I’m a seventh day Adventist- I keep the sabbath every week. But after being in the church where one of our core values is to worship on the Lord on the sabbath and rest. I feel like I have become luke warm in my faith and lost the meaning of the sabbath. The fact that a non SDA is inspiring me to continue serving the Lord in the way He asks of us and is showing their children the glory of keeping the sabbath makes me feel happy and inspired. Thank you for being willing to share!
“Christianity” has lost its way - the Anointed fulfills prophecy, not replaces. He fulfills Passover as the high priest who delivers His people into the final promised land of heaven, Firstfruits as the blessed firstborn (Psalm 110), and eventually fulfilling the Lord’s Day of Judgment as described in the prophets - Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles to rule the new heaven and earth. Daniel describes that in 490 years the Anointed will warn Israel before a second destruction and elimination of the temple with sacrifices for 2,300 years. I believe Yeshua reigned in a 1k year kingdom of heaven as prophesies, and the second judgement will take place 1.3k years afterwards. Hope this was interesting! Shalom ❤
I am Jewish and grew up observing Shabbat. My Husband and I have a 4 year old daughter and find it so important for our family unit that we observe Shabbat every Friday night. My Israeli father in law always cooks a large delicious meal, we have Challah, kosher wine, say prayers, and spend quality family time together. Such a special part of our entire week!
My husband and I own a restaurant and we closed on sundays so we and our workers can go to church, and the Lord has blessed us!! Most of our costumers wants us to open on Sunday but we are putting God first 🥰
Sabbath is sundown Friday to Saturday sundown. It's not Sunday. Trust me ive been there but I've done my research. If you want to know more go to pastor Charles Dowell.
Hi! The Lord God established the 7th day Sabbath at creation, and we will continue to celebrate the seventh-day Sabbath in Heaven. We receive a special blessing by honoring and keeping holy the day He set aside. Try it out & see how He blesses you!!
I'm Christian and I grew up keeping the Sabbath. Now I keep the Sabbath with my own family. We attend service on Saturday and we rest from everything on Sabbath. No chores, no activities, no screens, just spending time with the L-d and reading scripture, singing worship songs. It's beautiful. My husband cooks the Friday night dinner. We have a special lunch after the Saturday service and I will prepare a dessert before sunset on Friday for that lunch on Saturday. It is such a blessing 🙏🏻
"I genuinely think that the world can change one meal at a time." This literally gave me goosebumps! It made me think of the different times I've watched and witnessed my own life & the lives of others change & transform around the dinner table for the Kingdom of God. I LOVE that you use your Shabbats to invite others in to build lasting and powerful community!
Milena I love this so much! My husband and I have been craving a Christian “group” and we have had groups fall apart over and over, but the lay out u create for your family and friends on every Friday night as routine and a tradition is SO beautiful and you’re doing SUCH great work all for the glory of God! Welcoming people into your home and dining with them, sharing the Bible with them and praying and talking about your walks is so beautiful and a serious inspiration to me. This is a dream life I want to create in my own home too. Sharing it with different people each time too is just so Christ like and awesome! Love u guys
I was born into a Seventh Day Adventist family and I’ve always loved it. We have vesper Friday nights where we get together to enter Sabbath and go to church on Saturday. I miss my family since they’re now overseas but having my church family is always a win. 🕊️✨
I never expected it to be, but I think this may be one of my top favorite videos of all time from you ♥️ your pure joy talking about this is so inspiring and makes me want to pray pray pray that the Lord help guide my husband and I so that one day we can implement sabbath days and the dinners! What a beautiful thing that’s so overlooked nowadays, just inviting people familiar AND new into your home to have beautiful meaningful conversation! You are the best big sister I’ve never had! Thank you for always sharing how God guides you and your family ♥️
Thank you Milena for openly sharing what the Lord is leading you in and encouraging other’s to faithfully walk in obedience to what He is calling them to individually. You are a blessing to me and my journey with the Lord!
I'm so happy that you are keeping the shabbat , almost 3 yrs ago as a Christian the Holy Spirit convicted me , I was worried of how my husband will react but I'm so glad that He was on board, my children love it from day 1. We also attend church on Sunday.
growing up i had Shabbat dinners with my Jewish friends, now as a follower of Yeshua Messiah our family observers the sabbath as well! i love seeing you grow as a follower of Christ. my husband and i have been on this journey of Torah observance for 3 years now. It is such a blessing to see others following the ancient paths as well, and walking as our Messiah walked. May Yah (God) continue to bless you and your family, Milena!
