    The way the focal amp mounts is genius! More companies should do that! Another great informative video Dean!!

    The attention to detail is honestly insane! If I had the money, I’d send every car that I own straight to your workshop without a doubt! Appreciate all your work/videos, much love all the way from New Zealand ✌🏾

    Smart move breaking the builds down into individual episodes rather than one "mini movie". That's how you keep those with interests in anticipation.

    You guys are absolutely over the top meticulous with wiring. I just love it. So glad to see people taking the time and doing it right! I did install for a living and every boss I worked for hated how much time I took. Until my installs started getting noticed and people were asking for me. Keep doing it right!

    For owners of Ford F150s & superdutys, there is a rear seat release you can buy that will let the back portion of the seat drop with a pull of a strap. I believe there is a company called Builtright Industries that sells those. I got mine from a third party on Ebay. I store some tools and straps behind there. I think 5Star should carry it also if lots of Ford trucks come through. All you need it to pull on the strap to get to the back to make adjustments.

    Great video as usual. I did notice you have your saw too high for cutting. It's supposed to be just a bit taller than the thickness of the material which makes it cut easier.

    Why use the passive crossovers if its an active set-up? For safety?

    • @handymadness
      @handymadness 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dirty Bay Adventures I had same question. I can’t think of a reason. Why have a dsp if you’re not taking full advantage of it by running one channel of processing and amplification per speaker. Based on setup, all he’d need is a bass amp and then it’s fully active.

  • @Noshow.4880
    @Noshow.4880 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Solid as usual Dean. Just curios on why you don’t do a lot af active setup with such nice equipment! Is it the customers don’t want to spend the extra money for the right amount of channels on the amps? Just wanted your opinion.

    Have you ever moved a usb connection on a dsp or a controller? Im thinking of moving the connection of a dsp controller from the side to the back. Will be easier to mount it with no cables sticking out.

    I just can’t figure out why there is passive crossover when you have a dsp. Why even have a dsp if you’re not going to take full advantage of it and go one channel of processing and amplification per speaker? I run a p six and us acoustics mike in my model s. Fully active.

    Noob question but are the focal crossovers really needed with the dm-608?

    • @anicetomaldonado
      @anicetomaldonado 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends on the end result.
      For this particular build, front/rear/sub yes. To separate the mids from the tweets for the front stage, which has the component set.
      But if you were going highs/mids/sub from the amplifier the crossovers would not be necessary.

    • @YTSTK89
      @YTSTK89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It integrates the factory system with the aftermarket. The factory head unit wiring goes into the Zen, the zeb to the DSP via fiber optics (so 1 wire and not multiple RCAs) then the DSP into the 6 ch amp)
