- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has just come out and someone had to try to beat it without collecting coins so that's exactly what I did. Now we must find out how many cat shines you can get in Bowser's Fury without collecting any coins. So sit back, relax, watch this no coin challenge and let's find out how many cat shines can you get in Bowser's Fury without touching a single coin.

Got the Fort flaptrap cat shine shard. For once Bowser Jr. was actually useful. took about 2 hours but wasn’t too hard. Sorry if it wasn’t the few months you were looking for 😏.

@@haronka Which kinda makes sense. You cannot spawn that shine without collecting coins and the islands works like in sunshine/galaxy: You must defeat the first version to advance into the next one.
@@N12015 Yes I know, but I mean that it is surprising that all other cat shines are possible to colect coinless, I mean there are 92 non-blue coin cat shines and all are possible coinless according to Cmeecraft and Waluigigoeswa, which makes this one of the most successful challenges ever
@@haronka Second to the "No hover nuzzle" challenge on sunshine. In that one you can get literally every regular shine and 23 of the 24 blue coins one. It's even barely slower than the regular playthrough if you know what you're doing (The any% is 14 minutes faster, mostly due to glitches who require the hover nuzzle and less competition), which made clear the main hability is not something you're forced to do.

I mean personally the prop box move feels like a fairly clever workaround.
Either way it doesn't really help with that one cat shard trapped in the wall and all the other shards are coinless so I don't think it matters.

3:31 there’s actually a glitch which requires you to spam crouch on ice in Crisp Climb Castle that’ll allow you to fly over the lake waters.
91 is way more than I thought possible. Maybe in the near future that cat coin will be obtainable coinless at Fort Flaptrap.

Fun fact: you could get the shine fragment on top of the coliseum just by sending bowser jr to get it from an angle in which he doesn't collide with the coin rings

Ok, so here’s an idea, and no I’m not trying to be funny, trying to beat the game while on plessie (obviously not for the bowser fights) I actually tried it out a little bit and, while it was somewhat frustrating, I wonder just how many shines you could get that way...

from what I saw on some other videos, I believe they can only ride plesi after you beat fury Bowser the first time after 50 shines

I've got a challenge for you. Luigis Mansion 2 without collecting money. Its difficult, because everything wants to give you money, and its used for permanent upgrades.
Now we just need to see the minimum coins to get every single catshine.
Cats can only ride on cat plus you once you beat the game with 50 shines for some reason it doesn't allow you to do it with regular press seat but I think the cats trust it more when it's cat

You could also just tell bowser junior to get the cat shine shard in clawswipe colleseum by using the cursor and he would be actually helpful for once instead of getting a propellor box

1:37 there are also some invisible blocks at the back of that wall that you can use to get the Cat and dont need plessie

A much easier propeller box for the Colosseum would be from the Key shine on the Ice-Skate island, but hey, whatever works for you.
You have to complete the second shine to get a propeller box there, and that one is the blue coin mission

You can get the Scamper Shores Blast the Fury Blocks shine without collecting a coin! I went over to get it, intending to use the same sort of save-scummery that was used to get the calico kitten shines (it saves when you get the shine, so if you reload, in theory you shouldn't have collected any coins). I guess I had positioned the camera perfectly or something, but when Mario finished getting the shine, Bowser Jr just flew out from the alcove, no coins collected!

So u don’t need the propeller box to get that last shard from clawswipe coliseum... if you use the feature that moves bowser jr he can grab the shard

I don't know why, but it took me a minute to remember this wasn't a "no jump" run.
The one on wisker Island has hidden blocks your supposed grab the cat and climb but this way will give you coins

i didnt know kittens could ride plessy i tried once and it didnt work, but i stll got the cat by using a series of invisible wide coinboxes directly over where the cat is. not viable for this challenge, but i believe that is the dev intended method

You could’ve used bowser jr to get that cat shard on the Colosseum. I don’t think he would’ve touched coins if you pointed him there.

All required coins for 100 cat shines are blue coins (the other two were proven possible to avoid)

I wonder why so many people didn't know that you have the cat ride plessis. That was my first thing to do when I went to get the third cat
It's because they can only ride Plessie after defeating Bowser after 50 Cat Shines. If your Plessie isn't a cat, then they won't ride with you.
Oh, that makes sense. I didn't know that because I only did them after I beaten the game
There are invisible coin blocks that you can climb to drop off the cat. That's what me and my cousin used when we played it
Personally, I wouldn’t count Blue Coins against the coin counter (as silly as it sounds) since they’re absolutely required for 100% completion
They give a coin every time you collect them
nah they count the end, you could count them as meta coin collected. But eh that's just lying to yourself.