As a Messianic Jew this warms my heart so much. I don’t have words. It means the world to me to you do this when I’ve never known how to navigate Shabbat when none of my friends do it.
@@sbragdon212 yeah I’ve actually never met another Messianist! You’re probably the first person I’ve ever met (virtually haha) who is. I guess because I’m Australian there was a lot of cultural assimilation even though we had heavy Jewish immigration and so I don’t even really know any other Jewish people. I don’t even love in a small country town or anything. Kind of sad tbh
"The world is changed one meal at a time." WOW yes x1000 i could not agree more. The Lord gave us the dinner table to be witnesses to Him and share in His love with others through food and fellowship. God bless your shabbats always sweet Milena ❤
I think it’s beautiful your heart is wanting to obey His commandment of resting. It’s inspiring to see how it can be done especially in such a fast paced time. We all can benefit from resting in His presence and honoring what He called us to do. What a beautiful heart posture🫶🏽
Me too! I’ve been an Adventist my entire life and sometimes I think we take it for granted and forget that the Sabbath is truly a CELEBRATION and a joy! I love having a day where I don’t have to worry about cooking or cleaning or work and just rest from my usual weekly activities. I couldn’t imagine my life without Sabbath.

Same here! I seriously look forward to it every week now at 22 years old, when I used to dread it up to when I was maybe 17. It's such a blessing. 🤍
Me too! For me, the Sabbath is also the highlight of my week and it’s just so lovely going to church in the morning and spending the afternoon with my family. Greetings from Austria!
I just want to encourage you, Milena, it's amazing that you started observing Shabbat! We've been doing this in our home for about 7 years and the Lord has really used it to bless us. It is amazing to spend the whole day with Him. Even though we're not perfect, I'm so glad for celebrating Shabbat. Just as you said, there is joy and peace in it, it is something that the Lord intended for us. It is so sad for me that some people see it as a "law" thing when actually there is so much freedom in it. Glory to Yeshua ❤️
Soo inspirational!!🙏🏼 in Germany we actually have our rest day on Sunday. Everything is closed, except some restaurants or gas stations. You have to get groceries the day before. I love this because it makes it easier to rest on this day. You have to take it slow. We go to church in the morning and it feels always like a celebration. After that we mostly eat something nice like barbecue, sometimes we order food to rest from cooking and then we try to do family and quality time without phones or tv. Often we will have guests or be at someone’s house to built community. It makes such a difference! but so many people in Germany don’t unterstand that Christian tradition and fight for everything to be open every day in the week.
hallo from a fellow german. I agree with you, i love the feeling of sundays in germany. Also when people go hiking, just walking in nature and going to the cemetry on sunday. I‘m 23 years old and with every year i appreciate our sundays more. Like you said, there are people who dont seem to understand and appreciate our sundays. I think a lot of people dont understand when they are younger and think shops being closed is bad. I also have an italian friend who always complains that she can go shopping on sundays in italia when she is there for vacation and „terrible“ germany doesnt let her. I think it would really help society when we remind others why we rest and spend time with loved ones and the lord on sundays.
Same in Poland! I think it's the same in most Europe because of it's strong Christian-Catholic influence and history. It became a tradition that even non-Christian adopted
I've been doing my best to keep Sabbath since learning more about it a few years ago after learning the history of where things changed for Christians. I also keep it from Friday sundown and it was so cool to learn about how God defines the beginning and end of a day! But yes, regardless of when people decide to do it, we need to have a day truly for the Lord and rest 🙏 bless you sis for sharing ❤
Thankyou for this video. Im also a Torah and Sabbath observing Yashua Ha Moschiah follower. We make our Sabbath special by lighting candles and saying the Shabbat prayer in Hebrew and also English. Im stoked to see other Yashua followers doing this. We are all grafted into the seed of Abraham.
Wow Milena I’m in awe you have mature a lot sister and I’m so proud of you. I used to do Shabbat and my son still asks me to do it and watching this video has made me wanting to do it again ❤
This is so beautiful and the growth in you is absolutely beautiful to watch. I can't wait to implement this. I went to shabbat a while ago and knew it was want I wanted to do with our family/friends! This is motivation to do it!
