The red flags are the local police refusing to investigate local drug dealers, interview employee and employers, patrons and visitors. Being Māori AND a woman who is also a single parent, she is not seen as a valuable, contributing member of Aotearoa society.
So, why would the authorities bother "wasting Police resources" investigating her disappearance??
All the authorities did was "appear to have done everything they could" to take the heat off themselves.
They don't care about Māori and even less about Māori women.
It's what a force borne from the NZ Constabulary, formed to capture Māori "rebels" defending the theft of their land following the departure of the British Armed forces after Māori land confiscations.
They have a culture deeply rooted in racist beginnings that continue to this day.

Cops are always quick to judge when the people missing are depressed or on drugs, that’s just the easy way out for them but half the people I know here on the east coast smoke and are depressed or struggle with some type of mental illness. As for her jumping off the wharf is so stupid, how would she just drown herself? That’s just another easy way out for them. A lot of us on the coast are connected to gangs so I won’t be surprised that some cops are as well. This case has always stuck with me being so close to home and my heart goes out to all the whanau’s with missing loved ones out there ❤ and thank you to HUI for bringing this case back into light.

No surveillance at the pub or car park area or in town? What about last phone records and movement. To me it sounds like the police didn’t want to do nothing and treated this as mental health! They Should’ve taken this seriously. It sounds to me foul play and someone out there knows something.

It is so sad that this young woman has not been treated as a valuable human being and that her life has been treated as unworthy. This case should be notoriously investigated day in day out. No one in the police force should stop looking until she's found and her face should be on the news every week with a reward for any information 🙏 im praying for answers and that the government will step in by employing a team of investigators to relook over the whole case and hold police accoutable for destroying evidence

With only 24:26 minutes of listening to this case, there's definitely something that is not right. Sadly, this whanau doesn't have answers about Jamie's disappearance and that is heartbreaking. Not taking fingerprints is unbelievable and unacceptable, and if Police want to get into computers and phones, they do-obviously they did not even try. yeah definitely there could have been a far better investigation at the beginning all the little details of the case seem strange the out of town trips would have been costly in petrol especially only staying for 5-10 minutes between towns rings alarms , blood found, no finger prints taken in her car, Someone using her phone after she went missing its suspicious, and alot of these leads should have been followed up more thoroughly regardless of her mental health and prior drug use, Thats only another factor doesnt mean this person hasnt gone missing because of somebody has taken her and harmed her thats still relevant, and without saying it out loud the Police did assume she had committed suicide otherwise why wouldnt there be more thorough testing and investigations, This is an assumption based solely on the way the investigation was handled.

Living in a small town those people will know where those officers live perhaps the officers aren’t doing anything to protect themselves. They should get another police department involved.
