@@dannyburns4392 I’m so tired of hearing this shit. We can stop caring the minute our competence and intelligence as non whites is not associated with our skin tones, when our missing persons cases are taken seriously, and when subtle racism is not ingrained in the consciousness of nations. One thing I will never understand is how tiny phone cameras can get such high quality images but CCTV for years has been too poor quality to identify countless criminals
It's because CCTV is constantly recording 24/7, while your phone is not. It takes up too much space to record in HD 24/7, so they video quality is lowered as a compromise. Maybe someday in the future this issue could be fixed, but for now we aren't there yet.
@@HotEatTheFood exactly what came to my mind too. That was an Australian case right? If they can get high quality CCTV running 24/7 then so can USA and UK
As someone who met my “soulmate” at 13, I really feel for his girlfriend. My fiancé and I have been together since I was 13 and he was 14, going on 10 years now ❤️ A lot of people told us we were crazy and that it was puppy love and we would never last, but here we are 10 years later and getting married next month ❤️ I couldn’t imagine what it would have done to me to lose him so young. I already have ptsd and anxiety and worry about losing him now, so I can just imagine her heartache and pain. My heart goes out to her 💔
My daughter and her bf have been together since she was 13 and he was 14, and now they're 16 and 17, and still together and going strong, my husband always said they'll never make it, he doesn't feel that way so much now lol. Your story is so sweet. Congrats to you and your man! I wanna show my daughter this 😊🥰❤
You gotta check out the case of Ryan Waller; he was shot 4 times in the face, and interrogated by police for hours before they noticed the bullet wounds and realized his rambling and inability to put a story together was because he was shot. His girffriend was killed too. This guy was taken in extremely beaten up, received no medical attention. Id love to hear your take

Whenever I hear about a murder relating to gangs, it really brakes my heart. Especially when the victim is not involved with any gang activity. May he rest in peace.
Did you see that young teen boy who was walking home and then was chased down and killed by a gang. He tried running into the minimart and they dragged him back out. It was all caught on camera. It was a case of mistaken identity (which is said to be total bs). Even other members of the gang are trying to kill the gang members involved because they sadistically murdered a child (he was like 15). They have to keep them separated from the rest of their own gang.

Knife crime is such a problem and it’s easy to see why when there’s such lenient sentencing. He really should’ve got more than 14 years and the other boys should’ve been charged too.
Those freaks that killed Champion deserved the death penalty plus 25 years for attempted murder. All of them. Every damn one of them. How in Gods name can you murder one child and try really hard to murder the other and you get a stinkin 14 years??? There's your answer!!! Disgusting!
Thanks for covering this, Eleanor. This is a similar case to something that happened to a friend of mine in Oxford called Aaron Buron, he was stabbed to death by an 18 year old piece of crap who was beating up a 16 year old girl. Aaron was a rapper who would write strong anti knife lyrics, he was a beautiful soul and I had known him since I was 17 and he was 14, he was a legitimately good man. If you could make a video of him, then I would be blown away