Thank you for sharing!!!!! My family practice sabbath Friday sun down to Saturday sun down and it’s so refreshing to see others enjoying rest as well. 😊
hello dear. I‘m from the southwest in germany and here it is by law that sunday all shops are closed and nobody works (beside people like nurses ofc). So we celebrate sabbath on sunday and also partly on saturday with not working on that day aswell
Hi, I’m a seventh day Adventist and we keep the sabbath as God did after creation from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown as well. We go to church on Saturday instead of Sunday, & we also make a special lunch meal on Saturdays and make it a special day for our families. Fridays evening are always so relaxing and beautiful to just start the rest day. My little one (4 years old) even now always looks forward to Sabbath because it’s literally the best day of the week (& we intentionally make it so). So happy so see you keeping it as well :) it’s such a blessing to our family and I’m sure it is to yours as well! Beautiful memories being made that our kids can look back to as well ❤
what day is shabbat for you? I am a seventh day adventist christian, so we do sabbath from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset and go to church on Saturday.
sundown Friday officially begins our sabbath and we do shabbat dinner that evening as well and our sabbath continues to sundown Saturday and we head to church Sunday morning 🤎
@@busrayalavacit is based on the scripture. Exodus 20 discusses the 10 Commandments. The 4th Commandment tells us to rest on the Seventh-Day (Saturday) which is Sabbath. You should not do any work. The Lord made the heavens and the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th Day and has blessed the 7th Day as Sabbath. It is truly a literal gift from God. Research even shows that Sabbath keepers live longer 😊
Melina you're so inspirational. I absolutely love this. Thank you for your uploads, thank you for taking the time to vlog these videos. As someone who don't have much persons to look up to as a christian you've filled that gap for me. Thank you so much.
Love to see it ❤ I grew up keeping the sabbath day from friday night to Saturday night. My husband and I both are teaching our kids , we do the candle lighting prayer, bread, wine, and pray over our kids, so far and recite other prayers. Our oldest is almost 3 and he always does the prayers with us as well as blow his toddler shofar 💕
Christ-follower here (not Jewish) and my husband and I have been practicing biblical (OT & NT) Sabbath since 2017! Last year, we started observing the biblical feasts too and it's been so transformative. I am continually amazed at how white-washed our way of following Jesus has become in the West and love going back to the Bible and learning about my Rabbi and His ways! I highly recommend the following resources: any Sabbath-related podcast episodes from John Mark Comer and the book "Subversive Sabbath: The Surprising Power of Rest in a Nonstop World" by A.J. Swoboda. Also, Shabbat in Your Home from Paul Wilbur Ministries here on TH-cam is helpful. Shalom to everyone on their faith journey!
In Europe sunday is considered the seventh day of the week and in Germany every single shop or store is closed on Sundays and the Citys are really quiet and I have to say, I enjoy it a lot. There is also this tradition of a long sunday breakfast and a sunday walk after lunchtime for a lot of families. It really is a special day and businesses have tried for a loooong time to change this but the church has always come through so far.
Milena! I had tears in my eyes listening to you talk about being invited into someone else’s home to experience their family Shabbat. I think that is so beautiful and how God meant it for family and community. Your passion and sensitivity towards listening to the Holy Spirit is inspiring. Your voice in sharing all you have been doing in your faith is much needed by lots of people. I appreciate you being bold and sharing these topics and giving us a glimpse into your spiritual journey. God has placed you here and spoken into your life to be able to speak to others for such a time as this! Thank you Milena!
This was great ! Such a blessing! I suggested to my husband for us to start a sabbath as a family! I love your advice on how to include our children! And how to give ourselves permission to rest esp with small kids
In Germany on Sunday all the stores are closed and people are not working. I love it so much! Sundays are just the best thing. Every thing just slows down and prepares you for the next week. ♥️
Thank you sister for sharing. I think it is beautiful how your family is honoring the Lord. I have found that keeping the day of rest how good i feel and then when i start the first day of the week we go to church what a great way to end and start a new week . We start and end with the Lord our God.
Thank you so much for sharing your preparation for Shabbat as I have always followed the Sabbath with my church but sometimes I still don't always feel rested but it just really reminded me to take time out and strip it all back to basics. Thank you so much my sister in Christ Jesus. God bless x
Milena I'm SO amazed by what the Lord has done through the years in you and your heart and in your walk with Him! Your life is a TRUE testimony of sanctification! Thank you Lord for being able to witness that and wait on Him to be transformed as we chase after Him every day! Be blessed sister
This brings me joy and happiness to see!!! Thank you!!!! I would love for you to pray for me and my family! We are going through it lately intercessory prayers would be a blessing!!!!! Thank you!
Milena, thank you so much for this. I've learned that taking a sabbath is very important for me, and learning about your family's traditions is so inspiring for keeping Jesus at the center of my sabbath.
It’s good to see other Christian’s observing the sabbath. My husband and I started doing this. We typically visit family, hangout, and not spend money. We do this from Friday sun down to Saturday sun down.
