@@ajl8615 Hi Aileen, I know I enjoy when videos have background music so I've tried to include that in my videos. I know in some of my videos, especially my first ones, the music is too loud. I'm still really new to TH-cam and video editing so I'm working on getting it right. I also know that not everyone likes music in the background and that's ok. I hope you still got something from the video and I appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback as it helps me to improve so my videos can be helpful and enjoyable for as many people as possible. 😊🌱
I've been watching many of these videos about DIY drip irrigation installation while planning my own, and I must say this was the most comprehensive and helpful I've seen. Thanks!
THANK YOU, watching this made me realize I only bought 1/4" tubing and connectors, never thought about adding a 1/2" tube first as a general area line. Time to make a trip to the hardware store!
I’ve been researching diy drip irrigation system best suited for my garden. I was still very confused as to what an emitter was or an adapter until I watched Youre video! You’ve made it so easy to understand. I wasn’t able to figure out what I needed for my garden but you simply put it! Made a list and now I’m going to measure tomorrow and go buy some things!
This video is simple, but incredibly easy to follow. I appreciate that it doesn't feel like I'm watching an ad for a bunch of different products. You are concise and to the point, and thorough and you have gained a subscriber in me! Thank you!
Thank you for the clear instructions and breakdown. I’ve seen a bunch of drip videos and they all seemed kind of intimidating still but this is like ‘drip for dummies’ and I appreciated it. i feel like I can actually do this myself now.
I'm happy you found the video helpful ☺ it's easy to be intimidated at first, but with a little patience, anyone can set one up. thanks for watching 😊🌱

It is a real commitment to water your veggies day and night in the hot months and I cannot thank you enough for providing me with all the necessary information for successful hands free watering! absolutely subscribed and going to catch up on more content.
Thank you, this video told med exactly what I wanted to know (and what the salesmen couldn´t tell me when asking them). Just a suggestion, don´t have music in the background while speaking in the video. Me, as a non native english speaker with a hearing issue have big problems to hear what you say.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Simple, straightforward, which is refreshing. Could use conversions from inches to millimeters for a more international audience. But I like the authenticity
Best video. Only one that was straight to the point, easy to follow, and not a lot of irrelevant chatter. I watched the video, went to the store (can write down shopping list as you watch) come home and set up the irrigation. Done and done. Thank you!!
Hello! My name is Christina and I’m a new gardener. Last year I created my first ever garden beds in my front yard. It was a LOT of watering and I told myself next year I’m installing drip irrigation. I watch Laura from Garden Answer all of the time and she’s always raving about how helpful the drip irrigation is. But unfortunately she doesn’t have too many videos on the subject and the main video she has was made over four years ago! And I’m pretty sure it was a paid proven winners video, which I’m not knocking, we all have to make our money, but I’m always weary with sponsored videos. I’ve been looking on Amazon and Home Depot for a kit, but a lot of them have a bunch of stuff I won’t need. I think I’m just going to end up purchasing everything individually. Thank you for including Amazon links. It’s so appreciated! And almost all of the items were still available(the orbit hole puncher kit was not available). I can’t even tell you how much I appreciated this video. You are such a good teacher! You should really think about teaching a gardening class or something. I just watched your video, writing everything down and listening intently to every word you said. I really appreciated the fact that not only did you go over all of the details, but then you showed us exactly how you were hooking up all of the pieces to your hose. I keep seeing a lot of TH-cam videos where people will sit at a table and just hold up the pieces while trying to explain it. It’s so much more helpful when you can see the exact set up, connected to the hose. I think the only thing I’m going to do different from you is instead of running quarter inch tubing with emitters on the end going to each plant, I’m going to get the 1/4” tubing with holes every 6 inches and run that around all of my flowers and shrubs. But even though I’m doing it slightly different than you, the video was so helpful, it really was! I can’t thank you enough🌻🌸
@@InTheGarden Appreciate you taking the time to respond! I would love to use this video as a reference and in the future if I have a question or two, maybe you wouldn’t mind helping me out. Have a great day!

