Bro you been missing out for years…. One word- Kayhan. F putting a airpro and then paying for a double din. My Kayhan is the best thing I did to my BF besides the built diff and axles.
@@christianwuchatsch9510 Depends on the objective. Even the Aerpro kit is a bit expensive for what it is. For a shitbox, like my wagon, I'll stick with the single DIN solution. Fascia and cabling ends up costing about $100 plus whatever single-DIN unit you buy. I don't need to see my phone messages while I'm driving. Safer that way.
WORKED AT A FORD WRECKERS FOR YEARS, THERES A TRICK TO GETTING THE TOP PLATE OFF slide your key into the middle of the fascia towards the windscreen, slide all the way right and twist the key then all the way left and top out the last clip. still snaps about 1 in 20 but works better then any other interior tool we tried!
As soon as the car didn't start I knew what you guys hadn't done 😂 taken mine out so many times it is an easy job after the first time. Get a small flat head screw driver and work those clips on the connectors a few times they can get a bit stiff and not come free when you want them to.
I had a FG MK2 XR6 from new for 10 years. It had the updated colour system with Bluetooth. But it incorporated a Ford "Typical For The Model" feature of disconnecting the Bluetooth connection when you started the motor. Every single time. It also had no reversing camera, which made reverse parking a mystery every time too. And like yours the A/C was integrated into the touch screen. I remember the car stereo shop telling me a solution was coming, which I reckoned was as likely to see in my lifetime as a return of Hayley's Comet or anthropogenic global warming proof. I ended up trading it in for a new Stinger GT last year. A red one. Best decision ever.
@@prolosertheatomistic8101 same mate, love my V8s and straight sixes. Rather a turbo 4 pot than a V6. The Stinger is cool as fuck but, probably one of the best options if you were looking for a SS, XR8 or XR6T and don't want a Mustang.
@@TheTeeroy32 Yeah would rather a turbo 4 myself too. V6's can be good but there's something so cool about the smooth torque of an I6 or V8. Love my XR6T, I feel like going to any other engine bar a LS, RB, or 2JZ will be a huge step down.
Funny enough that i found this video as i was looking today for prices on the aftermarket kayhan icc and there was another brand as well. This upgrade to the facia takes you back to old school double din unit which is essentially what i always wanted to do to the territory! Great work guys and yes i snapped that filler panel in my BA ute as well!!!!

Subscribed the second you said you hate volume up/down buttons. Speaking my language mate! Volume knobs are hard to come by on a decent double DIN these days. Even worse is the touchscreen volume controls.. Good luck hitting that without taking your eyes off the road for 30 seconds.
Mine was a shocker to. Now I have a double din audio system in my BF2 XT Falcon, and I absolutely love it. I broke my top cover to, they are really brittle.
I have a BA XR8. Almost no options were ticked by the original buyer when new. It has the basic ICC like the one in the video, no gauge pod, no Fairmont clock, not even the stripes along the doors. It does have the phone presenter: probably the only option. I would like to try the gauge pod for voltmeter and oil pressure gauge.

That TOP panel death - ruined my soul hahah. Lift rear 1st, then slowly move the whole panel back towards windscreen. Shame Ford didnt put this in logbook, "HowTo" in glove box. The kayhan unit I had was very average - at least this version has provisions for adding your own choice of deck, and it will incorporate with the AC/Heater controls
Went I first finished my auto elec apprenticeship and started working on cars alot with another business I heard about those triangles snapping and immediately looked at one to work out the exact points to lever them up with a pry tool. So far so good I have pulled a heap of them out and have yet to snap one haha.
Totally understand the green and blue thing, but my OCD would be more triggered with an XR Dash in a XLS… maybe changing the lights? could be a future video, heard it’s been done 🧐

Planning on adding this to my 2006 TX Territory, for someone who has only had experience changing headlights, fuses and tyres. Do you think I'd be able to do this? Taking off the panels and the stereo seems easy, but everything past that loses me quite quick. On-top of that, how would you go about installing a reversing camera as well? I know that you can use this kit with the existing reverse camera, but would the same process apply to adding a new one?
How do you know if the infodapter is faulty? I've installed mine in and watched maybe every install video there is on TH-cam re: this unit - when I press Menu/Trip and or Climate buttons, my unit flicks over to 'no video signal' any knowledge on this? My unit is a Sony XAV-AX5000
Whoever designed that facia needs a Pat on the back. The buttons look far better than original, and the instructions and quality look top notch. Well done. 👏🏻

