I'm 18 years old and Dimash is my favorite vocalist. Before I found out about Dimash, I listened to Billie Eilish and Cardi B and many other mainstream artists everyday. I've always wanted to find someone who exceeds what anyone else has ever done. I randomly found Dimash while scrolling through YT Shorts. I didn't mind it at first, but came back to it a few days later. I was stunned. I did research about Dimash and ever since then, I've been extremely hooked. Dimash has a huge vocal range and is an amazing performer. I think he's the best in the world. His highest note is a D8 which is off the piano. My favorite performance is Ave Maria.

Thank you! For me, Dimash is not about range. Frankly, I don't understand why dears often are so focused on range, how many octaves he has and how high or low he can sing. Dimash is so much more than that, and as amazing as it is, for me it's not the most important thing about him. Many of Dimash's songs have no wide range or high notes because the songs don't call for it, although his singing technique and timbre are amazing in any register, genre or style he sings in. Dimash for me is a storyteller and a healer of souls, with all the emotions he transmits through his beautiful, rich voice and performances. His songs are very beautiful and moving regardless of the range of each particular song because he always does what's right for what each particular song needs and tries to express. And he is an amazing human being as well, and in his case it actually comes through in his voice and way of singing. That's one of the reason he manages to move me so much.
Don't be upset about people noticing his exceptional range. It's always going to be the first thing people notice when they listen to SOS, because it's so blatantly obvious. It's usually around the second or third time listening when people really start noticing all the different subtleties in his voice. I've seen professional vocal coaches and singers miss a lot of intricate moments in his performances. Give them enough time, and they'll soon realize there's SOOOOOO much more to his talent than range. 😊
@@Pegasus209 The problem is not with reactors, I understand their first reaction, but with the dears - they are the ones who focus on his range so much, probably because they want to impress reactors. But they try too hard and blow things out of proportion. They also invent and exaggerate a lot. Like I saw here a comment that he sings in 22 languages and some call SOS "a warm up song", as if Dimash doesn't invest an enormous effort in singing it. Seriously? And these are only two examples of many. I don't even want to repeat some of the nonsense people wrote here, because there is too much of it and it's useless and futile to fight against it. Dimash is a great and amazing enough artist and person without those exaggerations and inventions. I wish people to love the real Dimash as he is. He deserves all the love exactly as he truly is and for who he truly is. They only confuse people and create unrealistic expectations. @@Pegasus209I think it's less about noticing the exceptional range, which youd have to be deaf not to, and more about fans hammering it in so much and never talking about the other, equally as impressive aspects of his voice. it's likely because most fans can't even identify the techniques he's using so you can't be too mad at them really, but it would be nice to see more people talk about something that isn't so surface level that any average person can pick up on. when is the last time you heard a fan in the comments talk about him frying an octave below the note he's singing in sinful passion? probably never, although in my opinion, it's equally as impressive as his highest notes, and takes less luck and more work because let's be honest, plenty of men could train their whole lives just as he did and never achieve quite that range.

He was 22 years old in this SOS performance at the Singer competition for professional established singers in China. Dimash has a firm 6 octave range but that is just going from A1 to G6. He has selectively sung in the 7th octave (F7, F7#, G7, G7# and semi-tones C8# to D8 (he sustained that D8 and then added vibrato to it 😵💫 in front of a live audience of 150,000 people at the Gakku festival in Kazakhstan in 2017). Dimash is known all over the world as having the most beautiful voice and being the greatest vocalist in the world. You might want to keep listening and watching this beautiful gifted and very hard working young man who is akin to an Olympic singing athlete who is quickly conquering the world. When he is asked he usually answers that range is not important, only how he makes people feel. Once he answered that the range changes depending on when you ask him. Of course his basic range is very wide but I don't think he himself likes talking about it or focusing on it and always evades answering this question.

You asked where Dimash is now? Well, in December he participated in judging a classical vocal music competition in Budapest along with such stars as Placido Domingo and Stephan Hauser. Also in December, he gave a big solo concert in Hong Kong, which I attended, and this was my 5th live concert of Dimash (all in different countries 🤪). He is now in China attending various singing events as a superstar. In addition, we are awaiting the release of videos for 2 of his new songs, which Dimash presented for the first time at a Hong Kong concert. These clips have already been filmed and are in the post-production stage. Dimash calls himself a tenor, although his speaking voice is indeed quite low. Opinions differ regarding the breadth of its range, but definitely no less than 6 octaves, and possibly about 8. Dimash himself does not show us his extremes, so we do not know his real vocal range.

