XR650R = Best dirt bike ever made by any manufacturer ever. People that talk shit about the BRP have never rode one or are LYING...or idiots that think a 650L is a 650R.
Thanks for the video my fellow 650R rider!

Thank you SO much for this video! As a complete newbie to carbs, this was exactly what I needed after buying a neglected BRP.

Got my 02 650R out on the road this week but having a few idle issues hah still starts 1st-3rd kick and runs decent. Gotta check the air cutoff like you said. Thanks for the content and hope to keep this BRP healthy

So informative starting a rebuild on a 2001 that's been garaged since 2004. Very stock with perfect radiators and a CA plate to make the project worth the time. Only gonna cost $660 to the DMV mostly in back fees!!!!

My Clymer manual says float level should be 16 mm. How critical is this?

Thanks, I've been ripped off by too many mechanics for doing this like it was really hard to do. Glad it helped!

That is actually the stock choke plate with the spring flap removed. Some guys have still had the stock choke plate crack so it would be a good idea to replace it.

For some reason that website that you refer to doesn't work, do you know of another place where those jet charts and other information is located? Thanks For the help, great video.

Was really hoping to see some explanation about which hoses go where and all the little jets on the inlet side by where it connects to the airbox. Surprised you didn't mention spraying any carb cleaner anywhere... This is basically a video on how to disassemble and reassemble a brand new carb for no reason.

Petroleum jelly for fuel o-rings, always…why you ask? Because it mixes with fuel perfectly and doesn’t gel up

After doing everything in this video, my bike only runs on full choke. When I remove the full choke the bike shuts off. What is causing this to occur?

great video, thank you very much. Can you recommend a good source for a carb rebuild kit? I have a 2002 xr400r, XRsonly doesnt have it. The couple of kits that I've found dont give the jet sizes that are included - thank you -

Does anyone xr650r has throttle lag? When throttle quick turn 3/4 and sounds like almost chocked out? Is it normal for the stock carb?

Awesome videos! Thank very much, they are very informative. I just followed this carb rebuild video on my 2003 XRR. Using 68S and 75 Main. After I put everything back together bike starts up without issue, but when I put it in 1st it stalls out after a couple seconds. I played with the throttle screw trying it at approx 1/2 turn out all the way to 3 turns out, but no luck. It's got the 'uncorked' mods. I also removed stock air filter to make sure it was getting enough air. Any suggestions?

The car you rebuilt same as a 1995? My bike has a jetted carb and would rather have a stock build. Do you rebuild if mailed to you?

    • @divrnr

Should be the same, Any motorcycle mechanic should be able to do it. It's really easy.

would you have any idea why a carburetor wouldn't be getting any gas into the cylinder?

    • @divrnr
      @divrnr  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

number of reasons, start troubleshooting at the petcock for fuel flow and that the strainer in the tank isn't clogged. Then the float and float needle or do a full rebuild. Mine was doing that and did a rebuild and it ran perfect.

+MacADVentures I've done so much to this little carb and I still have no clue. thanks, im gonna try some shit out and see if it works. this is about a red Honda ct90 by the way. I have two and one works, one doesn't. even when I trade the other carb on the yellow one to the red one

Just paid a shop to rebuild and clean mine, got it back, wasn't running right, took it apart, still dirty as hell and wasn't rebuilt. Went back the next day and demanded my money back. SMH
