Section 107 of the Copyright Act provides the statutory framework for determining whether something is a fair use and identifies certain types of uses-such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research-as examples of activities that may qualify as fair use. Oh my gosh I just watched a little documentary on this song not long ago. It was written by Rupert Holmes who is best known for singing "Escape" (the Pina Colada song). And, yes, they ate Timothy. The song writer (Holmes) found the group & convinced a record label to let them record ONE single. Since he only had one shot to get the band noticed, they decided to write a song so messed up that it would likely get banned--and in the process generate a LOT of publicity for the band. And it worked.
Yes! The song reached #17 on the charts. It climbed the charts slowly as radio stations would play it, realize what it was about and then stop. But kids who heard it would demand to hear it again.
“Let’s dig in” !
Wow, I remember when this came out. I gotta hand it to anyone who can write about cannibalism with a catchy beat.🍻
My family always wanted me to work the mine. 😭
Don't do it Tim!!!

lol, they were just talking about this song on the radio , glad you played / reacted to this because i wanted to see what this song was about
I was eight years old the first time I heard this on the radio, and I got the point, and loved it.
This is great. Best accent on the nets. Smart as a whip also. I was in Jr. High school in Ohio when this came out. I did not know what it was about until a few years later.
First time watching you. I'm a 63 year old man, and I was bopping exactly in step with you! Great reaction Doll!
I played in the band and Timothy was a donkey just too let you know
Amazing! Did you guys take the controversy with humor, or was it annoying?
I have this single.
Wow!
Thank you for paying attention! Yep, it's gross but i have loved this song since I heard it in 1970!!
Mpwa, I hope I would not eat someone. But I guess if I had to, I hope I can wash them down with Pina Coladas. As mentioned, this song was written to be so shocking as to get banned on purpose. When I learned of this as a kid, and saw the result, a hit record? I decided to create shock statements of my own that I could use to get attention. My favorite of all time, when I am caught in a boring conversation, when it is my turn to speak, I say, "I like to hide in the branches of a tree and when a cow wanders by I jump out and bite it on the neck!" 🤣😂🤣😂
Lol Timothy the Octopus was eaten in a recent episode of The Boys. Reference to this maybe?
Try Pray for Plague from Bring me the Horizon...pls
“Let’s dig in” !