Dimash was the first singer on the first episode of the show. He WOWED everyone with this performance. He became an overnight sensation and blew up in China and on TH-cam! The winner needed to become a type of Chinese ambassador of music for a year as part of the prize, and he did not speak Mandarin, so they made him runnerup. This one song made him an immediate international star, so he was very happy, and they invite him to many Chinese stages ever since. Dimash is the finest example of an extremely humble star performer, and is appreciated all over the world now.

Dimash was 22 when he was invited to compete in Singer 2017. He was the youngest and the first foreigner to perform in the show's history. The others were 12-39 years his senior and were all professional singers with established careers....Dimash was not. None of the other singers had heard of him or even knew what he looked like. the winner of the competition was a beloved and respected 51-year-old Chinese singer named Sandy Lin ( Li Yilian ). She could not touch Dimash. As a matter of fact, some other singers were better than her. He was the first to perform and they were all blown away. He only spoke Kazakh (his native tongue) and Russian. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English ( The Show Must Go On), and Mandarin. I hope you react to his performances on The Singer 2017. He was amazing. There are videos with cc's for English translations. This performance is just the tip of the Dimash iceberg. Thank you for your fantastic reaction. All his performances from this competition are a synopsis of his musical skills that precludes the next 7 years. He keeps surpassing himself. He has a Bachelor’s, Masters and PhD all in music He started in an acclaimed music academy when he was 5. His first day he wanted to go home because the piano was out of tune. Instead of cars or trucks, he played music cassettes and slept with them. One night, the cassettes were taken away but he cried until they were returned. In Khazastan culture, the firstborn son is raised by the paternal grandparents for the first 5 years. He called his grandmother “mama” and even as an adult gave her and his grandfather credit for their influence on him. There’s so many layers to this phenomenal young man and each one is amazing. I love his first MV in 2012, My Beauty. He composed the song and his father wrote the lyrics. Still a teenager, he composed Unforgettable Day and Ia friends father wrote the lyrics. He’s composed at least 11 songs not counting The Story of One Sky. He’s such a good and humble man. He’s truly larger than life.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Actually 6- 7 octaves. About 21/22 here. He'll b 30 this coming may 2024. Couldnt win as he was a foreigner & invited to take part. They changed that rule the following year. Dimash came 2nd. Yes extremely fully trained. Holds Msster degree in composition and many degrees in various genres. He is THE complete musician. Music is his life. He plays at least 7 instruments , composes writes lyrics, etc etc. At 3 his grandma took him to the prestigeous music school of Kazakhstan at three years old to have his voice anslysed. Family were told that he was pitch perfect. Hence his ability to jump around as much as he likes in full confidene including whistle. Dimash had won a lot of very prestigious singing competitions between all the countries around Kazakhstan. Really important ones for any singer. Hence his invite. So the benefit yo him from this competition was ghst the audience were the judges, all involved in the world of music. They recognised his prowess immediately. Rftr this performance, they spread the word of this amazing singer. By morning Dimash had to go out with a bodyguard because there were crowds waiting to see n speak with him. He totally didnt expect that. He is a very humble young man. And by the end of ths day hexwas known literally across the world. And thank goodness for that. I'm 18 years old and Dimash is my favorite vocalist. Before I found out about Dimash, I listened to Billie Eilish and Cardi B and many other mainstream artists everyday. I've always wanted to find someone who exceeds what anyone else has ever done. I randomly found Dimash while scrolling through YT Shorts. I didn't mind it at first, but came back to it a few days later. I was stunned. I did research about Dimash and ever since then, I've been extremely hooked. Dimash has a huge vocal range and is an amazing performer. I think he's the best in the world. His highest note is a D8 which is off the piano. My favorite performance is Ave Maria.

Thank you! For me, Dimash is not about range. Frankly, I don't understand why dears often are so focused on range, how many octaves he has and how high or low he can sing. Dimash is so much more than that, and as amazing as it is, for me it's not the most important thing about him. Many of Dimash's songs have no wide range or high notes because the songs don't call for it, although his singing technique and timbre are amazing in any register, genre or style he sings in. Dimash for me is a storyteller and a healer of souls, with all the emotions he transmits through his beautiful, rich voice and performances. His songs are very beautiful and moving regardless of the range of each particular song because he always does what's right for what each particular song needs and tries to express. And he is an amazing human being as well, and in his case it actually comes through in his voice and way of singing. That's one of the reason he manages to move me so much.

