Jermaine stayed with Motown. Youngest brother Randy took his place, Check out oldest sister Rebbies Centipede produced by Micheal as well as his Off the Wall album.
yep this is pre "off the wall" which came next for michael... with my favourite don't stop till you get enough...tho rock with you was great too...oh heck the whole off the wall album is great
I want to clarify the Jackson 5 were huge! They was the first group to have their first four songs all reach No. 1, had their own animated series, board games, cereal, this, that, and the other. They took over The Beatles on the charts with their first song and their second single ABC sold 2 million copies in two and a half weeks. They had three number one albums in 1970 alone. They became a bit stagnant in 1972/1973 but that’s why Michael and the brothers decided to leave Motown Records and became The Jacksons in 1975, they had to change their name cause Motown Records owned the name Jackson 5 so they were now know as The Jacksons and move to CBS Records/Epic Records while Jermaine Jackson stayed behind cause he married Berry Gordy’s daughter, so Randy Jackson was added to the group even tho he was performing alongside the Jackson 5 since 1971. Michael’s solo career has eclipsed just how huge the Jackson 5/The Jacksons was. After all they didn’t call it “Jacksonmania” for nothing. They truly are the Greatest Boy Band Of All Time! As a group they have sold over 150 million records worldwide before Michael even went solo so they were an anomaly themselves.👑🌟💯(Blame It on the Boogie" ~ Is about competing with the boogie for the attention of a girl, and eventually giving into the boogie. The Jacksons released “Blame It On the Boogie” on August 23, 1978. It serves as the lead single from the “Destiny” LP. The song is a cover of the original by English singer-songwriter Mick Jackson, ironically a Jackson (not related to the Jackson family) who co-wrote the song with his brother David Jackson and Elmar Krohn, the song was written in hopes of being sold to Stevie Wonder. “Blame It On the Boogie" received a music video, directed by Peter Conn. It is very simple and features the group's members dancing on a black background. The Jacksons performed the song exclusively during the Destiny World Tour in 1979. Although it did middling numbers in the US, “Blame It on the Boogie” was a worldwide hit, and remains The Jacksons most celebrated song to this day.)
I grew up listening to and watching them since I am the same age as Michael. I still have my Jackson Five albums. I remember when Michael was on The Dating Game and I was so jealous!
The Kick looks at first so out of place in a dance yet he invented these things!! So unique.the Whooo the spins... the nucleus of an insane future icon. That guy is different. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS
Love this song and there is a live version of this in England during Destiny tour that is unbelievable. Great energy and one of my favoirte Jackson Live performance.
Michael was 1 or 2 years older than me, so I followed the Jackson's and his solo career from the beginning. I remember them being featured in "Tiger Beat" teen magazine. This song was in the movie Pitch Perfect. The next song/video to checck out is Dancin' Machine - the first time we saw the robot dance! Love your channel!
Many people think this was written by MJ as that is how it is credited. But it is actually written by Mick Jackson and MJ father heard it while in a studio in Germany. Immediately knew MJ had to record it.
Idk if you guys ever thought about reacting too Michael Jackson controversy but there’s a video called Michael Jackson’s blackness by Jackson passion it’s 19 min. Other reactors have reacted and it really helps clear up MJ’s name and understand his point of view.
This was from the Jacksons second album for Epic. The big hit was Shake Your Body Down To The Ground. Michael's first Epic solo album, Off The Wall, was next. Gotta check out the Jacksons and Mick Jagger collaboration song "State Of Shock" sometime 😊👍.
This era of the Jacksons was the group maturing from their Motown roots. In many ways you see glimpses of where Michael would go when he went to release his solo album "Off The Wall" a few years after this. Also another song from The Jacksons worth checking out is "Can You Feel It" (although note that the official music video is a long play format version of the song compared to the single version). Unsure of which Janet Jackson songs that you've already heard, but she has a sizeable catalog of her own with numerous hit singles. Two of my personal favorites from her are "The Pleasure Principle" and "Miss You Much".
Guys, I would recommend you do The Jacksons and Cher performing Dancing Machine in a medley of Jackson songs live on her show...She even dances along with them and does pretty good. I just know you will get a big kick out of it. Happy holidays!!
Jermaine Jackson was already gone at this point. He remained with Motown because he married into Barry Gordy’s family. Randy took over as the youngest Michael Jackson was no longer the youngest in this group.
Lots of timeless classics from the Jackson 5. Well...if you think about Joe Jackson and how he "handled" the family. That's a different story. But the fantastic music lives on. "ABC" or "I Want You Back" would be good ones as well.
When they changed record labels, Jermaine stayed with Motown and their younger brother Randy replaced him. Randy is in this video, Jermaine isn't. As a kid, Janet appeared in a number of TV shows including Diff''rent Strokes, Good Times, Fame and The Love Boat.
I haven't watched yet as 01.30 and knackered but incase it's not mentioned writing credits on this is to M Jackson but it's not Michael it's a British artist Mick Jackson, as a former DJ I actually had both versions, both were very good but of course the version with the clout behind it was the commercial success. Bedtime g'night 🇬🇧
I see some here are aware that Randy had replaced Jermaine. Reason being that I believe at 18, Jermaine married Hazel Gordy, daughter of Motown head exec, Berry Gordy. When the group left Motown to sign with Epic Columbia, Jermaine chose to not be disloyal to his father-in-law, & didn’t go with his brothers. That may also have been the beginning of Jermaine’s solo work, 1 of which was a song called Let’s Het Serious, written by Stevie Wonder, in which Stevie sang the bridge of the song.! Around that time of ‘78, Michael was chosen to play the Scarecrow in the cinematic version of the Wiz on big screen. Quincy did the music & had cameo appearance in the film. Michael stepped to him to be producer of his 1st grown ass man album project, OffRhe Wall. Rest is history. Check a Spike Lee documentary called:Michael Jackson’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall. Also: HITSVILLE: The Making of Motown
Janet didnt want to be a singer but got into it bec of her dad. He was her manager. She was pretty much told what type of songs to sing and had no say on her first two albums. Sone people actually dismiss her first two albums. She cane into ger own on ger third album called Control. She fired her dad and had more say about what type of songs she wanted to sing. Here are some Janet music videos that you should start with thats her earlier work from the 80s and 90s 1) What have you done for me lately 2) Escapade 3) Nasty 4)Pleasure Orinciple 5)Come back to me 6)Love will never do 7) Rhythm Nation 8)Miss you much 9)Thats the way love goes 10)I miss you much 11)Again 12)I get so lonely 13)Doesnt really matter
If you're interested in the Jackson family look for the movie the Jacksons - an American dream. You'll get a lot of insight and it's also beautyfully made. Talking about Janet, I think her song pleasure principle was a big hit in the 80s and it also has a video.
I would say not hearing about jackson 5 isnt that weird. Though sometimes people who dont know the full history of Michael Jacksons singing career dont fully understand how early his career as a singer started. He was talented but by the time he went solo he had already had a long career as a singer in a pretty successful band.
I need you to react to "How do you sleep", "You used to touch me" and "No one loves no one" by JC Chasez 🥹 the three songs are from his new album called "Playing with fire" that came out in October ❤️
For a fun song, and moment, check out Jermaine Jackson song Planet Of The Ape Men, and Sweetest Sweetest. Worth a listen. Great reaction guys! CHEERS to ya!!! 🍻🤟👏
Phil the reason you pause is because you have thoughts about the song usually half way through the song don't bring copyright issues into your pausing i can name you at least a dozen reaction channels that don't pause.
Their Epic stuff couldn't compare to the Motown..Probably because Gordy and Co. had the Funk Brothers studio team and the greatest songwriters ( Holland/Dozier/Holland and others) to give their sound more punch, soul and funk. Ex: "How Funky Is Your Chicken", " Reach In", " ABC" " Dancing Machine" I Want you back" Etc.
Yeah you can't be a serious music reactioner if you only know certain types of music. I can understand the Jackson 5 but who on Earth doesn't know Michael Jackson really.
Yeah, and he keeps saying MJ went behind his back and purchased the catalog, which is not the case. There's more to the story than that, but still certain people just believe what McCartney says because they think he's so special and like to kiss up to him.
@peachesj4748 MJ's big mistake was letting people run around with their own narrative about his interactions stories, leading to so many untrue stories about him and painting him to be a bad guy in some. He should have called out or corrected some stories.
M Jackson's best album was OFF THE WALL, with his first hit solo songs like ROCK WITH YOU. Late 70s. Before MJ got very weird and wacked out. The best JACKSON 5 tunes would be on their greatest hits.
@for-house-stark Yes he was. He was messed up by his parents and abused. He was counted on as the family meal ticket to billions. He had sechsual identity issues. He had racial identity issues and started lightening his skin, and getting plastic surgery to make his nose tiny and not so "black", and worst of all he started becoming a drug addict and mo-lested young boys. Were you in a long coma in the 80s and 90s?
You can already hear his iconic "hee hee" lol, and even the way he moved and danced was different from his brothers, the King Of Pop in the making.
Jermaine stayed with Motown. Youngest brother Randy took his place, Check out oldest sister Rebbies Centipede produced by Micheal as well as his Off the Wall album.
yep this is pre "off the wall" which came next for michael... with my favourite don't stop till you get enough...tho rock with you was great too...oh heck the whole off the wall album is great
@eggy1962 I still think that " Off The Wall" is Michael Jackson's best album.
Jacksons - Enjoy Yourself 🔥

