His head and helmet weigh 97 lbs @ 6.5 g's. Pushing straight down on his spine that's been broken twice and pieced together with rods and screws. Crazy.
I've had lunch with him in the past just 8 of us in a restaurant on St. Stephens Green in Dublin. Hands down one of the nicest blokes in the world, I was only a kid I'd say 12 so it was fascinating to hear his stories. I remember I asked him how many bones he had broken and he full on listed them out to the best of his ability and as a kid it was amazing to meet him. Top bloke and I'd love to meet him again in the future
Guy was so mad he couldn't go again, right after he said he couldn't go again he just lets his anger out on the throttle real quick haha! Guy is such a boss
In a sanitized world of professional boreman I’m so pleased that guy Martin exists. And no politics in sight, he does it for the buzz!! A real and totally decent man.
Same thing happens with drag racing record attempts...just fail to make it this time...get the crowds back for the next attempt....more money involved?
In his interview with Suzie Perry Guy said he hit 80+mph during a practice run before the cameras rolled. It's a shame the run wasn't being verified by Guinness at the time. Can't deny 78mph is impressive and so Guy,a fella with a fabulous attitude and personality.
What Guy and Colin did were both as equally impressive.....Colin maybe more because him and his buddies made his wall of death from old pallets an plywood , then ran it on a damned scooter lol no helmet, but it's ok cause he had the safety tie on
If it's not been done yet... Someone needs to get Guy and Colin together. Then put them in well kitted out shed, with an old BMW E30 and a maybe a Hayabusa engine. Plus some steel plate and a few kilos of pyrotechnics grade explosives. Ladies and gentlemen... I give to you, The (Lincolnshire) A Team. :-)
Lol @ the pissed off throttle twist at the end to get everyone away from him because he wanted another run. That was the REAL Guy Martin behind the nice bloke persona. Complete legend. -Cheers from USA.
Guy was PISSED when they tried telling him that he couldn't go again. You don't get to tell Guy Martin that's he's done, he tells you when he's done. Man is a legend.
Watched this live, on the night. But never noticed the Ronnie Smith "magic roundabout" helmet. A nice little tribute to a legend of the British biking scene!
I don't know of any other person who puts his body on the line achieving what Guy has is different disciplines. Cars, bikes, sleds..... and the list goes on! Huge respect!!
I watched this live. Channel 4 got absolutely slammed on social media. They refused to let him have a third go owing to time. Yet went straight to adverts, then filled the rest of the program with utter tripe.
Very glad the presenter said "not again" - Guy was up for it but he'd already got the record. I work in the world of aerospace life support engineering and G-LOC is no joke. G induced Loss Of Consciousness is a killer - not the LOC itself but the crash that usually happens just after. With one of our BRAG (Breathing Regulator and Anti-G) systems he could have gone faster but I guess that's cheating - he would have needed a breathing grade compressed air supply, g-trousers, a counter pressure chest garment and a positive pressure breathing gas supply through a clamped down pilots mask. In normal bike gear over 6g is one hell of an achievement.
I remember watching this the first time just seating on my living room sofa with my mum just watching and wondering what will happen and just hoping nothing bad would happen and I have the DVD of this and it is great to watch. Even though in some cases they didn't need a commentator for this it does make this a little more exciting. You couldn't have done any more then what you have done and as you do you were Brilliant that night. Well Done for breaking the record Guy, Well Done.😁👍🏆🏍🇬🇧
The "Wall of Death" has been around for many years. The traditional ride was an Indian Scout set up as a one use bike. What is kind of flaky is turning a carnival act into a speed contest. Yes, the riders over the years had to have some serious balls as does Guy Martin. The announcer sounds as if he had his cut off.
Guy pushers for more speed everything he does in life he wants more. Guy is a inspirational on us all!believe in our self's push and try and try again.Guy as proved anything is possible if you try and do ur best if u fail try again never give up on ur dreams Guy ur the man you inspire me to do more in my life tyvm!
GO AGAIN?..... Go on....... I'll go again!.......... Yeh...... rev rev revvvvvvvvvvv! Argh bollocks, they won't let me go again! I Was just gettin' warmed up! 🤣
One thing I haven’t understood; Why he call it a Late 60’s BSA based? The frame is a Harris or a Spondon, while the motor is definitely a Triumph Trident! And they made that motor Sounds Amazing!!
Remember the wall of death being done at the fair-gound, they use to use trumphs tiger cub, bigger the circle wall the faster you can go, if your circle is big enough you could go has fast has the world speed record
I'm a fan of this guy ... He accumulates experiences in motorcycles ... He reminds me a little of Burt Munro ... This guy is a real motorcycle nut (translation by google translate)
I'm no physics major, but if you increased the diameter of the wall being ridden on , wouldn't the relative speed of the rider have to increase with the size to maintain a wall ride lap? you can't keep it at 60 mph on a big enough loop because you simply wouldn't have the speed to maintain the g's. Also the G's wouldn't change, only speed and wall diameter would. He would still have to maintain his current g's on the "bigger" loop if it were to be constructs. I believe you're wrong sir
all sorts of issues with those Gs ..... fuel would be pushed down in the float bowls causing a lean mixture , the scavange pump would be struggling to return the oil to the oil tank from the sump .... lucky its only short runs .... Very nice looking Rob North Rocket 3 and such a nice sound from the triple

Listen to him talk and you can tell he is crazy. In a good way.
@@tomdickharryjane The first thing you need to know about Guy Martin... the man is bloody insane.
@@Shinx990 Yes, in a good way!
he also has male reproductive organs
The man is unbelievable haha

Guy talks the same speed he does everything else
Yeah hahah he went proper quick this time xD
Faster on a mic or a bike?
Yes, like a bullet train, i hardly catch him😅
He talks faster than I can listen, and rides faster than I can see!
Ride fast,speak fast...

I thought that rev was just a bit of a salute for the crowd.
Are you 'avin a laugh? Is he 'avin a laugh? Nah haha I could tell that was pure anger
he had enough attempts ffs. want unlimited attempts dont run with bbc and other people. ffs
@@areyouavinalaff So he could swear and not be heard by live microphones lol.
Guy Martin for worlds fastest cuppa tea. Proper job!
If he had a G suit on he would've broken the wood😂

Imagine being Guy Martin's dad, how proud must he be bloody hell
But you will also be constantly worried about your kid who loves going really fast on motorcycles.
@@eduardleon5409 his dad raced at the Isle of man tt for 15 years he knows the dangers.

pissed that he was not able to go again!
Yeah the big rev at the end seemed like an opportunity to let out some curses without being heard on live tv
Totally pissed, what an incredible rider he is,respect to this Lincolnshire man
Probably he never been taste 6 G on iomtt
I bet it was the production lawyers that shut him down. They got too scared and when he had broken the record, they wouldn't risk him running again.
He let you know when he hit the throttle he was way pissed off, what a great exhaust system he made
You could tell he was itching to get 80mph, shame the tv bosses said that's it.
ikr 80 on 8th may would have been a blessing!

Can anyone tell me what angle the wall is set at ?....Is it a true vertical 90 degree wall? Still frickin awesome even if it's not. Just curious. :-)
90 degrees

I feel like this is more about who can afford to built the largest diameter wall. The bigger the diameter the lower the relative g forces.
thats possible yes. probable too.

Centrifical force cannot be lower than the force needed to maintain the rider and bike on 90° wall. regardless of the diameter of the loop
Congratulations Guy 👍