Don't be upset about people noticing his exceptional range. It's always going to be the first thing people notice when they listen to SOS, because it's so blatantly obvious. It's usually around the second or third time listening when people really start noticing all the different subtleties in his voice. I've seen professional vocal coaches and singers miss a lot of intricate moments in his performances. Give them enough time, and they'll soon realize there's SOOOOOO much more to his talent than range. 😊
@@Pegasus209 The problem is not with reactors, I understand their first reaction, but with the dears - they are the ones who focus on his range so much, probably because they want to impress reactors. But they try too hard and blow things out of proportion. They also invent and exaggerate a lot. Like I saw here a comment that he sings in 22 languages and some call SOS "a warm up song", as if Dimash doesn't invest an enormous effort in singing it. Seriously? And these are only two examples of many. I don't even want to repeat some of the nonsense people wrote here, because there is too much of it and it's useless and futile to fight against it. Dimash is a great and amazing enough artist and person without those exaggerations and inventions. I wish people to love the real Dimash as he is. He deserves all the love exactly as he truly is and for who he truly is. They only confuse people and create unrealistic expectations. @@Pegasus209I think it's less about noticing the exceptional range, which youd have to be deaf not to, and more about fans hammering it in so much and never talking about the other, equally as impressive aspects of his voice. it's likely because most fans can't even identify the techniques he's using so you can't be too mad at them really, but it would be nice to see more people talk about something that isn't so surface level that any average person can pick up on. when is the last time you heard a fan in the comments talk about him frying an octave below the note he's singing in sinful passion? probably never, although in my opinion, it's equally as impressive as his highest notes, and takes less luck and more work because let's be honest, plenty of men could train their whole lives just as he did and never achieve quite that range.
Dimash is far more than just his octave range. His ability to cross genres equally effortlessly is in my opinion even more impressive. He's sung everything from Opera to Rap and sounds equally as good in everything.

The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). Music: Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon (French original text). The English adaptation is by Tim Rice.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

This was the first night of the contest. Dimash was the only foreigner and the youngest at that time to perform on the show (22). All the contestants were professionals invited to come. When he walked it out, they were thinking, "Who is this guy?" The next morning he was a superstar assigned a body guard.

This competition in China has a rule that only a person from China can win and this one is back in 2017, I believe. But hey, what a way to get you and your talent known to the world! In and interview he called his music neo-classical. ENJOY! ALL of his musical performances are fantastic. Oh, he turned 29 in 2023. One more thing, he loves to put 'pregnant pauses' towards the end of his performances so never cut him off until you know he's really done.

He was 22 years old in this SOS performance at the Singer competition for professional established singers in China. Dimash has a firm 6 octave range but that is just going from A1 to G6. He has selectively sung in the 7th octave (F7, F7#, G7, G7# and semi-tones C8# to D8 (he sustained that D8 and then added vibrato to it 😵💫 in front of a live audience of 150,000 people at the Gakku festival in Kazakhstan in 2017).
Dimash is known all over the world as having the most beautiful voice and being the greatest vocalist in the world. You might want to keep listening and watching this beautiful gifted and very hard working young man who is akin to an Olympic singing athlete who is quickly conquering the world. Somewhere in the 7+ Dimash refuses to answer questions about his range, saying that “it’s not important. What’s more important is whether he has conveyed the feelings and emotions of the song.” But we can’t help trying to figure it out, right? The highest note recorded so far was a D8 in his rendition of Unforgettable Day at the Gakku Music Festival. The lowest? Depending on whether you count vocal fry as notes or not… it’s probably a C0.
Type of voice? In his teens, he was classically trained as a tenor according to his voice teacher. But the classification is for normal people, not Dimash. You could call him a baritenaltsoprano-and-beyond! 😂 He said back in 2017 that we had only seen 30% of him, and I thought he was bragging! Now, seven years later, I can only say he was very modest. He was invited as a wild card contestant. He didn't win because he wasn't Chinese. Non of the other contestants had heard him sing before. With a 6 ++ octave he also is a writer, composer, male model in china, a producer of his videos and music. He also puts a little surprise in each song he sings. You asked where Dimash is now? Well, in December he participated in judging a classical vocal music competition in Budapest along with such stars as Placido Domingo and Stephan Hauser. Also in December, he gave a big solo concert in Hong Kong, which I attended, and this was my 5th live concert of Dimash (all in different countries 🤪). He is now in China attending various singing events as a superstar. In addition, we are awaiting the release of videos for 2 of his new songs, which Dimash presented for the first time at a Hong Kong concert. These clips have already been filmed and are in the post-production stage. Dimash calls himself a tenor, although his speaking voice is indeed quite low. Dimash is unique. There he was 22 years old, now he is 29 and is even better. You can hear his version of S. O. S. from his Digital Show in 2021 during the pandemic, is awesome. Dimash was the first singer on the first episode of the show. He WOWED everyone with this performance. He became an overnight sensation and blew up in China and on TH-cam! I discovered him just a week later when he covered Vitas' song Opera 2. 😂 All of those contestants are professional singers/performers. The Singer is a show for only established artists and Dimash was invited as a Wild Card, because he was just starting his career in Kazakhstan. He was the first foreigner invited to participate and the youngest at the time. ❤ And they made the mistake of having him go first! 😂🤣

