Good video I'm rebuilding a 2001 R1 and may need to do this some time soon. I will be referencing this video for sure
Thanks!
Thanks you ... From France 🤟
De rien!
You have to wait circa 20 minutes before measure oil level. Because the oil is aerated after venting, the level will drop
Tomasz yes, you are right. I should have mentioned that. It did sit after i filled it before i did final measurements. i just cut it out of the video.
Great job mate, really well explained!
Much appreciated!
Hey man great vid. I had a guy install new springs on my forks but the dials for compression and rebound have way to many clicks now and spin with no clicks at the end (all the way closed). Is there an easy way to fix this because he won’t help me? Really appreciate any advice thanks!
I don't know if I missed something, but why not drive the fork seal into the outer then slide it onto the stanchion
I do small forks that way, but it would be really hard to use the seal driver that way, also there is a higher risk of tearing a seal putting it in like that. You probably could though if you were careful.
How I know the seal is properly seated? Should it stay on place without that clip too when the seal is seated? Or can you even put that clip on place if the seal isn't seated properly?
If you can get the clip in its seated fine
@@DeWoodysShop okay thanks👍🏼
Hello plz how much the size of oil seal is that
43×54×11
Or 43×55×11?
Hi. i'm new subscriber, i love your videos,, you have great content.. keep uploading!!!
Thanks!
I forgot to bleed the fork, simply filled it, and put everything back, you think it will bleed itself after a couple of rides?? Help, Thank you in advance.
Yes for sure. Sorry for the slow reply. Might need to recheck the oil height after
Hi do you have a video of just replacing the preload fork cap bolts with forks attached to bike???
No I don't, I'm not sure I would really try that personally. You would need to support the bike to keep the weight off. Loose then caps then slowly lower it until they are exposed. Like in this video.
Oil wat ..?
Did you paint the bottom shocks ?
Yes, it was intended to match the 06 LE
If I'm not competly blind you put the seal on in the wrong direction
The bevels on these go towards the bottom, also you can tell because the deeper recessed side of the seal goes up, or towards the oil. These have springs and seals on both sides.
@@DeWoodysShop , ok, it lookt like wrong way to me
