Oberammergau is a municipality in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in Bavaria, Germany. The town is famous for its production of a Passion Play, its woodcarvers, and the NATO School.

I grew up in old time ago when I was a little girl after the war it was a Tiny Village right near the Beautiful Church it's too bad they didn't show the interior of that church that's where my mother got married it's too bad it didn't drive right to the keuffel mountain I live just below that mountain in our beautiful little Log Cabin on top of the hill overlooking oberammergau. I had wonderful memories of that Village looking at this video it's completely grown with so many buildings I don't recognize it anymore all that land was once Farmland open land my aunt had a farm right here where we live it was truly a beautiful country in those days now it's all commercialized The Way of the World thank you my mother would have loved to have seen this video thank you so much

I lived with my aunt and uncle on base while my uncle taught at the NATO school back in 1981-1982. Very fun to see Ogau again.

My happiest childhood memories were in Oberammergau when visiting my family on Mom's side. I remember borrowing Omi's bicycle and being gone for hours. It was a very liberating experience for me at the ages of 10-13. I still have family here and dream of the day I can visit again. Last time was in 1991. Thank you for posting this. It really made my day.

Too bad, I had booking here for Sept 2020 passion play but was postponed due to corona virus. I hope I can go in 2022.
