I agree, plus if your working on a budget you get lots more as standard with this car even in the mid range than VWs or Skodas and in the flesh I think this car looks so much nicer.
I don't know about the British prices but in Western EU the gap between Hyundai equipment levels are horrific. If you want to have sunroof, and the 8 inch screen it costs just shy of double the base price. Other similar brands have much better scaling here at least.
Why the reviews are only with the driver! The tests should be carried out with 4 passengers because the vehicle engine's behaviour is different Or is ilegal a drive test with passengers? Listening the sound without passengers the tests should be considered as "lack of evaluation".
We don't get the i30 Tourer (Station Wagon) or the strangely named SEAT (not a chair?) here in Australia as far as I know. Guess we'll get the 'Tourer' eventually, in as much as we already have the top power 2 litre 'N' on sale, but DCT a month away so relearning gearshifts from the old days necessary (joke). Very good informative video by the way! Your big complaint, that of handling/steering would be fixed if you did what Aussie Hyundai do by re extensive recalibrating & setting by Hyundai special experts/engineers (Kia does it here too) to our particular wierdish conditions. I'd have thought your bigger market would have been on the ball, but in Oz, our conditions vary enormously & distances/high temps too!:-) ps.We 'seniors' havet he MY18/SR 1.6 turbo Premium Turbo 201hp DCT Premium hatch - enough for we 'oldies'.
So, is it better than a 2007 1.5dCi Mégane with 180k on the clock? I drove the 3 cylinder 1.0 i30, and believe it or not, my car has a smoother engine at idle and better transmission. OSV do the best reviews!
Got to say the idea of flogging a 3 cylinder turbo engine with zero power doesn't turn me on. Give me an older larger sedan with a V6 petrol with relaxed cruisy performance and space any day.
For me its all about winning other cars, getting ahead of them when the lights turn green that sort of thing, I need the automatic so I can just floor it and not bother with dipping the clutch, is this hundi good for beating those pesky bmw cars?
where did i say that? sry but you can keep your stupid hater comments boy, seat leon interior is extremely boring as well, golf only looks ok in highline and ocativa only looks ok in higher trims but still not great, look at the new a-class, look at the bmw 1series, look at mazda 3, honda civic, new auris, those are nice interiors...but if you think hyundai looks exciting, then your lvl off excitement seems to be easy shattered ;)
Markus LC so, he said that ogly black interior but he don't know there a colors on the i30 interior, just look at the mixing between the white and black in the car or even the blue one!!!
Carbuyer is struggling to climb whereas carwow is easily dominated almost to 1mil subs. Boring review by this guy. I never like him reviewing car since mat leave.
I own a 2017 i30 estate. It's an excellent car and drives / handles better than the reviewer is suggesting.
We need more of these. Cars that have space and are also efficient and aren’t unnecessarily high off the ground.
i30 is almost the perfect medium car. Very much like the japanese cars of the 90s. They are the new industry leaders from asia.
You never moan about a Golf being dull inside
finally a video I've been looking for
Sea of black plastic, guess what its the same for every single car produced today; don't see you picking on VW for the very same thing....
Apex was thinking the exact same thng
I agree, plus if your working on a budget you get lots more as standard with this car even in the mid range than VWs or Skodas and in the flesh I think this car looks so much nicer.
Yep, I don't know what wrong with them. There are other colours and better materials for seats available on planet earth. Black cloth. Urgghh!
I have a 2013. Good car, reliable. Up to 340,000km and going strong.
Nice one James, decent review of a brand that has come along leaps and bounds.
Hopefully they make an N version of this
CrazyAboutCars 84 they will
Rehan Roche cool!
They would not. It doesnt make any sense. How much they will say. 70 pieces???
No large packet of crisps?
Im thinking of buying this car and nothing more helpful than such a video, thanks.

Really good looking wagon, yet another vehicle we'll never see in the U.S.
Still James' reviews, very entertaining!
Why the reviews are only with the driver!
The tests should be carried out with 4 passengers because the vehicle engine's behaviour is different
Or is ilegal a drive test with passengers?
Listening the sound without passengers the tests should be considered as "lack of evaluation".
Yay he said frugal again, starting to see a trend
Nope, I've still no idea about how big the boot is, what don't you ACTUALLY SHOW SOMETHING BEING PUT IN THERE FFS....?
You can fit an item up to around 180cm in length.

OSV do the best reviews!
try the 1.4 t-gdi!
Competent but forgettable.
Still better than crap and forgettable.
I quite like this guy he’s a sensible informative reviewer whereas car wow is abit more fun but abit less information
Does somebody know which color is this or what do they call it?
Dual clutch automatic gearbox? Is it like saying semi auto like the auris 2008-2012. If so I am off
Most probably. I don't expect a torque converter automatic in this class. DCT (or automated manual) is the way they usually go.
Got to say the idea of flogging a 3 cylinder turbo engine with zero power doesn't turn me on. Give me an older larger sedan with a V6 petrol with relaxed cruisy performance and space any day.
They are surprisingly good and I'd rather have the fuel bill of the turbo. 1.0 litre turbo is pretty quick given how tiny it is.
Drive one and you will find it's not revvy and weak but torquey and has ample power. It's 2019 matey.....
Nice, you two can count.
For me its all about winning other cars, getting ahead of them when the lights turn green that sort of thing, I need the automatic so I can just floor it and not bother with dipping the clutch, is this hundi good for beating those pesky bmw cars?
David ha ha :)
VW have this Muppet on the payroll
Why look at the focus estate behave don't wast your time look at the mondeo estate.
i agree great car, nice design, extremely boring on the inside...
Markus LC Hhhhhhh so golf and Leon, Skoda interior looks futuristic than!! 😆😅
where did i say that? sry but you can keep your stupid hater comments boy, seat leon interior is extremely boring as well, golf only looks ok in highline and ocativa only looks ok in higher trims but still not great, look at the new a-class, look at the bmw 1series, look at mazda 3, honda civic, new auris, those are nice interiors...but if you think hyundai looks exciting, then your lvl off excitement seems to be easy shattered ;)
Markus LC Hyundai looks good ,the old one looks better, elantra gt(i30) looks better than i30 euro version
Wael Hcd-9 but not on the inside!!!
Markus LC so, he said that ogly black interior but he don't know there a colors on the i30 interior, just look at the mixing between the white and black in the car or even the blue one!!!
Audi designer doing bits
Why one would consider this car over a japanesse or european competitor?
Duncan Idaho price and warranty.
Warranty, value, proven reliability and equipment levels. Not much then.
Brilliant reliability too not like the crap Golf.
James's tradesmark Red pants more interesting than the i30.
CAR WOW
The exterior looks good but the interior is a let down -so 90s.
rabit818 you 100 pur cent completely wrong about i30 interior
Sucb a bias review. If it had a VW badfe on front he would ay its class winner
A jacket... ? is really in UK still cold ..? Opel astra sedan look's better than this car...
Would that..ah
Interiors? "Sooo booooring"
Marco Paolini Hhhhhh I got nothing to reply, dfk is that"so boring "