Here's my theory: may be the 3 guys stabbed champion intentionally more to send a message to shaquille a message that if he attack the other gabgs, people around him will get hurt. That's why he got less serious wounds.
Instead of talking about what Shaquille should have done, and judging his actions, maybe we should be judging the complete lack of support police give victims of gang violence. If Shaquille had crucial information for a murder case, where was the offer of sustained witness protection for him and his family to keep them safe? What moves were made to ensure his safety? Where was the offer of safe gang extraction? It wasn’t offered because Shaquille’s life wasn’t deemed worth the time and financial expense. The lack of support for these black children shows us not their cowardice, but that their lives are considered worthless.
Absolutely this. Amazed by all the comments that can’t understand why a black teenager might not trust the police to protect him and his family if he came forward with the information. Not saying Shaquille is an Angel by any means, but there has to be some level of understanding.
I'm absolutely LOVING the glowy natural looks you've been serving the last few videos! I of course love your glam looks but I love this version of you too. I appreciate the awareness you spread through your videos and I'm so excited when you upload! We love you Eleanor ❤️
While I can understand Shaqueel‘s fear of his life, if my life choices ended up being the reason of one of my friends deaths I would give up any information possible to help bring them justice without even thinking of the consequences it could have on my own life because I would feel totally responsible for their death, I couldn’t live with myself knowing I was responsible
But its not just your life you are risking but your families too. Thats how they get people to stay silent. Would you risk your families life? Your siblings? Your parents? Neices? Nephews? For justice? They won't just go after you for snitching but your family, you'll be made into an example of what happens to snitchers.
The best friend is a rapper called Villz is in the BCM gang champion was in the gang too they've had beef with southside newham since like 2007 after someone got killed. They were both in the gang so he couldn't snitch and most gang members want retalliation instead of sending opps to prison
It’s unbelievably bad , I know many people who have lost or almost lost their lives to a knife , and on top of that I know even more people who carry with them all the time just incase , it’s atrocious
It’s so bad the mayor of London banned any knife over 3 inches long. It’s so bad a terrorist attacked the London Bridge and innocent people had no way of defending themselves- so one ran in a museum and grabbed a narwhal tusk from the wall and held it against the terrorist and another grabbed a fire extinguisher and subdued the terrorist until law enforcement got there.

I always admire single parents. Raising child or children is a monumental task all on its own. Doing it solo just makes things even more difficult. You have to work more since its just one source of income, you have to take rolebif two, and at the same time try and be there for the kid. In case of more than one its aso the case of dividing time between them. Its a lot, and sometimes you can't rely on the other parent for child support.
“no grass culture” is prevalent all across England, i’m not defending Shaquille at all but sometimes you have to see both sides of the coin where being in a gang and snitching for ANY reason can get you killed. i’ve seen it first hand. Champion sadly got caught wrong place wrong time and had (presumably) no idea Shaquille stabbing someone even happened. Shaquille was wrong for being in a gang but we don’t know why he got into gang culture, it’s huge in London and the rap scene. People get wrapped up in the wrong circles, and that people have to be careful of who they hang around and this is a prime example of what can happen.
people in gang scenes become notorious very quickly and i can certainly guarantee that those 2 events didn’t help shaquille’s reputation. he was probably terrified of saying the wrong thing and having people on his back.
@@Ty-gc6tk i can understand that but his bestfriend literally DIED. and besides that, the police could have kept him in their protection if he told them the truth. sorry, but if my bestfriend died for ME and i’m scared 2 say anything because of my own safety, i’d consider myself a bad friend and a bad person.

If you're looking for more knife-related cases, while it might not be from the UK, the Echirolle (France) case of Kevin Noubissi and Sofiane Tadbirt means a lot to the region. Honestly, I think it stays in my mind a lot because of the Calogero song "Un Jour Au Mauvais Endroit" which was inspired by the case.
Or maybe not. Basically everyone in the true crime community has done a video on it, with updates. So it would be better to give that time to a lesser known case.
It's really saddening that such a promising boy lost his life in such an unhonorable way - on the cold streets, bleeding to death... I'm angry at how badly the case was handled in court. If knife attacks are so common why are they giving so light sentences?! It's counterintuitive, those gangs would think they are invincible if the system is not properly punishing and scaring them enough. There is no justice but still rest in peace Champion...
Champion seemed like such a sweet kid. As a boy mom of teens, these stories hit hard for me. Thanks for bringing awareness on these topics and keeping the memory of these victims alive. Love you, Eleanor ❤️
Any life loss, especially preventable ones are truly tragic. But it somehow strikes a nerve and brings new levels of sadness when the victims had so much good in them, when just the first few seconds of hearing about them is nothing but good and goals to help others is highlighted. Like I said any loss is absolutely terrible. I deeply hope and pray his family is able to turn this loss into something positive(I know there is nothing positive about someone being taken away from their loved ones. But I hope it's understandable of what I mean) and able to achieve his dreams and goals.

