    This is a nice PC. The camera even though it is a 720 was surprisingly quite good. The microphone sounded good and clear. Not crazy about the soldered in memory but if you choose the 16 gig you should be okay with most tasks. Display is very good. Keyboard layout is excellent as usual for HP. Like the easy access to the insides of this series of PC's. Wish they would do the same with the Spectre line. HP seems to give one a good variety of options to choose from for purchasing. Great review.

    Great Review Andrew👍...but now I am confused on which value for money light laptop I should go for...was narrowing it down to Asus Zenbook 14 UX425EA. What to do you advise, is HP envy 14 2021 a better proposition?
    Requirements in terms of spec would be non-touch matte screen, i7 tigerlake, 16 or 32 GB RAM, 1 TB or more HD, graphics RAM - will go with independent rather than integrated but all depends on the complete package available on offer.

    @Andrew - Any idea if the 16GB of RAM is in single-channel mode? I've heard of a couple of smaller laptops recently hitting the market with single-channel memory (sounds like maybe due to packaging/layout issues when adding a dedicated GPU into these 13" and 14" form-factors).

    Hello Andrew saw few of your videos as I’m looking for a new laptop. I’m looking for a laptop suitable for a student who casually games.
    I’m looking for a touchscreen laptop with 16gb ram 512ssd, i7/ryzen 7 with a solid build and battery with a decent graphics card (something like mx450 or 1650i).
    I’m not on a very high budget so would you recommend envy 14” (i7 with 1650i) or something else?

    I currently own the touchscreen 16gb/512ssd version and the only real issue i have with it is maybe the rigid top lid and hinges, and the overall built quality (feels like it might break in any given accident). I saw in other review that it is a little hard to open but didnt think it would be such a struggle. Really hoping it grows on me, otherwise its a great machine that i see lasting me for a good while. does anyone else have the same complaint(s)?

    I love the dual charging options, dedicated for speed and dedicated gpu work.
    Without wasting your usbc port.
    usbc port for convenience.
    2 is better than one.
    apple will also do this soon.
    I never understood why so many want only usbc charging, as it steals a port and is slower, although it uses a common port.
    i love it too but, I also love having options for not losing a precious port, and for faster charging, and more power for a dedicated gpu.
    Also A+ for the wide variety ports no dongle needed. (apple dell I'm looking at you)
    A+ for upgradeable ssd, as they are fast and cheap, and easy to replace down the road.
    No need to pay $800 to go to 2TB anymore.(apple looking at you)
    F for soldered ram and no 32gb option, there is no excuse for that, as there is room. (everyone I am looking at you, who will be first to allow diy ram upgrades)?

    • @aliyev303
      @aliyev303 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally agree with u except in ram subject. I think that if u r a normal daily user 16GB ram is enough. Really man who needs the 32gigs ram? If u need 32gb ram then u also need some big specs. I mean like rtx gpu and H version cpu and maybe i9 cpu. But in this specs 16 ram is completely enough.

    • @Tigerex966
      @Tigerex966 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@aliyev303 I can see that.
      I have a 2011 macbook pro, tons of ports, upgradeable ssd/hdd, upgradeable ram, dvd that can be changed out for a bluray player or second ssd.
      It had 4gb standard, which was all you needed at the time, I upgraded to the max 8gb for headroom, and the minimum for today, later I found out you could go to 16gb.
      That helps with music video creation apps multitasking and chrome.:)
      I can also use thunderbolt for an egpu.
      My point is my laptop lasted 10 years ,because it has upgradeable ram/ssd.
      i suspect those with soldered 4gb or 8g for sure, and maybe even 16gbb today, and 256gb soldered ssds on their ultrabooks or MacBooks, will fill the need for more in 4-5 years times.
      for most 8gb/512gb should be fine, light creative big multitasks 16/1tb or so.
      heavy users pros serious creatives etc, the option of 32-64gb, 1-8tb internal ssds would be great.
      but yea most will be fine 8gb 256gb, but when its soldered, it cannot be repaired, you need a whole new motherboard, and you sad data can be recovered by hackers when you get rid of it, and thats bad for the environment, and not needed.