This is great! I'm a Jewish believer in Jesus/Yeshua and it's great knowing more and more believers in Jesus/Yeshua are starting to have Shabbat. I definitely agree with doing things that bring you joy, such as the things you've mentioned jogging and knitting. I personally paint or draw during Shabbat. Challah is obviously also amazing too! :)
Hello! Quick question! Do you all do communion at the Shabbat dinner? If so, when does it get introduced and what do you use? Thanks! Also, from your other video you asked if you should do another Shabbat video… yes please!😊❤️
Same More Christians are desiring to honor the day as in scripture which Jews have always done (on Fri/Saturday) More Christians are “getting back to basics”💛
If I’m remembering correctly: Shabbat is traditional of Jewish origin and it Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. A Sabbath is typically Sunday and of Christian origin.
I think the Jewish sabbath is a little more strict because it is based on Mosaic Law (Old Testament laws), so it has more structure. Christian sabbath is more about the “heart” of the sabbath, not the rules, so it’s generally considered a day of rest. There’s probably more to it, but hopefully that helps a little!
I used to do Shabbat dinners on Friday night because my father is Jewish. We had prayer in Hebrew, we drank communion, had challah bread, didn’t do any chores/cooking until basically Sunday morning, and watched a movie together after Shabbat dinner. As a Christian I so badly want to start that tradition with my family, but not with all the “rules”. More like the way Milena and her family celebrate it. And as someone else commented make it “more about the heart”. I think Shabbat is beautiful and more people should practice it.
Amazing to see this! My husband and I also do Shabbat as true Christians and do something extremely similar. I’m happy to see another Christian doing this. I am a Messianist = bible follower and believer that God says what He means and means what He says from Genesis to Revelation. Shabbat is included in this based on the 4th commandment to “Remember My Sabbath”. God gave Sabbath for man to rest in Him. I take this seriously because God does. Wow, thank you Jesus for paying off my debt! I am so incredibly grateful yet undeserving of this amazing gift of eternal life! 🙌 ❤
I am heavily inspired by you! Thank you for sharing your faith, traditions, love & reverence for the Lord. I literately tear up thinking about how my big family will adapt to many of these Godly ideas. Thank you. Such an honor.
I am new to this site, but i am an older christian woman who loves seeing a channel that invites sharing of Gods words and how we each put that word into practice. Thank you
I was raised in the south and we eat as a family every Sunday after church. I’m starting to realize how much I take it for granted and how many people out there don’t prioritize rest and time with their family.
This couldn’t have come at a better time. I can’t believe this video has been up for 9 months and I’m just now seeing it. Thank you for posting on your insta story! I needed it today. I grew up keeping the Sabbath but it was in a very legalistic way. I lost my touch with it and when I went to college I fell in love with it again (but still viewed it in a very legalistic manner) just recently my husband and I have been feeling called back to it but I’ve struggled at not being legalistic about. Jesus has broken some chains for sure already but I still had some mindset that didn’t allow me to really dive deep into my Sabbath. So, all that to say thank you. Thank you for making this video. I had been wondering about your Sabbath and I am definitely very inspired now to keep the Sabbath in a manner that honors God.
Milena, thank you so much for sharing! I would highly encourage every believer to return to a Biblical Sabbath (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown) and look up who changed “the Lord’s day” to Sunday and why. May the Father bless you and the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth!
This was absolutely beautiful!! Unfortunately, my husband is not christian and I can't have this experience 😭. Please keep my husband in your prayers and that one day he may see the Lord and we can celebrate as a family Sabbath day.
My family keeps the Fathers commands, which includes honoring His Shabbat. Since having come into this walk in His truth I can’t tell you how much He has blessed us. Deu 11:26 tells us He has set before us a blessing and a curse. Blessings for keeping His commands and a curse for disobedience. While Messiah has set us free from the punishment of disobedience we still experience these blessings and curses here on earth.
Over here in Germany, everything is closed down in Sundays and celebrate a "family day" often time with special food. It's always been my favorite day of the week.
I love your content and your inspirational ❤ videos 🎉 I have been keeping the Shabbat all my life from Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset ☺️🙌🏼 And I love seeing you talk about this. The Lord is working in all of us and I am going to take notes on how to set up specifically my meals and make them more special. We are always learning 😊❤
As someone who has been keeping the Sabbath her whole life, thank you for posting this video! Even now I still have things I can learn about the sabbath :)
How does this work with kids bed times ? Do u have dinner ready early and take breaks to bathe them and put them to sleep or do they have a later bed time
Can you explain your reasoning/theology behind taking communion as a family? In my college theology class we talked a bit about communion and I remember my professor saying something about how couples should not take communion at their wedding unless all are invited/provided to take communion because it is a practice to unite the church body of Christ. We also talked about how gatherings in homes are not “church”, unless the sacraments are being practiced (communion and baptism) so I am just wondering if you or Jordan have more info for me about communion in the home in this type of situation?
