Actually his biological mother abandoned him in an Orphanage. This man struggled as a youth and was incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit. When he became famous he reconnected with his mother and forgave her. It’s amazing that he wrote this song for her as if she was good to him. What an honorable man.

Yeah but sometimes you have to see things for what they are we honestly don't know why she left him there but honestly in Mexico back in those days starving to death was real she probably thought he'd at least be fed there like I said hard to criticize his mom and since made up with her I assume he probably understood her reasons lol Mexico was alot harder back then

@@josemadera3138 I disagree 100%. My moms was homeless and with a daughter when she crossed the Rio Grande in Juarez. She made it to Los Angeles by herself with a 1 year old baby girl and never once thought of giving her baby to an Orphanage.

I lost my wife of 27 years and this song is both beautiful and a gut wrenching experience. This song was one of her favorites because of when she lost her mother. Now it means something to me. It’s been 5 years since I lost her and today is actually her birthday. I still tell her how much I love her every day.

When he sang "El más triste recuerdo de Acapulco (the saddest memory from Acapulco)"is because as he was finishing a concert in that city he received the notice that his mother passed away, so there you have, his saddest memory from Acapulco. Althoug his mother abandoned him in an orphanage, and didn't love him, he did, and forgive her, so to come to think that even when he could be resentful towards her, he still compossed a crying song, a llulaby for her. You can also hear the lullaby in the chorus on the background, the humming is like a mother humming a lullaby to his son. For me this is the most beautiful song ever written

I didn't realized you had reacted to this song. Absolutely wonderful song. Powerful and so emotional. His emotional voice throughout this song always gets to me. When the audience started singing was so magical. Living in New Jersey while working in my garden I would always have music playing. Singers like Juan Gabriel, Lucero, Iglesias and others. My neighbor would laugh and tease me your an Italian from Brooklyn listening to as he would say Latina singers. You don't even know what their saying. True but I didn't need to understand I could feel the meaning. As always your reactions are priceless. You are a beautiful soul.

Same here, grew up a metal head as a Mexican born in Los Angeles, but he grew up very Mexican, and Juan Gabriel being one of the many iconic Mexican artists. Now that I'm older I can appreciate his music, and the rest of the icons of Mexico. I now realized how Mexican music is thee most powerful music; special singers/artists.
I've also came to realize how Mexico is special because, not just the talent and music but:
    Top 15 wealthiest economies
    Top 2 most visited countries
    Top 5 best gastronomy/food
Top 5 most beautiful and biodiverse countries
We are a fusion of the Aztec/Mexica and Roman empire. That fills me with passion, being proud and need of preserving the culture/heritage
Be blessed, Mexican sister and in spirit.

This is not mine but is what I think: " "Eternal Love" is a song written by Juan Gabriel. In this song he describes everything he suffered after the death of his mother. He had finished a concert in "Acapulco" when he was informed that his mother had just died. The lyrics of this song are 100% real and also the feeling that he shows when he sings it. "

Abrázame muy fuerte is good . But a great day for freedom is a masterpiece. Just like Steven Wilson's " refuge" solo

Juarez in the house - yes! I was born and raised in sister city El Paso, and of course Juan Gabriel is a legend in these parts, and deservedly so. I'm always awe-struck by the depth of his talent; he wrote/composed hits for so many other artists (and of course himself), played multiple instruments, and had a voice that had tremendous range and power, but most importantly, was unabashedly emotional and romantic. He led with his heart, no apologies. To top it off, he gave back so much to orphaned children, having been one himself. One of a kind. RIP.

Oh wow!! I'm a long time subscriber and didn't know you came from where I came from. I also was born in Juarez, Mexico and now I've been in El Paso, Tx for almost my hole life. It's awesome to know people from my neck of the woods, sort of speak. My grandmother used to take care of Juan Grabiel when he was a child. I also grew up with this type of music and listen to it till this day... Keep the great job.

Wow! I love your heartfelt reaction. I had no idea you are from Juarez! I've lived in the El Paso/Las Cruces area since 1992. People here still honor "El Divo de Juarez." Just two weeks ago the city held the Juárez Juangabrielísimo festival on the anniversary of his death. God bless you,

Music touches our hearts and souls emotionally, where words alone sometimes can't. It gives our soul wings, flight to our imagination,
and the joy of life. There's magic in the music; we need it like we need the air we breathe or the food we eat. Humans have made music
since the beginning of time. Every culture, race, and continent has music. Spanish music has a profound beauty. I fell under its spell
and fell in love with the sounds of flamenco guitar and the art of flamenco dancing while in Spain. I love hearing new songs (to me) like
Amor Eterno - thank you for sharing the music with us all.