Thank you for this informative video! I realized that I was going to buy WAY TOO MUCH 1/2” tubing. Was thinking to go all the way around the perimeter but now realized that I don’t need to do that.
I learned so much by just watching this video. Lots of valuable information right off the bat from a knowledgeable expert. Well designed how-to video from planning to installation. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Lots of good tips. About eleven minutes in, you talk about burying a line under a walkway. That is smart to avoid trips/falls but I'd not cover it with stones for fear the stone would pierce the plastic when people walk on it...
This video, and the one on soaker hose attachments, have made it easy for me to plan my system. I thought that it would be complicated and stressful, but you have made it easy. Thanks!
Thank you! I got one of these for Christmas with no directions and was too intimidated to put it together. I'm not sure if I have everything you recommend, but now at least I understand the general principle. Thank you!
We installed this system as you described & very happy with it. Now I I need tips on how to store tubing for winter without taking every thing apart. Here in Ohio, temperatures get well below -0- in winter.
I just drain mine and leave it in place, however, It doesn't get quiet that cold where I am, typically 20s is our lowest. It may be better for you to remove and store over winter unless you can be sure it is completed drained and dried out. Even a drop of water in an emitter can cause damage if it freezes. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
Thank you so much. Really good video! Well and easily explained. One of the best and useful video I have watched for a while. I am ready to stop wasting a ton of water with sprinklers and drip it directly to the target plants.... Thank you..
Awesome job, this answered most of all my questions in an easy manner. I have an automatic drip system off my sprinkler box valves, that was installed over 17 years ago, that I haven't used in in over 10 years. Lots of things have changed including new Birdie raised garden beds I'm installing and several new trees and two old ones that are gone. Very detailed and appreciate all the information. I had PVC irrigation installed throughout our new backyard. I’m in the process of adding drip lines to my plants from the pvc irrigation line heads. This was very helpful to do that.

Thanks for this comprehensive and easy to follow advice. Toward the end, you mention "be sure and watch the video about how to water your plants". Could you please share that link?
I purchased an inexpensive drip system from Amazon for my raised beds. Received it today, but it came with very poor instructions ~ a bunch of pieces and nothing labeled, etc. You drastically cleared things up for me! After a trip to Lowes to get the couple of tools you suggested and more of the larger tubing I am confident I can get this installed. Thank you sooooo much! Linda from Tennessee
Great video! Very easy to understand. I have just started a veggie garden and have 4 raised beds, approx 4x10 each. Was a lot to water this year along with all my flower beds in the front yard so I am hoping to set up some drip. Thanks for the great info!!
Thanks for all the useful info. Just want to add that the background music (totally useless) makes it very difficult for hard of hearing people to listen to your otherwise great presentation. It help that you have a good voice and diction.
I plan to install a drip irrigation and your video explanations and tips are most helpful. Thank you. Do you have a video on how to build the canopy that you built for your tomato plants as well??
I have plans to make a video about setting it up, but here is a quick explanation: **I also discuss it a little bit in these videos: Protect plants during heat wave th-cam.com/video/s8QBMlvHtAg/w-d-xo.html Protect plants from wind th-cam.com/video/Wt944i5Q53I/w-d-xo.html I set up a frame using PVC pipe and have it anchored using rebar. I used 3ft rebar and hammered it into the ground about half way and the pipe just slips over. I use mostly 40% shade cloth with the grommets sewn into it. I attach using ball bungee cords. Thanks for watching 😊🌱
Great video. The only thing I found missing was your backflow preventer is missing from your setup, which is connected just after the pressure reducer. This is important-and code in most areas-to prevent garden water from flowing back into your home’s water system.
Yes Michael, you are absolutely right. A backflow prevention valve is an important piece to include. My outside faucets already have them installed so I totally missed mentioning it in the video. 🤦♂️ If you don't have them you should definitely include them in your installation. Thanks for watching 😊🌱
The background music detracted from the viewing experience. When the music volume went to zero, the video was pleasant to watch. Other than the music, it was a very well presented video packed with information. ( I solved the problem by putting it on mute and using the Closed Caption function to finish the video. )
Great vid. Please consider removing the background music or at least making it much quieter, because it's so very (almost painfully) distracting throughout.
Very informative video that gives me a good start on choosing what I need to start a DI system. One small suggestion: ditch the music. It’s not necessary and is just loud enough to be distracting. It was like a radio in the background that you kept wishing someone would turn off.
Glad the video was helpful. Many people have mentioned the music being distracting. I'm planning on doing an updated version of this video this year, with no music. I appreciate the feedback, thanks for watching 😊🌱