That’s a great question, I’d also be interested in their answer. Because different sects of Christianity have different definitions of it. (Catholics believe in the true presence of Jesus and it is a sacrament, while other Christian’s vary on what they believe it is or means)
It's interesting to hear that gatherings in homes are not classified as church gatherings. Paul mentioned people in his letters who had churches in their homes. I wonder whether your professor believes that those weren't real churches either.
This is so beautiful milena! And convicting! My family has been so busy lately & we’ve all be feeling it negatively. I’d love to start doing something like this
I love this video. I Am not jewish, but I've been really enjoying and learning so much about Judaism. Its such a beautiful religion, I never knew!!!! Anyway. I think its the love, community, discipline, love for god and his people. I also love the day of rest. Just a day to spend with family, unwind, pray, and practice self care.
Such a beautiful message🤍 Could you please please please link where your dress and apron are from? I have felt moved lately by the lord to start wearing dresses around my home and I’m in love with this outfit🤍🪴
This is so good! Keep doing videos like this please! The Lord has been teaching me so much and working so much in my heart this past year and watching your videos has aligned with everything he was spreading telling me so well! My hunger for scripture is louder than ever before and I litterally feel Jesus’s hand on my life!
In Jan 2021 I had this epiphany about honoring the sabbath while reading through Genesis. God is SOOOO detailed and I wanted to honor what HE said was the sabbath. We started that same Friday night doing very similarly what you showed. The prayers are my favorite part! Even my teenager was asking “What’s for Shabbat dinner this week?!” It has so richly blessed us. Often we play games too. Ive noticed more Christians are coming to similar revelations and it’s exciting. God said the Sabbath are His appointed (holy) day! He invites us weekly!
What a lovely video ❤ I have a question about the kids being involved in your shabbat dinner. Do they stay for the entire time or do they go off and play/go to bed? Are they involved in the question time? Basically how do you keep the focus on the guests with children around? ❤
Love this! My husband and I do this too especially since having a baby, we really wanted more structure in terms of dinner and rest and prayer, just being more intentional! We also started taking communion together as well. 🥰♥️ Our biggest thing was not making it a legalistic thing that the church commands you must do in order to be saved, but more so about our love for Jesus and wanting to honor Him! 🙏🏻 Question- what will you do if there is a family member or friends bday that is celebrating on Friday night? Like say they want to go out to dinner? Will that still count as your Shabbat dinner or do you politely decline? I’ve been a little confused about that aspect! Like if family or friends invite us to do something Friday night, should we not go have that community? Should we go after dinner? Would love your input!
I am curious as well, we have started to do ours on Sunday because a lot of our friends do things on Fridays and saturdays and so we picked Sunday because most people don’t plan things on that day
If this helps, we are flexible with our Sabbath routine if there is something special that comes up, like a wedding, birthday, etc. but we draw the line there because we find that being outside the home and socializing does not give us the rest we need each week. We are introverts however so it's easier for us to rest in the traditional way than I think it is for extroverted folks. We decline invitations if it's something that could happen any other day of the week or it happens regularly and would consistently take us away from Sabbath rest or lead us down that road. We really try to keep the balance of loving God and loving others well so not being so strict with Sabbath that those in our life feel unloved, but you also have to prioritize God first and your own family before extended family and friends. Ask our Father to show you what to do, He is so good and leads us in His ways!