Champion's story is so heart-breaking. His death happened very close to where i live and knife crime is such a massive issue in East London. i think thats why this case in particular has affected me so much, knowing something this horrific happened in my borough. Yet, this is the first time hearing about this case. The fact that the boys were so easily let off by the police too infuriates me so much, Champion deserves justice :( so glad the police were able to catch them though.. so many people who are in these gangs get away with too much. Its so sad honestly to know how dangerous the streets are
I can't believe the guy that ran away for 3 years wasn't charged . At least charge him for battery to murder, running away from police, gang related activities and so on. Like wtf.
@@SureJungle23247 of course you can. But if most gang issues are about rival areas, it follows that most gangs are named after the area. Maybe sometimes don’t comment on things you know nothing about trying to be funny…

It’s not often that I’m moved to tears by these stories, but hearing about the charity and the orphanage, I can’t hold them back. What a truly heartbreaking case- I can’t begin to imagine what his family/friends/girlfriend are going through, and what an absolute insult of a sentence. As a Spurs fan I would have loved to have seen him go on to have the opportunity to play for West Ham or Arsenal, and as a musician I’m glad to see his brother is carrying on with the music. I’ll go and donate to the charity in his memory.
i believe that children who are in gangs have been groomed into it. not to excuse anything but being vulnerable like that is what could make someone a target.
this is one of your best videos yet, so sincere and thoughtful, u can tell when eleanor is passionate about a case and i love when she does ones like these. as a queer poc i always feel so seen by her
The mentality of Champions bestfriend is common because you’ll be labelled a snitch and the saying goes along with the fact they have a high risk of dying handing over information
Not just that, he might have been putting his entire family at risk because at least one of the boys belonged to a gang and it was evident they had no issue killing. It could have possibly been killing him inside, but I can understand why he didn't want to identify anyone.
14 years seems like a way too light sentence for such a terrible and reckless act ☹️ Perhaps harsher sentencing would be a better deterrent for those considering carrying weapons on them!!
I mean, I’m no professional police officer or lawyer, but what I do have is a psychology degree… and stabbing someone eleven times surely is considered an overkill. So how this boy got sentenced with manslaughter is a giant mystery to me. Even at the sweet age of 16 back then, making him 24 now, this young man showed clear signs of sociopathic/narcissistic behaviour. How else would you explain the fact that he was able to make jokes and threatening judges and/or the jury in his own murder trail. 14 years wouldn’t do it. Someone like that is a repeater. What they should of done is try him as an adult, life behind bars without the possibility of parole. Don’t wanna sound superior or privileged, but the way yo grew up, the circumstances you were raised in do NOT define and justify your actions later in life. So yeah. Poor multi talented champion lost his life to some violence driven teen who was completely failed by everybody. Sad to think even think about it
I only wanna say this you DON'T have to be a repeater to do/say that or an adult my friend would do it or wtv to piss ppl off or wtv, and we in hs rn tho I'm older than him by a year or a few months. Hard to explain. Also his mother is a lawyer and he doesn't get in trouble hes also spoiled...
@@Shadow-nz7xz thats true, you dont have to be a repeater. But when its a case like this, with a young man who's capable of behaving as sociopathic as he did.. especially threatening the jury and the judge.. I mean, who in their right mind does that? That just shows that he's either being dumb AF, thinking he's oh so cool coz he killed a man with a knife, lived up to the gang code. Or it shows that he really isnt capable of feeling any remorse, empathy or sympathy. And theres nothing more dangerous than a human being who's not able to produce these kinds of emotions that keep us "normal" people from doing things we shouldnt be doing. So yeah, in your case.. you're right. You dont have to be a repearter, because youre capable of logical thinking and of knowing right from wrong. But this young man isnt... so the chances of him turning into a repeater once out of prison are high.
@@EsaRino-g7z eh not really I don't feel remorse for some things depending if I can connect. The other two eh it's half and half but I still am normal 🤷. I get what you're trying to say tho
11 stab wounds isn’t classed as overkill. Overkill is over 40 stabs wounds. In a multiple offender gang attack, even more. 11 can be done with the sole intent to effectively kill. (Try it at home in the air, do a stabbing motion 11 times. It won’t take you over 5 seconds, you barely feel tired)
Thank you for covering this. Not a lot of people cover black crimes, especially black on black crimes. Many people think that black boys are just thugs but Champion and his brother proves that that's not true at all. Many black boys prove it every single day. It makes me extremely angry that the murderers weren't taken seriously. I feel like the justice system in the UK needs a rework just as badly as the US one does. On a happier note, you are such a natural beauty! It was nice to see your freckles today!
this case was extremely heartbreaking for me to watch just bcuz champion had SO MANY life opportunities for himself practically lined up at his feet, i'm sure he was a wonderful boy :(
@Fordo_77 death sentence is a bit extreme considering in the majority of the states in the US you're not allowed to sentence minors to death. Considering the dude was 16 I believe when this all happened. He probably would have gone to juvie and then once he became of age would have been sent to prison with no parole for maybe life.
I know the frustration with the man slaughter situation. My best friend was stabbed 28 times in the neck and her killer got manslaughter I was soo angry and truthfully still am! She was also 32 weeks pregnant but he wasnt hel accountable for that either.
I know exactly what his mother was going through in that moment. My 30 yr old son was murdered 7/28/19. What goes through out minds instantly & simultaneously is pain, denial & all those stories of people who have woken up out of comas & even the rare situations where they squeeze your hand & wake up even after they have been pronounced brain dead. There's a famous case of a father who was being urged to pull the plug on his son so he went to his truck & got a gun. When he came back in he chased all the medical staff from the room with the gun & desperately held tightly to his boys hand. But a miracle happened & his son squeezed his hand, not twitched, squeezed it. So the father started yelling for staff to come quick his boy was alive! He's awake! Look at him! The security came rushing in & tackled the dad but all the while he's given up & yelling urgently for them to look at his son. Whe. They did his son was looking back at them & moving his head like he was trying to talk but the tubes were stopping him. It's true stories like these that we parents cling to desperately when faced with the death of our child.

