I'm in the process of finishing my FG XR6. I've had it since new in 09. It was my company car hence an N/A. I liked it too much to depart with and the payout was only $5,800 in 2014, so I picked it up thinking I would play with it at a later date. Kids, business and all. So now I have put on Tien coilovers with the EDC and superpro bushes throughout. 19 x 245 and 19 x 275 rims and tyres. Brembo 6/4 brakes. FGX Lge screen update. Paint hand rubbed and two more coats of clear. Nitro. Debadge and removed spoiler. Dark window tint. LSD and strengthen half shafts. ZF service and upgrade. Things to come. Recaro Pro L Full leather interior with contrasting blue and white stitching, and blk headliner. F6 bottom end. Flowed. Head flow and polish. Picked up a complete turbo set of a BA XRT for 1500. Labor costs to fit and dyno. You might think I've gone the wrong way and should have bolted a turbo on it strait away. But for one they handle like shit std. Can be made drive ok at around 220kw. At 300 + kw's turbo'd. Nah they fall to bits. They're impossible to balance well.

Thanks. You have great enthusiasm. I would put 1. extractors and exhaust upgrade; 2. Strengthen suspension (not lower it) 3. Better instrument lights; 4. Extra gauges eg oil, volts; 5. Tint windows and spoilers if not already on; 6. Better heat extracting diff cover; 7. Transmission cooler and better pan if possible; 8. Better oil pump. 9. Driving lights and nudge bar for out in country. All it needs is money...
Mine would be for a vl calais on my ps 1. A nice set of wheels 2. Exhaust system 3. Bigger cam 4. Custom seats with my plate imprinted on the headrest 5. Some Bowdens polish and car wash to give it a weekly wash and polish. Love the work zac keep it up. Do a bog skid and film it

Underdrive pulleys ,headers, hi flow cat, 2.5 exhaust , cold air intake (pod in box)......thats what I have on mine, plus plus big mouth tb and wheels and suspension:)
1. If >100K kms new shock absorbers. OEM or Bilstein. 2. Poly bushes for sway bars. 3. High quality tyres - Michelin, Continental, Pirelli, Bridgestone et al. 4. Headers and dyno tune. 5. XR6T DBA rotors and Ferrodo pads.
I just don't think many people know how quick FG's really are. I've got a newer 6spd G6E (previously turboed, but returned to NA for sale) and I've won more races than I've lost in it, even against cars most people perceive as much faster.

If I had an na falcon and had to do something, would be to replace all the flogged bushes and butter brake discs. Wouldn't bother anything else except for add on a reverse cam and dash cam. That's all they're worth doing to. You wouldn't add a a turbo to it, you'd buy a xr6t.
I have a NA XR6, I was thinking of put on some extractors and exhaust system but I might go ahead with it because I haven’t heard any Barra 6 cylinder that doesn’t sound hollow , a lot of them sound sound terrible. The other reason is these XR6’s have terrible cabin sound proofing, the noise will give me a headache on long road trips .
@@aj1554 honestly i dont even notice drone tbh plus i just have the music up then you cant hear anything, and if your in cruise control you cant hear drone, and its only higher speeeds
If I had a na fg xr6 I would try and get one with a zf 6speed the first mod would be a 3:45 lsd diff out of a turbo one then your basic bold on mods and a 25% under drive pulley kit and a tune and put cams in it and shave the head and pocket port it and then make it nice
I have an N/A FG XR6 and.... I love it 🤷♀️🤷♀️ I can't afford to buy a turbo now (I'm 25 and on my opens). I'm kinda stuck with it now and I do not mind one bit. They're a great car and so much fun. Curious question mate why would your second modification be a set of wheels that does not increase the vehicles overall performance where it increases the overall visual look but I’m pretty sure I prefer more power than to look sexy and have no balls😅

Also with the utes, you can just get a muffler change without a exhuast system, im getting mine done tusday, pls do not straight pipe if your on your L or p plates go to a pro
1, change the XR6 snorkel to a XR6T or XR8 2, If you cannot get pacemakers, high flow cat 100 cell or 200 cell and a high flow muffler 3, XR6 mag wheels 4, put a proper suspion for strength and control 5, buy a proper cold air induction kit if you would like to remove oem air box and filter 6, cam kit 7, proper dyno tuning
I have recently bought a really clean na fg from the original owner (old lady) with 92xxxkms on it for $6,500! Is it worth doing a turbo conversion? Or should I sell it and buy a turbo fg in the future.
If it's mint, keep it that way and have a look around in the future, it might be worth doing the conversion if your car is in better shape than any flogged out xr6t ones.