I don't think the Sabbath day should be taken lightly. Since it's written in the 10 commandments it is important to God. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11 KJV Why would God put it in the 10 commandments if he didn't care how or when we did the Sabbath? For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:18-19
And about your question... I think that God should always be our priority. If the Sabbath is important to Him then we should always keep it holy! So if there is a celebration where I know that there are people who are maybe non christians or some drink alcohol and party, I wouldn't go. If it is a family gathering with like minded people who worship God and keep it holy together and start Shabbat then why not do it together. ❤

It is often claimed that “God instituted the Sabbath in Eden” because of the connection between the Sabbath and creation in Exodus 20:11. Although God’s rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future Sabbath law, there is no biblical record of the Sabbath before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. Nowhere in Scripture is there any hint that Sabbath-keeping was practiced from Adam to Moses. The Word of God makes it quite clear that Sabbath observance was a special sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested” (Exodus 31:16-17). In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12-14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation of Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day” (Deuteronomy 5:15). God’s intent for giving the Sabbath to Israel was not that they would remember creation, but that they would remember their Egyptian slavery and the Lord’s deliverance. Note the requirements for Sabbath-keeping: a person placed under that Sabbath law could not leave his home on the Sabbath (Exodus 16:29), he could not build a fire (Exodus 35:3), and he could not cause anyone else to work (Deuteronomy 5:14). A person breaking the Sabbath law was to be put to death (Exodus 31:15; Numbers 15:32-35). An examination of New Testament passages reveals four important points concerning the Sabbath: 1) Whenever Christ appears in His resurrected form and the day is mentioned, it is always the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1, 9, 10; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1, 13, 15; John 20:19, 26). 2) The only times the Sabbath is mentioned from Acts through Revelation, the occasion is Jewish evangelism, and the setting is usually a synagogue (Acts 13-18). Paul wrote, “To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews” (1 Corinthians 9:20). Paul did not go to the synagogue to fellowship with and edify the saints, but to convict and save the lost. 3) After Paul states, “From now on I will go to the Gentiles” (Acts 18:6), the Sabbath is never again mentioned. 4) Instead of suggesting adherence to the Sabbath day, the remainder of the New Testament implies the opposite (including the one exception to point 3, above, found in Colossians 2:16). Looking more closely at point 4, above, will reveal that there is no obligation for the New Testament believer to keep the Sabbath and will also show that the idea of a Sunday “Christian Sabbath” is also unscriptural. As mentioned, there is one time the Sabbath is mentioned after Paul began to focus on the Gentiles, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ” (Colossians 2:16-17). The Jewish Sabbath was abolished at the cross where Christ “canceled the written code, with its regulations” (Colossians 2:14). Our freedom from Sabbath-day regulations is repeated more than once in the New Testament: “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord” (Romans 14:5-6a). “But now that you know God-or rather are known by God-how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years” (Galatians 4:9-10). Some claim that a mandate by Emperor Constantine in AD 321 “changed” the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. On what day did the early church meet for worship? Scripture never mentions any Sabbath (Saturday) gatherings by believers for fellowship or worship. However, there are passages that mention the first day of the week. For instance, Acts 20:7 states that “on the first day of the week we came together to break bread.” In 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul gives this instruction: “On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income.” Since Paul designates this offering as “service” in 2 Corinthians 9:12, this collection must have been linked with the Sunday worship service of the Christian assembly. Historically, Sunday, not Saturday, was the normal meeting day for Christians in the church, and its practice dates back to the first century. The Sabbath was given to Israel, not the church. The Sabbath is still Saturday, not Sunday, and has never been changed. The Sabbath is part of the Old Testament Law, and Christians are free from the bondage of the law (Galatians 4:1-26; Romans 6:14). Sabbath-keeping is not required of the Christian-be it Saturday or Sunday. The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord’s Day (Revelation 1:10), celebrates the new creation, with Christ as our resurrected Savior. The apostle Paul said that each individual Christian should decide whether to observe a Sabbath rest: “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind” (Romans 14:5). We are to worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday.
I am Christian but would love to adopt this tradition. The only thing stopping me is that I work as a Christian youth worker on a Friday night, it’s our biggest night at work as we outreach to over 100 teenagers so I couldn’t give it up so when would you suggest I do it instead? I did think maybe a Shabbat breakfast on the Saturday morning? What are everyone’s thoughts? X
I can see how much joy you have in explaining all of this, I absolutely love it! I want to try and do this with my family but my fiancé and I live separately and one side of the family is a little more difficult to wrangle than the other haha
Same, I'm also SDA and this is so inspiring. Happy Sabbath my friend 😊
I’m SDA too!! Love seeing non SDAs keeping the real Sabbath!!
Me too!
Same! :)
SDA heree:)
I’m nowhere near marriage or motherhood but to see you cultivate a God centered community for your family and others is beautiful!!!!
As a Jew, I love to see this. Christianity and Judaism is so similar 💕 thank you for bringing light to such a holy topic
@@all_things_sisraquelwhy does it matter what day
Hi! The Lord God established the 7th day Sabbath at creation, and we will continue to celebrate the seventh-day Sabbath in Heaven.
We receive a special blessing by honoring and keeping holy the day He set aside. Try it out & see how He blesses you!!
Why can’t it be on a Sunday ?
