 2 already has this done, it also uses the plastic screw to prevent overtightening the bottom bolt.

    What brand turn fins are those they look good and I would say they are more stable than the stock ones.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There actually a little big for the boat to be completely honest I'd go with a large turn fin over the xl like I have. I had to modify the mounting bracket quite a bit for fit.

  • @nossrc5638

    I have rudders that come from the factory that way and I tried it on my Sonicwake and it didn't work, maybe because of too much speed and jumps on each lap it went backwards and I didn't want to tighten it too much so as not to hurt the transome if I hit something it works for me the 4s boats I hope it works for you

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The top screw needs to be fairly tight. Lock-tite is a must. Gonna test thus evening

    • @nossrc5638
      @nossrc5638 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IRONCLADRC yes I know but I'm just telling you my experience and as I told you I have rudders that already come from the factory with that system and it works very well because the braket also has its trick to tighten it, good luck !!!

    What about using a small spring? It'll automatically go back to down position.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir that would work great. Pro racers use a spring/springs in races to retract the rudder. It's gotta be a heavy duty thick spring for it to work I've seen 2 springs one on each side of the rudder. Thanks for watching
