Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
Is this vlog a paid promotion with the cruise line? No, we have never worked with a cruise line before (I doubt they even know who we are 😂). If that ever changes, we will be sure to let you know in the video.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal.... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

We would love to have the cookie thing but it contains hazelnut and Brian is allergic. It sounds amazing though and we still almost order it every time, we feel like it might be worth dying for 😆
Yes Anthem was my first cruise and I believe Jamie's was my first Specialty Dining! And we did get the brownie for dessert
Because of your Norway videos I've added this to my bucket list for 2024 (already have 2 b2b booked for 2023. Loyal to Royal. Wish I could find this exact itinerary. Crossing fingers for.2024 sailings to come out. Also a huge Titanic fan so have to do the museum

You’ve just had your first scotch egg! Didn’t look like the best example but sausage meat around an egg is a scotch egg. I was on the Wonder in May and that had smoking in the casino so I’m guessing it must be ok in the med. We are doing this cruise next September so thank you for your insights

Anthem must just be fantastic for a Norway cruise - I did that route on MSC Virtuosa in July which was excellent, but I'd love to try it on Royal! Which Fjords did you guys visit?

Was surprised when you had the key as I thought you were Diamond members and thought you would have those perks already. Brian thought the info you shared from Captains questions was good. Kerry your sarcasm makes me laugh and relatable to me haha. My relatives are all English except me and they tend to be more reserved. Also could be wrong but am pretty sure smoking is not allowed in the casino’s in Australia as we have nonsmoking indoors in all public places. Think the boats are the same in Australian waters.

The thing you had with the scotch egg was a pork pie, although it did look like it may have had other meat besides pork in it, we would still generally refer to it as a pork pie, - A Brit :)
In Australia we eat a lot of meat pies. They are delicious.
I love a pumpkin pie but I find fruity pies a little too sweet and intense
Supposedly, they separate your luggage if you have The Key when you disembark so it’s easier to find
I love the extra tid bits of information. Looking on going on our first cruise and since we live in NY would sail out of NJ. Looking into Anthem because of the larger indoor pool area because you never know what weather will be like up here. Could be snowing in April. For some reason I think I will be calling the towel animals Gus. Not sure why lol.

Hey Brain, what is the make and model of your drone and do you like it?
We use a DJI Mini 2. I love and would definitely recommend it! One of the things that’s great about it is that it’s very light, so there’s a lot less drone rules you need to worry about. For example you don’t have to register it if using for non commercial use, and there’s a lot less rules on where you can fly it. It’s also pretty easy to start learning how to fly it, plus I think the video quality is great for the low price.
I'm surprised you two recommended getting the Key since so many of the perks are similar to what you get at a high loyalty tier. If you're already planning on buying the high speed internet it makes more sense, but why would you buy multiple internet connections when you can just share one connection?

How did you guys transfer to and from the terminal in Southampton to the airport? Assuming you flew into Heathrow. What time did your flight depart returning to the US and did you feel you had plenty of time to commute?
Yeah we went through Heathrow and booked a car service online (London Minicab Service) before our trip. It took about two hours to get to southampton in the taxi (we flew in the day before) and on the way home our flight was at 1:30p and we had plenty of time. We did get off the ship as quickly as possible and had good luck with traffic and it only took about 1-1.5 hours
Brian, can you please tell me if your cabin was a jr. suite or balcony ?
This cruise we had a “Spa Junior Suite” Also known as a category J4 Junior suite. This type of junior suite set up is only found on Quantum Class ships and it’s our favorite
After watching your videos, my husband announced he will be picking up extra shifts at work so we can do a Norwegian cruise in the middle of next year. Where do we start with researching this? I’ve only been out of the country once and my husband has never been out of the country!
We would probably start with going to the Royal site and looking at what the options are for Norway. But just a warning for budget planning, our flights were super expensive and was actually more expensive than the cruise fare. Also we would recommend looking at Alaska too, as it’s a comparable experience at a much lower price, and much easier to get to Seattle
Wait a minute, Brian’s birthday cruise and no Starbucks? Did the Ben and Jerry’s win out? I will have to watch.
hahaha 🤣 I had to suffer with the “proudly serving” starbucks. We did get a lot more Ben and Jerry’s than usual

Every bar and lounge on the Disney Wish has “zero proof cocktails” so I think that’s definitely becoming a thing.

It must not be mandatory for a pilot to board since on rare occasions the pilot cannot board due to rough weather but the ship is still permitted to dock if it's within safe limits I've never heard of a port being cancelled due to a pilot not being able to board.
There was also a sad story of a pilot dieing during the transfer between their boat and the ship. A sad way to view this is that local law contributed to their death since the role is advisory and the ship could have safely made it without them.
For us the key isn't worth it, even getting internet.
So surf and stream right now for 1 device which is all we need is 99$ (19.99 per day) for the 5 days whereas the key is 270$ (27$) per person per day.

For this Norway cruise, what’s something you didn’t pack that you wish you would’ve packed, and what’s one thing you did pack that you wish you hadn’t?
We actually packed just right. We did pack a lot and actually checked 3 bags. Because we had great weather we didn’t need all the rain gear, but you never know with the weather. Don’t think there was anything we needed and didn’t have.
So, British Bingo > American Bingo, but American belly flop > British belly flop!