@@celia7501it’s was Saturday but changed to a Sunday when Jesus rose again 🥰
I'm Christian and I grew up keeping the Sabbath. Now I keep the Sabbath with my own family. We attend service on Saturday and we rest from everything on Sabbath. No chores, no activities, no screens, just spending time with the L-d and reading scripture, singing worship songs. It's beautiful. My husband cooks the Friday night dinner. We have a special lunch after the Saturday service and I will prepare a dessert before sunset on Friday for that lunch on Saturday. It is such a blessing 🙏🏻
Me too❤
Why did you put a dash between the L and D for the Lord?
"I genuinely think that the world can change one meal at a time." This literally gave me goosebumps! It made me think of the different times I've watched and witnessed my own life & the lives of others change & transform around the dinner table for the Kingdom of God. I LOVE that you use your Shabbats to invite others in to build lasting and powerful community!
I love how you and your husband model biblical principles in your everyday life. this is amazing.
I’m filled with joy to see that Sabbath is being shared with us🌸 Thank you for this🥹
This video was everything I needed! Hosting our first Shabbat Dinner tomorrow night! So excited. :D
How did it go? Congratulations ❤
My kids are the fourth generation in my family to observe the seventh day sabbath. It has been such a blessing! ❤ Thank you for this beautiful video.
Such a beautiful setting 🤎
Thank you for being so raw and real it's so refreshing! God bless everyone reading this!🫶
and may god bless you too. 🤍
I’m a Seventh-day Adventist too! It’s always a blessing to observe the Sabbath. 🙏
I love all the dress you have been wearing. So simple yet classy and look so comfy.
thank you so much 🤍 they truly are SO comfy!!
where is it from
As a Messianic Jew this warms my heart so much. I don’t have words. It means the world to me to you do this when I’ve never known how to navigate Shabbat when none of my friends do it.
I’m Messianist too!!! It’s hard to find like-minded followers these days 🤗
I am too 🥺🙌🏼❤️ love finding people in our community because it’s so easy to feel alone in it!
I’m an SDA and I remember as a kid dreading sabbath but now I can’t imagine living life without it.
I’m also SDA. I definitely appreciate the Sabbath sooo much more as an adult. I can’t imagine going hard 24/7. God knew we needed rest! ❤
Me too! For me, the Sabbath is also the highlight of my week and it’s just so lovely going to church in the morning and spending the afternoon with my family. Greetings from Austria!
Amen! 🙏🏾
Beautiful memories being made that our kids can look back to as well ❤
Amen! Happiest of Sabbath dear. Enjoy your Sabbath today 💝
Hi! SDA here too! Also have a four year old who is excited about sabbath every week!
SDA here too!!🙋🏻♀️
Me too!!!
Me too! Such a beautiful and blessed day 💕✨🌸
what day is shabbat for you? I am a seventh day adventist christian, so we do sabbath from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset and go to church on Saturday.
sundown Friday officially begins our sabbath and we do shabbat dinner that evening as well and our sabbath continues to sundown Saturday and we head to church Sunday morning 🤎
So, you are seventh day Adventist?
@@MilenaCiciottican you go more into depth on this?? Maybe on your stories? 🥹🙏🏼
What do you base it on? I mean is it according to something you follow or just whatever works for you?
@@busrayalavacit is based on the scripture. Exodus 20 discusses the 10 Commandments. The 4th Commandment tells us to rest on the Seventh-Day (Saturday) which is Sabbath. You should not do any work. The Lord made the heavens and the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th Day and has blessed the 7th Day as Sabbath. It is truly a literal gift from God. Research even shows that Sabbath keepers live longer 😊
My family and I have been keeping the Sabbath for 5 years and we love it so much! I love having a peek into your prep day, it’s so beautiful!
Interesting! I didn’t know Europe uses a different calendar with Sunday as the seventh day and Monday as the first day.
I'm seventh day adventist and we keep the Sabbath too - Happy Sabbath! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is so special! I also keep the Sabbath and it's always a blessing! I can't wait to practice this with my future family some day!
This is the best thing Ive seen on youtube in quite a while! Thanks for inspiring us all 🙏
This brings me joy and happiness to see!!!
Sorry if I sound ignorant but what’s the difference between Christian and Jewish Sabbath
Same
More Christians are desiring to honor the day as in scripture which Jews have always done (on Fri/Saturday)
More Christians are “getting back to basics”💛
If I’m remembering correctly: Shabbat is traditional of Jewish origin and it Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. A Sabbath is typically Sunday and of Christian origin.
I think the Jewish sabbath is a little more strict because it is based on Mosaic Law (Old Testament laws), so it has more structure. Christian sabbath is more about the “heart” of the sabbath, not the rules, so it’s generally considered a day of rest. There’s probably more to it, but hopefully that helps a little!