The winner needed to become a type of Chinese ambassador of music for a year as part of the prize, and he did not speak Mandarin, so they made him runnerup. This one song made him an immediate international star, so he was very happy, and they invite him to many Chinese stages ever since. The Singer, it was a Chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. Dimash is a world class artist from Kazakhstan, turned 29 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, he also performs in concerts with the famous Ukrainian/Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He started his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 15 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, very elegant and very tall, Dimash is 6ft 3, 1/4.

Actually, he has a 7.7 octave range. This Chinese vocal contest was in 2017, when Dimash was 22 years old. This was his first song, he had a slight cold and had jet lag.
Who is Dimash? I, and a few others, call him the singer of the millennia because the range of musical genres, and his vocal range, are like to other. From Kazakhstan, beginning his singing career at age 5 (he's 29 now, 2023), Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. The world became aware of him in 2017 (when he was 22), during and after a Chinese singing contest called "Singer". His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year (2023).

Dimash was 22 when he was invited to compete in Singer 2017. He was the youngest and the first foreigner to perform in the show's history. The others were 12-39 years his senior and were all professional singers with established careers....Dimash was not. None of the other singers had heard of him or even knew what he looked like. the winner of the competition was a beloved and respected 51-year-old Chinese singer named Sandy Lin ( Li Yilian ). She could not touch Dimash. As a matter of fact, some other singers were better than her. He was the first to perform and they were all blown away. He only spoke Kazakh (his native tongue) and Russian. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English ( The Show Must Go On), and Mandarin. I hope you react to his performances on The Singer 2017. He was amazing. There are videos with cc's for English translations. This performance is just the tip of the Dimash iceberg. Thank you for your fantastic reaction. All his performances from this competition are a synopsis of his musical skills that precludes the next 7 years. He keeps surpassing himself. He has a Bachelor’s, Masters and PhD all in music He started in an acclaimed music academy when he was 5. His first day he wanted to go home because the piano was out of tune. Instead of cars or trucks, he played music cassettes and slept with them. One night, the cassettes were taken away but he cried until they were returned. In Khazastan culture, the firstborn son is raised by the paternal grandparents for the first 5 years. He called his grandmother “mama” and even as an adult gave her and his grandfather credit for their influence on him.
There’s so many layers to this phenomenal young man and each one is amazing. I love his first MV in 2012, My Beauty. He composed the song and his father wrote the lyrics. Still a teenager, he composed Unforgettable Day and Ia friends father wrote the lyrics. He’s composed at least 11 songs not counting The Story of One Sky.
He’s such a good and humble man. He’s truly larger than life.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas.
The song is very famous and popular in China. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once.
If you want to know a little more about Dimash, then I suggest you to watch the video where his father was in the audience. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. It was a big surprise for him as he saw his father.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional.

Yes extremely fully trained. Holds Msster degree in composition and many degrees in various genres. He is THE complete musician. Music is his life. He plays at least 7 instruments , composes writes lyrics, etc etc.
At 3 his grandma took him to the prestigeous music school of Kazakhstan at three years old to have his voice anslysed. Family were told that he was pitch perfect. Hence his ability to jump around as much as he likes in full confidene including whistle.
Dimash had won a lot of very prestigious singing competitions between all the countries around Kazakhstan. Really important ones for any singer. Hence his invite.
So the benefit yo him from this competition was ghst the audience were the judges, all involved in the world of music. They
recognised his prowess immediately. Rftr this performance, they spread the word of this amazing singer. By morning Dimash had to go out with a bodyguard because there were crowds waiting to see n speak with him. He totally didnt expect that. He is a very humble young man. And by the end of ths day hexwas known literally across the world. And thank goodness for that.