I want to get one and build Barra motor for my 65 mustang roller. Make a custom supercharger manifold with a w/a block. Roots/screw style supercharger. Maybe a prochargwr style one for simplicity and a water to air cold pipe intercooler. Custom exhaust manifold with a tri pipe exhaust. 2 cylinders per pipe. X pipes between the pipes and resonators to keep it kind of tame. Cammed obviously and built rods and stock pistons and crank. But that's the basic explanation lol
Also I'm in america myself and finally found a dealer for the motors in a city about 2 hours away for great prices. And other who would ship then to me for 400 for the motors and 350 to 400 shipping in my other guy is out. I want to become a distributor myself in the states. Maybe import falcons and make then legal in state they can be.

Biggest mod i found was an eletronic throttle controller its really hard to get that bottom end power in an automatic 5 speed or 4 speed falcon and a ethrottle controller in an auto is gunna make your throttle open more when you take off shaving easy half a second off your 0-100 time. I thoight these things were scams and wouldnt make a difference but i ended up getting one and was blown the f away by how much of a difference it makes

I’m just wondering if you think it would be worth it too put a cold air kit in it, aftermarket brakes and suspension and i’m getting a bonnet scoop made for it. Do you think it’s worth spending all this money on stock falcon or should I wait down the track when I upgrade? Cheers mate
I did my P plates backwards. Had a r31 rb30+t and daily drove mates ve r8 clubby. Never had an issue with police. They just told me to behave. When i was working at ford dealership every 2nd p plater xr6 was a xr6 turbo debadged and blacked intercooler. Haha

My mods were full exhaust system, underdrive pulley, cold air intake and a custom tune , she pushed about 280hp at the wheels with 450nm torque I’d say it’s not bad for an na xr6 aye

Pretty much everything you've done so far besides lower it. That's ended up just a total toss up with you setting bad geometry just to get it to work.

My fg has a 5 speed and haven't had one problem with since the nearly 5 years I've owned it. Don't know why guys say 5 speed suck. Must just flog them

I did my P plates backwards.
Had a r31 rb30+t and daily drove mates ve r8 clubby. Never had an issue with police. They just told me to behave.
When i was working at ford dealership every 2nd p plater xr6 was a xr6 turbo debadged and blacked intercooler. Haha
We did skids in the workshop at ford. lol. The cars that were obviously looked after that weren't total shit heaps we respected.
This is why I would never take my car to another 'mechanic' because of people like you who have zero respect or care for other peoples vehicles.
First mod would be tyres wheels and suspension
1. Coilovers (lowered around 10mm lower than sssl springs)
2. 19" wheels (with fitment similar to zac's fg here)
3. Intake
4. Standard fg turbo catback with stock cat and pacemaker 4495's (highflow cats on na barras sound like dog shit)
5. Rear window spoiler
My mods were full exhaust system, underdrive pulley, cold air intake and a custom tune , she pushed about 280hp at the wheels with 450nm torque I’d say it’s not bad for an na xr6 aye

Zacster do the XR6T and Territory calipers and Disk rotors bolt straight onto NA BAs ? Are there any modifications we have to do to fit them on ?
Adding in your XR6T brake upgrade, Ford Territory brakes are the same as XR6T brakes and are available anywhere. Done it to mine.
@Danny Blackwell Danny where can we find these Territory brakes ? Would wreckers be the cheapest and best place ? What do we have to change ? Do the calipers bolt straight on NA XR6s ? Do we have to modify anything to fit them ? Cheers 🍻

Naturally Aspirated (na). You own one!
If your car doesn't have the word turbo on the badging, or a big massive "turbo intercooled" pipe on the engine, yours is NA or Naturally Aspirated