These two are major airheads. They don't know anything, even with internet access where you can easilylearn about certain people and things.
Just FYI - Jermaine is not in this video and had left the group at this point. The 5th Jackson here is little brother, Randy. Great reaction. 🏆 🎶
They went from the Jackson 5 to the jacksons at this time.
Such a good song! MJ was a fireball, high energy, great voice, and cool vibes.
The Jacksons are so underrated, the 1976 album, Goin' Places, Destiny, and of course Triumph.
I grew up listening to and watching them since I am the same age as Michael. I still have my Jackson Five albums. I remember when Michael was on The Dating Game and I was so jealous!
Smiling the whole time 😁
This is just the tip of the iceberg! You guys have to go down the J5 and Michael Jackson rabbit hole...it is endless!! You won't be Disappointed!😊❤
Classic song🔥
The Kick looks at first so out of place in a dance yet he invented these things!! So unique.the Whooo the spins... the nucleus of an insane future icon. That guy is different. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS
I was fortunate to see them perform live twice as a teen. They were perhaps the most popular family group of the 70s. RIP Michael and Tito.
So sad to hear Tito died. He had an album or 2 out recently, a cracker single was released too. RIP mkj and Tito
i love the Jackson 5s cover of " never can say goodbye" - very sweet - also Gloria Gaynor's version
Jackson 5: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael.
The Jacksons: Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Michael and Randy.
Jermaine stayed with Motown.
Yes before thriller album he had disco era songs all rock with you was a classic song too
Love this song and there is a live version of this in England during Destiny tour that is unbelievable. Great energy and one of my favoirte Jackson Live performance.
Finally lol more Jacksons!
I get goosebumps still ❤❤❤