I bought my BA with the unit preinstalled (worked well for 5 months), so I have no idea re fuse/relay location and have checked what I could internal box and under the bonnet, as well the manual which I have. Any input/heads up/moment in video I missed? Anybody? Cheers...
As an owner of a Toyota Soarer i can really relate to this, getting a single din head unit in and working is pretty easy, double din on the other hand is a whole other story, I'd have to get a custom built loom from nz, an ac unit imported from usa, and god knows what other changes or parts I'd need, so I went with single din and all I really miss out on is a reversing cam but I just put a monitor inside my sun visor
I can also relate to the wiring stuff, my first car almost got burned down by my horrible first attempt at wiring, my soarer definitely shows how much I've improved and learned, currently she's got 3 amps, 2 subs, 2 tweeters, 2 6 by 9s, a bass enhancer and 2 4 inch speakers (and not a single blown fuse or anything fried or killed yet) and my god it's good, free back massages when I knock off from work lol

yes indeed lol RIP top panel. I got mine a few days ago. Haven't got a head unit yet, but thought Id carefully ....oooooh so carefully....start removing the panels. I watched all the vids....you're supposed to lever the back up gently and then pivot it up and forwards .....the two clamp thingies just shattered off and then the whole thing just disintegrated lmao. They're near impossible to remove now without damage. My 03 BA is 21 years old.....that's a *_LOT_* of heat cycles in the Australian sun suckin up all that UV. All these plastic parts pretty much ensures that most modern cars will never make it to 'vintage' with all original parts. Hopefully 3D printing and AI powered scanning software for phone cameras cn make replacement of super rare plastic parts no big headache in the future (that's if we are even allowed to drive them....we'll probably have to brew our own petrol in a few decades if the WEF muppets get their way)
I know ba standard screen was able to swapped with the chia larger screen might be easier and can have blue tooth accessory fitted what the price and source for your new unit

Was that ute ABS? I did the exact same mod on my ute with an XR6 dash after watching this and now it keeps chucking up ABS, trac control lights and brake warning light. My ute does not have ABS, i was just wondering how to take these lights away?
Hey mate, this is a BF series 2, I’m pretty sure it has ABS, I never had any issues with lights but I did make sure to get a BF series 2 xr6 dash too. Just incase there was any difference in wiring with different models
Rather than replace the top triangular bit, opt for a guage pod with amp and oil presure for NA, or boost and oil press for Turbo. And run the wires while the centre units out, and tape to top of dash to connect up once centre untits back in.

Seriously the nav system is ancient and I can't find any reliable info about whether stuff like parking sensors will work after swapping it out for my double din sony and what facia to use etc. Its a nightmare but I love the cars

Was going to do it as my radio is crap plus my heater doesn’t work! I was told that it had a crook sensor! So doing the radio din, will it replace the sensor too? Cheers Ray
An extremely common reason for the heater to stop working on B series falcons is they snap the blend shaft in the AC unit behind the dash. Ford do a new one that is more reinforced now. It's about a 4 hour job to change out for somebody that has done a couple before (dash has to be removed).

Aerpro have been "releasing" an FG facia kit for years now. No idea when itll actually arrive.

Nathan, the fan on the back of the ICC is the cabin temp sniffer sensor on those cars lucky enought to have the full auto Him set up

You can buy the top hats off ebay brand new. They arent too expensive either.

Seriously the nav system is ancient and I can't find any reliable info about whether stuff like parking sensors will work after swapping it out for my double din sony and what facia to use etc. Its a nightmare but I love the cars

Was going to do it as my radio is crap plus my heater doesn’t work! I was told that it had a crook sensor! So doing the radio din, will it replace the sensor too? Cheers Ray
An extremely common reason for the heater to stop working on B series falcons is they snap the blend shaft in the AC unit behind the dash. Ford do a new one that is more reinforced now. It's about a 4 hour job to change out for somebody that has done a couple before (dash has to be removed).

So 600 for the fascia and 600 for a stereo. Pretty much whatbI paid for my ute. I think I'll keep using my crappy bluetooth speaker