The main difference, I would say, is that the center is Jesus Christ. It’s not for justification.
I love this! I love how you are teaching as well as showing others. I will definitely be implementing this into my household.
Thanks for talking and sharing about this topic. And showing how this looks in your household ❤
you have truly encouraged me to incorporate this into our lives and schedule! Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable!
I am a 7 day Adventist Christian and sabbath is such a blessing ♥️
This is absolutely beautiful and the biggest blessing- I have been praying for this video to get a visual of sabbath! Thank you ❤
Yes! Love my 7th day rest! 💕
We just take the day to chill, maybe go to the beach or just hang out at home.
It truly is a blessing!
God is all powerful and doesnt have humanly qualities like getting tired. So that is purely not true that he needed a rest.
@@busrayalavac um….. I never said He needed to rest. I said I enjoy my rest.
Thank you so much for posting this! I love that you are a beacon for keeping Jesus at the center of our lives! 🩵
Would love to see a look book or another fashion related video from you! Obsessed with your new style. Modestly is such a beautiful thing!
No because I loved the entire outfit today❤
Thank you so much for this video!!! I want to try doing this after hearing what you all do as a family and how much joy it brings you all :)
This was absolutely beautiful!! Unfortunately, my husband is not christian and I can't have this experience 😭. Please keep my husband in your prayers and that one day he may see the Lord and we can celebrate as a family Sabbath day.
Im in the same boat lovely. I will pray for your husband as well as mine that they would see the Lord and want to serve him. God Bless 🙏
I love your content and your inspirational ❤ videos 🎉
I have been keeping the Shabbat all my life from Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset ☺️🙌🏼 And I love seeing you talk about this. The Lord is working in all of us and I am going to take notes on how to set up specifically my meals and make them more special. We are always learning 😊❤
I'd love a list of all the meals you serve that you're able to prepare the day before and serve easily the next evening.
As someone who has been keeping the Sabbath her whole life, thank you for posting this video! Even now I still have things I can learn about the sabbath :)
This is so beautiful to see! Definitely my sign to start resting on sabbath. Such a blessing🤍
Yes! Shabbat is so important that it's literally one of the ten commandments! Every since moving to Israel it's been a weekly highlight
Sabbath isn’t only Jewish it’s from the Old Testament and it has been practised in Christianity for a long time.
Where is your apron from? I love it!
Absolutely beautiful i'm excited to implement Sabbath again!
Beeswax candles have a natural scent to them, you could see if you like that!
You’re so intentional with your relationship with the Lord. You are a wonderful woman of God
So do you not clean up after the dinner? Do you leave the dishes and stuff for after the sabbath is over? ❤
Wonderful Cilantro Sauce @18:30
• 1 Tbsp olive oil
• 1 Cup Fresh Cilantro
• 1 Avocado
• 1 Lime
• 1 Tbsp Sour Cream
•1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
This makes about 3/4 cups or 6 oz
If I could like this video 1,000 times I would. This encourages me & convicts me to receive the blessing of rest!!
Such a beautiful message🤍
Could you please please please link where your dress and apron are from? I have felt moved lately by the lord to start wearing dresses around my home and I’m in love with this outfit🤍🪴
This is so good! Keep doing videos like this please! The Lord has been teaching me so much and working so much in my heart this past year and watching your videos has aligned with everything he was spreading telling me so well! My hunger for scripture is louder than ever before and I litterally feel Jesus’s hand on my life!
He was already telling me*
In Jan 2021
I had this epiphany about honoring the sabbath while reading through Genesis. God is SOOOO detailed and I wanted to honor what HE said was the sabbath.
We started that same Friday night doing very similarly what you showed.
The prayers are my favorite part!
Even my teenager was asking
“What’s for Shabbat dinner this week?!”
It has so richly blessed us.
Often we play games too.
Ive noticed more Christians are coming to similar revelations and it’s exciting.
God said the Sabbath are His appointed (holy) day!
He invites us weekly!
I needed this so much ❤
What a lovely video ❤
I have a question about the kids being involved in your shabbat dinner.
Question- what will you do if there is a family member or friends bday that is celebrating on Friday night?
Exodus 20:8-11 KJV
Why would God put it in the 10 commandments if he didn't care how or when we did the Sabbath?

Yes yes yes - best TH-cam video I’ve ever seen. No joke
An examination of New Testament passages reveals four important points concerning the Sabbath:
1) Whenever Christ appears in His resurrected form and the day is mentioned, it is always the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1, 9, 10; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1, 13, 15; John 20:19, 26).
