Absolutely the chorus is so bloody awesome and the bit before it is killer and come to think about it the other bits after between........ Wait a minute IT'S THE WHOLE BLOODY SONG IT'S BLOODY AWESOME cause everybodys happy nowadays
Everybody's Happy Nowadays is just superb . That bit when Pete sings "Okay Okay" is the highlight for me ....and not forgetting his camp as Christmas delivery .

I am impressed. This is what a reaction channel should be. Listen to a song and then react to it. Reaction channels that feel the need to stop the video/song every 20 seconds to "react" really annoy me. Keep up the good work.
I was given a large dictionary in the 70s. It had derivations of words which I found fascinating. The compiler had a a great turn of phrase, though. Under the appendix entry for the new ‘punk rock’ the description was popular music played with great verve but lacking polish. That editor had obviously listened to punk.
My favorite Buzzcocks song. Little known fact. Howard Devoto, of Magazine, was Buzzcocks original vocalist and Pete Shelley use to be the lead guitarist and Diggle was originally the rhythm guitarist if I'm remembering the last part correctly.
Absolute punk classic. The energy is electric. The drumming is fantastic. The backing vocals add a nice bit of colour too. Their biggest hit by far. Love your Christmas set, Justin! 🎉
Big hit in the UK. Still popular now. Please put their first single on your list with Howard Devoto on vocals. It's a 4 track EP called Spiral Scratch, the main track is Boredom, but the rest are great too.
Great proponents of the genre, icons of the UK's punk scene, the soundtrack to the mid 70s youth. The fine young cannibals did a cover in 1986 for the film Something wild. A cover by Pete Yorn appeared on the Shrek 2 soundtrack in 2004 among others.
One of my favourite tracks of all time. It's also worth checking out the Fine Young Cannibals cover of it which is great, but a completely different vibe.
Agree. Do try The Undertones if you don't already know them. Start with the obvious...Teenage Kicks. But so many great so gs to choose from. Merry Christmas!
Yup. You can't go wrong with Buzzcocks. This track remains popular over 40 years later but do check out some of the deeper cuts such as Moving Away from the Pulsebeat and anything from Love Bites.
I'd first heard this song in the version by the Fine Young Cannibals and then believed for many years it was their original! 😅 Maybe also react to _their_ version for comparison, Justin! 😀👍
Musical genres seemed to change so fast in the 70s. So much creativity and energy. One of these days I hope you’ll get to Tubeway Army (Gary Numan) - Are Friends Electric? which was released in 1979 and in many ways launched the synth pop era of the early 80s. I still think it sounds fresh today, 40+ years later.
@@ijustneedmyself Ah good question. Well it's pretty eclectic because I have a pretty broad music collection, so I have things like 'Dancing Queen', 'Penny Lane' and then 'Time for Heroes' and 'Coffee and TV'. All Perfect Pop songs in my opinion, but from opposite ends of the Musical spectrum.
This band has sooooo many hits. If you are venturing into anthemic punk with pop sensibilities Buzzcocks would be a monument... If you like madcap energy up to 11 give The Rezillos a spin
Great song - although I think it's one that's best not played too often (might not last if you do). You did a reaction quite a long time ago to *Day is Gone* by the band I always seem to mention, and I can't remember if I let you know when Belgium's *mr Brown* did his cover of the same (with classical guitar - and played with quite a lot of "shred"). Just for you to compare/ have a listen to hear what he must've heard, hearing it, that kind of thing. th-cam.com/video/7-N9SKoRjss/w-d-xo.html (so there's the link, until the next time I forget whether I've forgotten to let you know about it.)
There are lyrics for *Shell with a Spell* now. I don't know what they mean, but I think I like them. Don't tell them, otherwise they'll send me back there. th-cam.com/video/Ur23CcoVjhM/w-d-xo.html
Great song, I played it to death when I was a kid. Is it Punk? I never considered it as punk. Buzzcocks are a great band full stop. There are many more good tracks to listen to.