One thing I will never understand is how tiny phone cameras can get such high quality images but CCTV for years has been too poor quality to identify countless criminals
If you want a case where the cctv basically solved the case, look up Grace Millane.
It's because CCTV is constantly recording 24/7, while your phone is not. It takes up too much space to record in HD 24/7, so they video quality is lowered as a compromise. Maybe someday in the future this issue could be fixed, but for now we aren't there yet.

It’s so bad the mayor of London banned any knife over 3 inches long. well, champion’s “bestfriend” is actually a bad friend. that’s what he is.

When more is released you should really cover the Trysten Bailey case. It is a pretty big currently ongoing case in the US
Or maybe not.

Wow, I'm from Newham so when you first introduced this case I was like how did I not know about this? Then you continued to say how it happened outside Sandringham primary school- MY primary school! Wow... may Champion rest in peace, he seemed like such an amazing guy.
my condolences go out tho Champion’s family who lost a beautiful soul, may he Rest in Peace❤️🕊
Thank you for bringing up knife crime. As a Londoner, it is a much bigger problem than people make it out to be.
PS. I'm LIVING for your natural look.
I'm from Newham and have lost friends from the age of 14 to knife crime. My own boyfriend was stabbed on our doorstep a few years ago for asking someone to keep the noise down. I'm so glad you've touched on this, its horrific and has been an issue for a long time
The love between his girlfriend and him is reminding me of blue story it’s so sad
Its so sad honestly to know how dangerous the streets are
I’m only a few minutes in and I’m already balling 😭 when the mother said if he could hear her, he’d wake up bc he wouldn’t want her to be sad 😭😭😭
I can't believe the guy that ran away for 3 years wasn't charged . At least charge him for battery to murder, running away from police, gang related activities and so on. Like wtf.
"custom house" has to be the most hoity toyti name for a gang ever, sounds like a gang prince charles would be in.
Lol it's the name of the area
@@amorgxn and... It still sounds like a prostitute parlour, you can name your gang different from the area you come from.
@@SureJungle23247 of course you can. But if most gang issues are about rival areas, it follows that most gangs are named after the area.
Maybe sometimes don’t comment on things you know nothing about trying to be funny…
@@amorgxn whoop whoop, it's the sound of the gang naming and being funny police.
lmaoooo!! I was thinking, what kind of gang name is that. It sounds like a company that makes furnisher.
This was such an emotional case.. I'm so glad his little brother was able to find strength and success in a situation that could cause severe trauma and sometimes ruin lives. So much love to this family.
Also you look so lovely today! Thank you for another really well done video, and thank you for using your platform to bring light to a situation that is really not discussed enough. Stay safe and stay hydrated!
I’m only 10 minutes in but this case is so heartbreaking, he was so young 💔
i believe that children who are in gangs have been groomed into it. not to excuse anything but being vulnerable like that is what could make someone a target.
a mother’s intuition is always right
Relevant cases: shaquillious Townsend, South London, set up scenario, another more recent one is the model Harry Uzoka
Shakilus Townsend case scared me , and scarred me even watching the movie from bbc like 6 years ago scarred me
@@rayali619 yup I grew up with his sister. Big loss that will stay with many forever
