- Meet Jesus in Bavaria: The world's best-known passion play has been taking place in the village of Oberammergau every ten years since 1634. In it, some 2,000 villagers enact the final days in the life of Jesus Christ. To add a touch of authenticity, male protagonists are barred from shaving or visiting the barber for a whole year! DW’s Lukas Stege went to Oberammergau to experience this extraordinary event - and even got himself a selfie with Jesus.

I came across a carved pair of hands on wood yesterday and looked up the town carved on the back and it all lead me to here! I am half German so this discovery is super special. Thank you to who ever donated the carving. I bought it as a Thanksgiving present since I am going home to America for a month. ❤

It was fun seeing your choice of locations for the video. I have been to Oberammergau a couple of times and will be back this December. I am bringing my granddaughter for the Christmas Markets so we have a side trip to Oberammergau. By the way, your beard looks nice and the high speed trip with you was great.

The passionstheatre that you see in this video (particularly at 1:25) appeared in an episode of ‘My Babysitter’s a Vampire’ entitled ‘Jockenstein’ that used the theatre as the exterior of a hockey rink in 2012.
I've been watching all videos about Oberammergau trying to find information about accommodations close to the Oberammergau train station. But so far I haven't seen any. I hope someone vlogger would include this info in their vlogs. I hope to visit Oberammergau/Germany before the passion play 2022 ends and I am traveling by public transport. Thank you.