I told him about two hours. He said bummer missed the gig ah? . No i replyed about an hour more to go. Bullshit!!! About 45 minutes later last song and he said how does that drummer do that for close to 3 hour's ? His name is BOOT AND HE'S HUGE THAT'S HOW . When i was a young grommet punk mid eighties i got taken from a party by a much older boot girl and she did things to me that i had yet to experience with THE BUZZCOCKS singles going steady album playing in the background 👍👏👏👏👏
If the notion of pop punk requires a definitive song, then this is it for me. It's perfect.
I agree. This is a perfect power pop song, which makes it one of the best songs of all time.
Absolutely adore The Buzzcocks. Razor sharp lyrics and an infectious melody, every time. RIP, Pete - you legend!
Absolute classic song by a fantastic band “Everybody’s Happy Nowadays” is one of my favourites

Their biggest hit and probably their best known song. Fine Young Cannibals had a hit with a cover of it in the 80's.
This is the far superior version mind you
I am impressed. This is what a reaction channel should be. Listen to a song and then react to it. Reaction channels that feel the need to stop the video/song every 20 seconds to "react" really annoy me. Keep up the good work.
Buzzcocks were one of my favourite punk bands. Great melodies and witty lyrics. Singles going steady are a perfect collection of songs.
I always appreciate your appreciation for quality drumming. You sometimes point out things I never thought about before.
I appreciate your appreciation Rydell, thank you :)

I bought this on a 7” single/45 too when it came out and played it endlessly, love this track and still got the vinyl somewhere under the stairs
Keep going with these guys great songs coming up! Love you
Everybody’s happy nowadays next please
Another good one Justin. I share a birthday with the late, great Pete Shelley. See if you have time to check out his solo album XL1.
Big hit in the UK. Still popular now. Please put their first single on your list with Howard Devoto on vocals. It's a 4 track EP called Spiral Scratch, the main track is Boredom, but the rest are great too.
my fave Buzzcocks tune
Perfect punk pop, expressing a universal sentiment
There a lot of great songs and and solo songs great live band
See them live
What a pounder. Drummer is killing it

There's a real nice cover of this song by British singer-songwriter Thea Gilmore. Worth checking out.
The answer to the question in this song? Oh yes. Several times.
Great song; had it on a 45 single.
A pop masterpiece ...simple as that .
Melodic punk perfection. Have you tried out The Undertones yet? Their first couple of albums have a similar vibe.
Agree. Do try The Undertones if you don't already know them. Start with the obvious...Teenage Kicks. But so many great so gs to choose from. Merry Christmas!
This is the single that put Buzzcocks into the top division (first single I brought of theirs too).
Please be the first to do a whole-album-reaction to the Buzzcocks' Another Music In A Different Kitchen. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Just perfect.
Brilliant track. Been covered by many people in many different genres.
Their biggest hit. Reminds me of being around 11 or 12 and the youth club disco i used to go to on Tuesdays back in 78/79 in Manchester
When I lived in Manchester, youth clubs were a thing of the future.

The best Punk album ever made was "Another Music in a Different Kitchen" by The Buzzcocks. It's flawless and timeless.
IMO one of the best punk songs ever written. Merry Christmas JP!
Merry Xmas James! :D
Sort of their 'hit'. Happy you enjoy this! Happy Holiday Season!!
Widely (and correctly) regarded as the best song ever written.

Thanks Simon. I've actually covered the whole album Replicas just a few weeks ago on the channel :D
How did I miss that? lol Got my notifications set and everything! Cheers
Everybody loves the Buzzcocks
❤
The lyrics are a precis of many tamla songs and the music proper R&R.
Great band and amazing live.
I created an iTunes playlist called Perfect Pop. This was the second thing I added (after 'Teenage Kicks'). Enough said.
2 excellent songs. What's on the rest of the list? 🧐

Gotta say again John Maher of Buzzcocks and Pete Thomas w/Elvis Costello are the two best punk/post punk drummers
John Doyle of Magazine worth a mention too.
The drummer was 17 when he did this recording.
One of the all time greatest pop-punk songs to surface from the UK. I've always loved the effete vocal inflection of Pete Shelley's vocals.
Try 'Milk and alcohol' or 'Roxette'(or both) by Dr Feelgood.