I'm literally crying. this is so, so sad. RIP ⭐️
Okay you totally need a podcast if you don’t have one already. Like I would listen to it 24/7!! 💖
this is one of your best videos yet, so sincere and thoughtful, u can tell when eleanor is passionate about a case and i love when she does ones like these. as a queer poc i always feel so seen by her
The mentality of Champions bestfriend is common because you’ll be labelled a snitch and the saying goes along with the fact they have a high risk of dying handing over information
Not just that, he might have been putting his entire family at risk because at least one of the boys belonged to a gang and it was evident they had no issue killing. It could have possibly been killing him inside, but I can understand why he didn't want to identify anyone.
14 years seems like a way too light sentence for such a terrible and reckless act ☹️ Perhaps harsher sentencing would be a better deterrent for those considering carrying weapons on them!!
never commented on a video before but just came here to join everyone in saying Eleanor's look today is EVERYTHING
Thanks Eleanor for how thorough, non bias and analytical you are on your topics. It brings a lot of understanding to the cases you present.
@@harrisonachunche4098 air is nothing compared to stabbing an actual body that the flesh can be thick soooo.
I share a birthday with him.. he would've been 26. Rest in Piece, Champion.
So so heartbreaking 💔 Rest in heaven Champion
It kind of makes me sad that seeing a woman online with no/very little makeup is so unusual but thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this. You are a champion for female confidence and accepting and loving yourself. You are beautiful 💖
THIS is what you’re sad about?? THISSSS??
@@ayethebeatgooff 🙄 mayb shes missing the point!!!
@@lauramiles7289 the point clearly is.... a young man lost his life
@@ayethebeatgooff well whatever it is, you’re not going to change their mind about what makes them sad. You’re secretly hoping everyone else will join in and bully this person in submission to thinking your way. Good luck. Im just pointing out the obvious. Don’t get pissed at me.
@@netsyxx1137 i think maybe you’re kidding get point. She has 28 upvotes vs. virtually none from you. I get what she means. But I’ll admit, her timing sucks. People need to relax a bit and not get so worked up over a stranger’s comment on the damn internet. There’s so much more important things to focus on. If you’re kidding my point then I can’t help you. I can’t help those who won’t help themselves.
Something seriously needs to be done about the knife crime in the country. Well done Eleanor!
People have been killing people for ever !! If its not a gun its a knife , if not a knife its a baseball bat, if its not a baseball bat its something else !!!! It will never stop and 8 will pack my 1911 45 . Thank you
They'll just start using hammers, hatchets, even rope. If people have no morals and want to kill they will. The tool isn't the problem.
I was literally just saying Eleanor hasn’t posted in a bit and then I refreshed my subscriptions and there you were!!! So happy, now my day is complete 😃
please do a video on Azzam Raguragui. He was so young and yet another victim of knife crime that didn't get the justice he deserved. its frustrating and the family is heartbroken.
Started crying after you mentioned the bloodstained pavement.
Can't imagine having to cross that everyday on your way to work.
Or being a kid going to school like?? 😭
How heartbreaking 💔 Look at his sweet face! As a mother myself (one his age at the time) I’m praying his mother and siblings are ok and taking comfort in Gods loving embrace 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
