  • In this video we receive the outer wheel houses. Tack them in and install the Quarter panel patches.
    After a year and 4 months this W-31 has a rot free body. Now on to body parts and frame! Thanks for sticking around this far!

      My man, you need to make the trip and come check it out. I will say this - as you know - things often look much better in pictures. But hey, I'm still very proud of this save. Lots of rust repair. left .. frame, trunk, hood, doors, fenders and radiator support. oh boy..

    I saw a 1970 W-31 engine get DYNOED on a TH-cam channel called nicks garage if ya wanna check it out….the car is starting to take shape I’m getting excited to see the next phase….

    • @theautorefinery
      @theautorefinery  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes!!! I saw that video too. I occasionally have time to watch TH-cam hahah. I thought it would've made more power but numbers never lie. I have been known to rev mine a fair bit higher than 5400 just sayin.
      Im excited to move on to the next phase myself. I'm almost sick and tired of working on the shell alone.
      Thanks for watching along.

    Hello.....ive been watching these cutlass videos and would like to thank you for your ideas....I am not a body work person or welder...however...with your videos i have attempted all on my own to replace entire floor and the crossmembers as the were rotted off 3 inches from the inner rocker that was also gone...my 68 cutlass s i bought 1 year ago looked pretty good on the outside with new outer rockers and all outer body work and painted...i bought it knowing it was still a project car as i wanted a car from my teenage years and wanted to do some work to it so i could call it mine and i did all this!...sooo after doing inner rockers and doing the crossmembers then the floor 1 problem i ran into surprisingly was the floor was hitting the front universal joint, dont know how the floor turned out lower than it was previously as the floor sagged with rotten crossmembers was an easy fix tho by cutting out the floor in that spot and welded in allitle hump for more room on back of tranny .....with all that done and new interior in and lined up nicely now im working on the front clip as i had to align the doors and this is where i found another problem that maybe you could show in 1 of your videos, my problem now is when they mounted the fenders they welded brackets on the frame to mount the bottom of the fenders!!....i know there is suppose to be a "bracket" that comes from the bottom of the cowl with 2 holes to mount bottom of front fenders however mine are totally rotted away...I cannot find any pictures good enough anywhere to show how this fender mount is suppose to look like so i can maybe re create it on both sides...Thank you very much for your time doing these videos ive learned alot and you have given me the courage to do this kind of work on my dream car it means alot!!!!!!

      Well, Hello there and thank you for these kinds words. I am very humbled to learn when my efforts actually help encourage and motivate others in their projects. Are you saying that the rear of your front fenders were mounted to your frame?? I'm thinking the best and quickest way to get you some accurate pictures would be through email, send me an email and I'd be happy to send you a couple pictures of what you should have.
      our email is listed in each video description.
