Your videos are so helpful. Your tone and demeanor are so beautiful and invite us to come deeper into our faith and our lives with our Lord. Please consider writing a book with your knowledge and experiences. If you have and I missed it please let me know. God bless you.
Thank you for your kind words, Karen. We’ll pass them on to Fr Columba. We’re so glad you’re enjoying the series! Father hasn’t written a book yet but who knows for the future …
I’m so happy God put you in my life Father Columba I was in need of hope and guidance which you provided I can feel the love and effort you put on your videos to lead us straigt to JESUS. Bless you and my brothers and sisters amen 🙏
I became a christian from pretty much one day to another, just shy of two years ago. It really came quick, and one thing that was challenging was prayer. To get down on my knees and talk to God was a huge leap at first! But today it´s like the coffee in the morning, just cant do without!
Around 2:30, "the *opening of the soul*, so we can...", and so on, is brilliant. I didn't know it was closed-up so tight, as to not let a little fresh air, maybe some kind guidance, meditation with God, the Father. TBH, the hinge on that lid to the soul can be so frozen for lack of use. I didn't ever know it was closed, really. But yes, it has been, to my Lord, and to my community, that whatever soul is leaking out must be quite different from the stuff inside, I reckon. My first impression was one of opening a can, but surely it ought to be less mundane as that, as if opening a door to another room...a space of sharing. Thanks for your insight on this, Padre.
Yes, exactly, so beautiful, thank you dear Father. To begin the day and throughout the day i like to call: +Come Holy Spirit please pray for me You know i cannot pray, please love for me You know i cannot love+ A beautiful counsel from our beloved Maryam of Bethlehem: +“Be attentive to the little things. Everything is big in the eyes of God.”+ Then she goes on to say: +“This morning I was troubled, because I did not feel God. It seemed as though my heart was made of iron. I was not able to think about God, and I invoked the Holy Spirit. I said: “It is You who make us know Jesus. The apostles remained a long time with Him without understanding Him, but one droplet of You made them understand Him. You will make me understand Him also.”+ What sweetness and simplicity in her words! Such beauty in the hearts of those who let God love them! +May Jesus bless you and continue to make you holy through our Mama Mary with our dear Papa Joseph+ warmest greetings and blessings +in JMJ+ Angèle 🙏🏻🕊🔥+💙+❤️+💛+🔥🕊🙏🏻
I pray regularly , it has helped me stop drinking But now I feel is God even listening am I doing anything But I'm not stopping I'm hoping that this will change soon!
Please know we're praying for you. Prayer can be difficult, but it's definitely worth it! God is most certainly listening. When it feels like He isn't there, sometimes this can be a really great test of our faith - and it gives us the opportunity to show God how much we love Him even when prayer gets really tough and we still persevere. Hopefully He will help you to feel His presence soon!
perfect time for me is early morning. my wife and I are usually up at 4 or 5a for work. she starts earlier so I have time to myself to do my reading and enjoy some time apart with christ
Here is a resource we hope can help: www.catholicnewsagency.com/resource/245522/types-of-prayer Prayer is a deep, complex, beautiful topic and we highly recommend reading some of the great books out there to help flesh out understanding of prayer. Fr Columba mentions some of them in this video: th-cam.com/video/Y8ND-xuZKI8/w-d-xo.html
I had little success with this over the years until i started going to daily Mass. (What better time to pray than right after?) Before that i was usually just trying to "get to it when i could" and of course i hardly ever would.
@@ctmcatholic thanks! Never dreamed i would ever do such a crazy thing until i found myself feeling desperate to go out and do something besides getting groceries or takeout every day. Thank you COVID!
