  • Here's how to fix your Dyson DC59 V6 if it's not holding charge or showing a blinking red right. I recommend this battery: geni.us/BestDysonV6Battery (Amazon affiliate link)

    #DysonV6 #DysonV6Fix #Tattu
Has the battery life on your Dyson V6 gotten really short? For me… some days it will last a good few minutes and other days, it would only last less than about 15 seconds; even after fully charging overnight.
If your Dyson V6 still charges, but only runs for a tiny bit and then goes dead… it is most likely a bad battery.
If your Dyson V6 doesn't work at all, but shows a blinking red indicator, that also means a bad battery.
The solution to both of these problems is Simple!
You can either buy a brand new Battery from Dyson for $96 dollars plus tax and shipping , or you can buy an upgraded aftermarket battery from Amazon that is just about one-third the price and has a longer run time.
I went with the aftermarket battery and have been happy with my decision.
The cheapest aftermarket batteries have similar capacities to the original Dyson batteries, around 2100 milliamp hour. The most expensive aftermarket batteries have twice the capacity of the original Dyson battery, but is also heavier. The one I went is the Tattu 3000 Milliamp hour battery because it is the sweet spot: it has a higher capacity than the original Dyson battery, and it is actually lighter than the original Dyson battery! Because the Dyson V6 is top heavy, a heavier battery will make it more difficult on your wrist to operate… so a lighter battery is a nice perk.
I also like that this Tattu Battery has an intelligent Indicator: Steady blue means charging, light off means it is done charging, a flashing blue means low battery, and flashing red means there is something wrong with the battery. I hope you never see that red light!
This Tattu aftermarket battery also fits nicely into the original Dyson charging dock.
It is super simple to replace the battery; it's just two easily accessible screws!
Step 1, Make sure your vacuum is not plugged in.
    Step 2, remove any attachment.
Step 3, remove the dust bin by pushing the red lever once to open the dust bin lid, and push the lever again to release the dust bin. You may need to slightly twist the dust bin to take it out.
Step 4, find a place to lay the vacuum down, and remove the two screws. There is one on the back of the handle, and one underneath the battery.
Step 5, simply pull the battery out and properly recycle it with your local facilities. These batteries have nasty chemicals that will otherwise harm the environment.
Step 6, slide in the new battery and ensure that it clicks into place.
Step 7, put the screws back in. You can use the new screws, or reuse the old ones, that's totally up to you.
Step 8, refit the dust bin, and close the dust bin lid
Step 9, pull the trigger and test the vacuum, it might have some charge! If not, fully charge it over night and test it the next day.

Thanks for your helpful videos. I have been back time and time again, for fixes on the same Dyson DC59 Motorhead. It is a wonderful vacuum when it's working, but the problem is that it needs to be fixed more than any other vacuum I've ever had. Luckily, you become pretty resourceful with a vacuum like this... which is why your channel is so helpful!
To the point! I bought the Tattu battery you recommended and it worked wonderfully for about 6-8 months... now I'm back to having signs of a bad battery. Did anyone else have issues with the Tattu battery dying in less than a year? Thanks!

The issue with many cheap batteries is you don't know the quality of the 18650 cells inside. 18650 is a cell standard like AA, AAA, C, PP3 etc...
Samsung and LG make some of the best ones, but the market is flooded with fakes.
In general the fakes won't last as long because they don't have over discharge protection. It makes it appear to be higher capacity because it runs longer, but at the cost of reducing the number of charges before failure.
The lithium ion cell chemistry is best between 80% and 20% capacity. Same with your phone battery.
To try and give a numerical value to the charge issue with lithium you get between 100 and 1000 cycles for a lithium cell. A full cycle from 0% to 100% does the most wear. Many cells have built in circuitry to prevent the charge going below 10% (hidden charge). Tesla only charge their cars to 90% unless you enable trip mode to get the extra 10% on rare occasions that you need it.
      If you charge from 20% to 80% that's 0.1 of a wear cycle. 80% to 100% is 0.5 of a wear cycle.
20% and lower is similar to 80-100% but depends on the cell chemistry as to how bad.
So if you want to maximise the life of the product. Don't fully charge or discharge..... For Lithium ion batteries.
Older Ni-Cad batteries had battery memory. Old Ni-MH batteries also had battery memory effect. But new Ni-MH batteries and Li-ion batteries don't suffer from this.

A battery with only one cells row can absolutely not give 4000 or 6000mAh. It's simply impossible, specially with 30A cells ...except on the label , for pure commercial reasons. That's a nonsense and a robbery for a lot of guys who don't know anything about it and are only seduced by a wrong presentation. You are a very good seller ...for bad batteries which can run if you never use the max power.

I ran into an issue while replacing my batter. When I removed the old battery a small plastic piece fell out. I later realize this was the thing that holds the top screw in place. I'm not sure if I can glue that piece back into place, since it's rather hard to reach. Although I could give it a try. I was wondering if I could take some electrical tape and tap the battery into place? This piece might of broken lose before I tried opening it, as that screw gave me a lot of trouble and I don't think it could stay in place with just one screw.

I do have a question. I have a Dyson v7 animal+ and it pulses so much. I can't do more than 20 seconds before it does it. But the lights don't change much... I have checked every spot the website says for hair/fur clogs. But it still does it.
Question is: knowing this, how do I tell if it needs a new battery? I really can't afford to just buy one if I don't need to right now. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for sharing this video. Any idea if this battery will work for the V6 slim model too?

Hi Agnes! Yep, this replacement battery will work fine on the V6 Slim; they are the same vacuums (the V6 Slim vs V6). Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! :)

You are giving some mis-information on the replacement dyson batterys. Flashing red light on replacement batterys can be typical with a hot or warm battery (not a bad battery as you state). If, after use and the battery is warm or hot (which is typical for replacement batterys) you will get a flashing red light. Nothing wrong, just need to let the battery cool down and it will stop flashing red and charge normally after cool-down. Note, the original dyson batterys usually do not get hot and can usually charge right after use.

what does a flashing green light mean on dyson v6 replacement battery does >2100mAh help?

    • @UTECHPIA
      @UTECHPIA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

A fast flashing green/blue light indicates no power or a temporary fault (e.g. check filter or for blockages).
A battery that is >2100mAh rating means it will have a hold more charge, but be careful because most brands don't really advertise their "true mAh" specs.

@utechpia Thank you for a quick response! I tried removing it for over an hour and a half last night and no luck. I asked my husband and he tried to remove it as well still no luck! I didnt know what to do! So I left the tools and the vaccum in the living room. The next day my 9 yr old daughter woke up and saw the vaccum. I saw her playing with it and I was like oh well let her play with it. Then less than 10 mins omg she fixed it! She was able to remove the screw. She sure saved me about $300 to $400. I was ready to upgrade to a dyson v8.

Thanks for video- I’m going to order battery. One question. When fully charged- should I take vacuum off dock or does it automatically shut off.
I’ve had my vacuum for a little under five years and I’ve already replaced battery once before.

    • @UTECHPIA
      @UTECHPIA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Chyna Doll! It should automatically stop charging when it's full. I leave my docked all the time. Batteries do low charge and degrade overtime, it's just natural. 5 years life on a battery is really good, In my opinion.