Glad you enjoyed the video and got somethin from it. Thanks for Watching! 😊
Smart to install your drivers irrigaationsystem
So lucky to have found your video. Excellent work and thank you!!!
thanks for watching 😊🌱
Thanks for all the useful info. Just want to add that the background music (totally useless) makes it very difficult for hard of hearing people to listen to your otherwise great presentation. It help that you have a good voice and diction.
This was such a great video! Very helpful and I feel like I have true grasp on how to do this!
I plan to install a drip irrigation and your video explanations and tips are most helpful. Thank you. Do you have a video on how to build the canopy that you built for your tomato plants as well??
I have plans to make a video about setting it up, but here is a quick explanation:
**I also discuss it a little bit in these videos:
Protect plants during heat wave th-cam.com/video/s8QBMlvHtAg/w-d-xo.html
Protect plants from wind th-cam.com/video/Wt944i5Q53I/w-d-xo.html
I set up a frame using PVC pipe and have it anchored using rebar. I used 3ft rebar and hammered it into the ground about half way and the pipe just slips over. I use mostly 40% shade cloth with the grommets sewn into it. I attach using ball bungee cords.

If you don't have them you should definitely include them in your installation.
Thanks for watching 😊🌱
@@InTheGarden Where would you put the back flow preventer? Thank you.
@@mandiegarrett1706 mine are installed right on the hose bib, before everything else
@@InTheGarden Thank you.
Thank you for this clear, complete guide! Just what I needed.
Very informative and easy to understand! Thanks for sharing! Subscribed/Liked
Thanks for watching
Really great video! Super informative 👏👏👏
Thanks for watching 😊
The background music detracted from the viewing experience. When the music volume went to zero, the video was pleasant to watch. Other than the music, it was a very well presented video packed with information. ( I solved the problem by putting it on mute and using the Closed Caption function to finish the video. )
I really appreciate Mark Banana taking the time to teach me about irrigation systems. Very Informative.
nice video! don't forget a backflow regulator so that dirt in the tubes can't get back into your potable water unless your silcock has it built in
Where in the scheme of all those things do you put it? Before or after the regulator or ??
@@cerenademe9433 at the silcock
@@ethanr3832 what? I don’t know what that is. ... I should have asked, between what 2 pieces - ?
@@cerenademe9433 the backflow prevention valve should go right on the hose bib (faucet), before everything else. 🙂
@@InTheGarden Thank you! 🙏🏻
What a great video!!!! Thanks for making and sharing! 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching 😊🌱
I absolutely loved this video. I've been trying to work out how to do this. So greatful. Sue
Great vid. Please consider removing the background music or at least making it much quieter, because it's so very (almost painfully) distracting throughout.
Lol
I didn’t even notice until you mentioned it 🤷🏼♀️
The music needs to go. Almost didn't make it to the end. However the info was good so I pushed through it. Glad to see it wasn't just me.
Yes Ms Karen.
Wow! What an excellent and thorugh video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching 😊🌱
Excellent explanation. Thanks.
