    Major Honda fan here ,I sold some of the 1st comptech superchargers for NSx's in Arizona, it just doesn't look like this kit was ready for production. I like that Jackson racing is affiliated with Honda, but I do not like the sound of the unreliability.

    Can you run a slip on exhaust?

    • @gravesru
      @gravesru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would run my evo with an AFR gauge to make sure it doesn’t run too lean.

    what did you do to run your exhaust on the Jackson kit they told me you have to run stock exhaust. or it gets to much boost. no warranty

    • @gravesru
      @gravesru  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve run the evo for about 15,000 miles. No problems. They tell you can’t because of emission laws.

    Russel I've been watching your videos for a long time, back before you installed the Turbo on the 1st Talon. I like the Fact that you have been vary upfront with all the issues you have had ,good and bad. I myself have been doing alot of research on Both Turbo Kits Jackson & Kraftworks. Turns out you never addressed the FACT you installed the Turbo mounts upside down which has found to be the cause of the many failures of motor mounts, manifolds, and turbos. I'm not making this up, I've seen the pictures. This is probably why all the videos I have watched no one else has had the same issues. I know you put a lot of miles on your cars' but you haven't come out with a Video explaining how and why some if not the majority of these failures were due to improper installation, causing pressure to the exhaust manifold motor mount and turbo. If you want to be completely honest and transparent Then omit your mistake, people myself included will have more respect for you.

      I think you received some incorrect information. One of the 15 turbo support rod brackets that broke was installed upside down, that is not the cause for all of the problems. I went through numerous brackets, & headers before they released the triple bolt bracket. The first triple bracket they sent out did get installed upside down, and it was quickly fixed, then I had many more failures after that and I then I made a new motor mount and did away with their horrible design. So, in 4yrs and 19,000 miles, I did improperly install the mount. But, even being upside down, it does not make a big difference, it still holds the turbo support rod. The was improperly installed maybe 200 miles of the 19,000 miles and there were numerous failures before and after that.
      Also, did Jackson racing tell you how many turbo kits they continued to sell from January to July when they knew their initial tune was terrible, & caused numerous engine failures? Did they also tell you the Honda race team removed the turbo from all of their cars and returned it to JR because it was a POS? They dropped it on Oscar’s desk in a box. So, many people have had the same failures. They updated the bracket from a 1 bolt to a 3 bolt design because it was bad. They increased the thickness of the header because they knew it was bad. They updated the tune because they knew it was bad. Ask them how many headers have been replaced under warranty because it’s a bad design. There’s some truth for you. I don’t have to lie to customers to protect my livelihood and keep turbo kits going out the door to provide for my family.

    Not turbo related but was wondering what side mirrors did you use and how did u mount them with the upper door enclosure? Just did my buddies and trying to figure out how to attach mirrors now. Very much appreciated

    • @gravesru

      I have the Kemimoto mirrors. To make them work, I used the drivers mirror with the passenger side mount. Write me on FB and I can send you pics with a better description. Honda-Talon Turbo-Russell on Fb

    I was watching your Mexico to Canada trip and was wondering in the hotter climate did you wish you had not installed the windshield? I live in Texas and not sure if I would regret adding the windshield and wiper.

    • @gravesru
      @gravesru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was hot for a couple days, but I would leave the windshield on if I did it again. I needed the wiper many times. I have the easy cool door latches and they really help keeping the cab cool. keepsmilingpowersports.com/products/easy-cool-door-latches?variant=22715842986102