Shake Your Body should be your next J5 reaction. I think that was their last hit before Michael went solo.
So great to watch Michael before Thriller ruined his life. Such amazing talent. Nothing but love, in total awe. Just wow.
His father ruined all there lives growing up with his physical and mental abuse
What does that mean?
Michael Jackson ❤
Definitely a song that will always make you feel better. There's only a handful of songs that can instantly lift my mood and this is one of them.
Many people think this was written by MJ as that is how it is credited. But it is actually written by Mick Jackson and MJ father heard it while in a studio in Germany. Immediately knew MJ had to record it.

I can't believe ... 😁
Oh How Happy is another fun song from them
Yes he had all the moves. His voice is what propelled. Maybe you saw the video, but the radio was where he rocketed.
Guys, I would recommend you do The Jacksons and Cher performing Dancing Machine in a medley of Jackson songs live on her show...She even dances along with them and does pretty good. I just know you will get a big kick out of it. Happy holidays!!

Upbeat and catchy!
My fav Jackson's song
You should react next to "Shake Your Body on to the Ground" also by the Jacksons. One of the best post Motown tracks by the Jacksons.
When they changed record labels, Jermaine stayed with Motown and their younger brother Randy replaced him. Randy is in this video, Jermaine isn't. As a kid, Janet appeared in a number of TV shows including Diff''rent Strokes, Good Times, Fame and The Love Boat.
More MJ!!
The Jackson’s “Torture” is a great one to teach to, and you get to hear more from the other Jacksons.
Hope you beautiful couple had a great Xmas and happy New Year!!🎉🎉🎉

VMaybe check out Michael and Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger collaboration called State Of Shock. I think you'll live it! 🍻🤟👏
you got this playing on hyper speed . . . .
BLAME IT ON THE BOOGIE WAS AN ENGLISH SONG WRITTEN BY MICK JACKSON, MICHAEL USED IT AND DID A GREAT JOB OF BUMPING IT UP
Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done for Me Lately" is a good place to start. Paula Abdul did the choreography and is in the video too.

You guys should react to the Shangri-Las from the 60s.
You know it from Pitch Perfect
Shoud do Dancing Machine
We need some real funk!
Curtis Mayfield- Superfly (73) 🔥

Talking about Janet, I think her song pleasure principle was a big hit in the 80s and it also has a video.
If you want a change up, check out Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
It came from a different Michael Jackson (though he went by Mick Jackson) in the UK, and they covered it. XD
Reaction Marc Martel and jonathan cilia faro too much love will kill you pliss 🙏🏼🙏🏼🥺

Motown owned the name Jackson 5 so they had to drop the 5. Gamble/Huff wrote and produced this, classic Philly soul.
Oops! Gamle/Huff didn't write it.

You need to react a loytoya Jackson so ngs
I am 70 and a young person said to me , this , You mean Paul McCartney was in a Band before WINGS ? Can you believe it !
Paul is a dope. Didn’t want to purchase his own catalog because it costs too much and he always begrudged MJ cause he had the foresight to buy it.
Yeah, and he keeps saying MJ went behind his back and purchased the catalog, which is not the case. There's more to the story than that, but still certain people just believe what McCartney says because they think he's so special and like to kiss up to him.

@@zyoteesunuwar4825 It is what it is. MJ will forever be tainted with you know what but he is still undeniably one of the greatest of all time.
