Your watering system is awesome and that auger on the drill is priceless!! You save so much time! You channel is the BEST! I’m 70 and I can’t do what you guys do but I share your channel and let people I know that have gardens... I share your information!!! Love you guys!! ❤️ God Bless!!!
I grew up in central California surrounded by olives and oranges. I understand drip irrigation and you are using probably the most effective watering system there is. its easy, quick and efficient. as always, another great video from the best channel on you tube. blessings
Of course, show us all your planting. I will never have what all you have planted. But we enjoy what we do plant. Thank you and nay God Bless you and yours..
I realize I am a total LT addict this morning, even though I’m not a farmer: I watched you putting in your first tomatoes and “told” you to put in some of your secret ingredient - rabbit manure!!! Congratulations and best wishes for this new season. JDBurns
You two are amazing and such an inspiration. I NEVER thought I would/could do some of the projects and things I am doing. It is all because of your incredible teaching skills and sweet disposition. I am up at 5am, make my coffee, excited for the day and it is all because I and get to watch the latest VLOG. Then start the day. A HUGE Thank you from my kids and I and Gods blessings!
Why do some people give a thumb down, they don't have to watch. Unlike me, I find all videos interesting. I have Parkinson's and unable to do gardening, but still enjoy to watch . Thank you. Mo (South Coast UK)
Three actually.......if you’re not using mains water and there is fine silt or organic matter in your water it’s a good idea to flush the system out periodically before it bungs up completely.......fine silts can pass through the normal filter meshes ..... very fine filters will reduce the flow and pressure.......maybe too much!!!!!
I was just thinking the other day that maybe we wouldn’t have as many weed in our garden if we weren’t using sprinklers. Was thinking we needed to get drip hoses. Never knew they made drip tape like this! Our garden will be completely transformed next year! Oh and that auger is genious!!!! Thanks for sharing what you have learned with our family!
It was developed as one time use on large scale operations and they buried it. But of corse it gained popularity with home gardens and homesteaders and if you take care of it you can use it a few years.
Last year, or the year before, Kevin and Sarah did a video about how they plan their garden and time throughout the year. Building in things like processing meats, garden planting, etc. It's quite elaborate but saves them so much time the following year. It's quite a good video for those who have trouble planning things, or figuring things out.
Yes, I want to see what all you’re growing! Seems like you have got everything dialed in and your system with all the parts and setup in place now. It’s going to make the rest so much easier.
Another great video.. Still love to see that you guys work so good together as a team to accomplish a goal. You get so much more done in one day as a team. Thanks for the great info about using the water tape didn't look that difficult to put in either.
WOW!!! You guys are amazing. Not only are you intellectual but extremely talented and very neat. You constantly amaze me. This is a work of art garden. I can’t wait to watch the harvest growing. God bless all of you and give you strength. Such fine examples of lovely people.
Your homestead is set up in an excellent manner. I would be interested in knowing what your yearly costs is to raise your own meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables. I would also be interested in what your yearly expenses are for the items you can not raise yourself.
I Love watching your chanel. I learn so much. Like I learned I should have pruned the bottom leaves and planted my tomatoes deeper. Oh well, there is always next year :) Thank you for being such a great source of inspiring information. Yes I would Love to see what else you are planting. This is my first year trying to grow a years worth of food. So it is wonderful getting all the great little tricks and tips. Take care and keep smiling :)
Used coffee grounds also make a great soil treatment at planting time, especially for these tropical/jungle plants that come from high-organic acid soils, trying to make it in clay ground. Just mix some spent grounds with your backfill, and it will also draw in more worms & subsurface symbiotes to enrich the soil. If you compost, mix the grounds through that as well. Everybody loves coffee :)
When I get ready to plant my tomatoes I clip all those lower leaves off all plants at once, so I don't have to fiddle with each individual plant in the garden. I also clip them off with scissors, so as to avoid damaging the main stem in any way. I do all my suckers the same way ... with scissors. I also cut off my peppers, tomatoes etc instead of twisting/breaking them off the plant. Of course I can choose to do it that way because I don't have as many plants as you do. I think it is much easier to clip off beans/cucumbers etc and not fight with the plant to remove them. I see so many people struggling with removing beans/peppers etc, that I can't believe they aren't just snipping them off. YMMV ... you've got it down to a system. Although I enjoy the whole gardening process, I do try to streamline some of the smaller steps along the way. Take care you guys.
I have the yard and am behind but have a grow light in the house to feed my obsession! Lol. But this weekend is our plant out. Crossing fingers no more snow for us lol.
“Its me again Margrett” in my Ray Stevens voice! We were getting ready to get an irrigation system put in by digging trenches with valves (back breaking) then y’all put this video up and I sent to my husband and his reply was “ this family is my hero”!!! Xoxoxo
Always awesome, looks great as usual. Every year your garden is lush and full. Are you guys doing the melon patch this year? Mmm... fresh melon 😍. Not really a basic but... can you resist?
Show us everything you plant. I'm putting in a garden this year (been three years) in zone 5 and watching you plant is a great motivation and encouragement.
Perfect timing. I just ordered my drip irrigation system like 2 days ago. Seriously how did you guys know!😂. Anyway, glad you mentioned about the end clips for the drip tape because I don't think mine came with any.
I save money on end clips by just cutting a 1 inch piece of the tape then when you fold the ends up I squeeze them together and slide the piece of drip tape over the end. Works perfectly.
I have never heard of using trellises for tomato plants. I'm interested to see how they grow with that instead of tomato cages. Also, just received your rabbit recipe book today and I am excited to try some of those recipes.
You bet I want to see you plant your entire summer garden. I learn so much from you both. I used a jar of canned chicken to make chicken spaghetti. It was delicious!! God bless you both!
I planted our 30 tomato plants along with some herbs yesterday. We’re doing hugel gardening with logs, leaves we saved in the fall , old hay and straw then soil and compost on top. I got 64 pumpkins out of 9 seeds last year doing this method. Our aged compost has chicken manure - like gold I say. Happy planting everyone. Putting seeds in today. Happy Memorial Day too.
I learn so much from you two. I am not a farmer, I just have 2 raised beds and one huge in ground. I will be using a lot of your tricks to improve my gardens. I am addicted to your channel. I watch it every morning while I am having my coffee. Happy farming. God Bless.

love the planting auger, they should make a long one so you stand and drill.
We can get long ones where I live, maybe do a bit of google to see if you can find a long one that will ship to you?
I have a long one and a short one. They are out there.
Why do some people give a thumb down, they don't have to watch. Unlike me, I find all videos interesting. I have Parkinson's and unable to do gardening, but still enjoy to watch . Thank you. Mo (South Coast UK)
Yes, I would like to see what else you plant, please!
Good Morning and thanks!
The screw-type cap at the far end of the main pipe is there so you can drain all water out of the pipe to prevent freezing.
No, it's so the system builds up water pressure to move h2o through the drip tape.
Thanks for the info! It serves 2 things?

I need that bit for next year. Hand dug 100 tomato plant holes and 50 green pepper plants.
You will not regret it, such a time and back saver
Thanks for taking the time to film this

Where do you get the jet star ? Are they started by seed beds you’ve planted yourself or are you ordering seedlings?
