I have loved watching your videos on the car. Last week I bought a 2020 C 43 from a different state and finally it’s getting delivered on Monday and these videos have really helped me get even more excited for it!
Another good vid here mate! It's nice to see people be honest about things like this and not bias! 8 months into having my 2020 C200 Coupe and not a single regret. I picked every option there was and made sure not to leave a single one out. I chose the Premium Plus package, white porcelain leather seats with memory function for driver and passenger, open poor wood and aluminium trim, driving assistance package, parking package, airmatic suspension and the 19 inch run flat tyres. The car is a dream to drive!
Easy fix for the piano black trim, just get the carbon printed centre panel, will get rid of the ultra reflective shine, scratches will be subtle and it looks awesome.
My car came with Ash Wood but got a deal on a MB Carbon center console, and there’s a fair amount of companies that produce real carbon fiber center consoles.
@@aaronpoisson will MB swap them out? I’m looking at a 2020 C43 AMG and the lower cost options are the wood. I’d rather have the carbon fiber or the white carbon fiber but if I can save $10k and then spend a fraction of that to replace it, it’ll be worth it
@@hunterscrackdealer6650 I have literally the same question, stuck between the C43 and a few others (S4, S5, Ghibli SQ4 Grandsport) and was wondering about that center counsel swap

I just have to say, thank you. You deliver clear and concise information. The level of enthusiasm for a car that you have owned for 2 years is on point. No, I was going 86 in a 60mph zone and had no idea. I feel like a starship captain when driving it. I am in no rush but have decided to start pocketing away funds that were intended for the Jeep to my next Mercedes. Thanks again sir
Thanks for the comment! Made me smile reading! Congrats on your new car too! Word of warning for your wife I owned a C300 before a C43! It's the perfect stepping stone up! 😅
So funny, I have a 2017 4dr jeep wrangler,JK on 1tons and 40's. It's a BEAST tons of fun rock crawling and flying over the desert but in town and freeway driving not so much. So we bought a new 2021 C43 AMG. Came down to an AMG for sure , narrowed it down to C43 and C63. Choose the 43, loved the all around performance and size vs the 63.
Spot on with the memory seats, they are such a bonus. The car goes in for a service and bing the perfect seating position you have cherished for the last year is gone in a flash. I have seen me measuring the seat position before it goes in, and still not in the exact place tho. A great shame about the wrap on the boot spoiler, a bird has only got a poop on my paint work and its panic stations. Any way that aside, you have a lovely C43 Merc. Great vids 👍
Hi Adam, that’s why I got my C43 with the kitchen sink. And the standard black wood trim is better because carbon fibre interrupts wireless charging which was added to my fully specced vehicle. In fact only reason I didn’t get some of the options is because they weren’t compatible with other higher ones (for example AMG sports seats are not compatible with luxury seat package with memory and vented seats).
I am surprised you didn't add the burmester sound system. if I had your C43 that would me my first regret but I do agree with the others I bought used C400 and I wish it was C43 lol. but mainly I wish it wasn't white and the interior I wanted black instead of red.
It's a nice system but not the best. I had it in my C300 and was not as impressed as I had hoped. I'm more happy listening to the exhaust most days! :)
Thanks for this video! I ordered a GLC 43 a month ago, but I wish I added the surround camera view 😫.. I’m just going to have to be extra careful in tight spaces.
C43 has a lower steering ratio than typical mercedes I have driven before. I guess that's due to its 4matic system. So the 360degree cam actually helps me out a lot when I try to do a 3-point turn in tight space or when I try to squeeze myself through inside a very small carpark. Also I am very shocked to hear that the memory seat didn't come as standard as that always comes as standard in my country. For the interior piano black trim, I also agree with you as mine is also scratched accidentally. I could have taken the black wood trim as the option but I don't like it. I would like to take the carbon fibre interior trim but its pretty expensive. The only regret I have for my C43 is that I didn't option what you always emphasize - the AMG performance exhaust system. It might sound ridiculous to most people as I guess most people who buy C43, are inspired by its wild sound at first place. I also kind of regret not getting the 18inch alloy rim but the 19inch since my family sometimes complain about the stiff ride at rear seats.
Hey! Yep I was gutted when I found we no longer had the memory seats standard. For the piano black interior I'm currently working on a "5 ways to fix it" video as theres quite a few options. You do miss out on the burbles though.

@@ABAUTOAMG Yes. maybe UK Benz dealership assume that everyone has their own car and not sharing it with others. So it's not necessary to have memory seat I guess? 🤣 Great! So I guess our c43's value will appreciate in the future ? I might consider keeping it for long time as I don't want to drive an EV or hybrid yet
Hey AB another great video! I have the premium plus package and I have to admit the memory seats and the 360 camera are great! Have you decided on your next vehicle?
Thanks mate! That's great you got the premium plus I wish I'd gone for it looking back. I'm interested in the w206 C63. Even though the engine has been downsized it's going to be such a revolutionary car for AMG and it's loaded with formula one tech. I think it would be a great car for the channel too since there will be so much new content to cover. This all depends on how fun it is to drive when it arrives though of course. It won't be for a little while but il be testings lots of AMGs when the time comes and filming the whole process :)
@@ABAUTOAMG that's a great choice currently I'm leaning towards the w205 c63s as I'm not fond of the new hybrid engine. For me the exhaust sound is what makes the car
@@taj368 Sounds good! I love the V8s, I was gutted when I heard the first 4wheel drive c63 was dropping the V8. It's the 4wheel drive I need for that full season daily.
Nice video, good points, and like you said, we can still say that this is one of the best AMG ever made! That 6 cylinders are insane, the engine + exhaust are screaming :) did you see the Mercedes EQS? I’m hunting for a AMG before they start to get high millage and disappear from the market (no way I’m going electric)... The S class that went to a 4 cylinders engine will also sound like a lawnmower, Hahaha
Thanks INTENSAv it is a great car! I will admit though the top end new AMGs are loaded with very clever F1 tech so they are going to be amazing. I will really miss the big engines though. At least the V8 will still be in the very top end AMGs which is going to be a monster combined with the eq motor. It's going to be interesting to see how it all turns out.
@@ABAUTOAMG yes of course, even the old interiors took a solid age. If I get a new AMG like A45 or CLA45 I will change the exhaust. The CLA35 sounds better though, maybe they will fix the 45.
Nice commentary! My 2019 C43 is a Premium Plus cabriolet in brilliant blue with blue soft top and porcelain leather. I have the head up display, the 360 deg. camera and the memory seats, but my two regrets are the piano black trim (same reasons as you) and the absence of the driving assistance pack. My best bits: performance exhaust, head up display, LED intelligent headlights, Burmester sound, and finally - hot sunny day, roof down, sport +, and blast through a tunnel!
Your spec sounds heavenly! I'd love to experience a tunnel with the roof down. In the summer I pop all my windows down and love to listen to those pops and crackles :)
Totally agree with the HUD, have got it on my m4 and it’s amazing, but not on my facelift c43. Can’t believe you don’t have the 360 camera or memory seats though, do have them and they are essential on the car
Yeah I've always wanted a HUD :( I know the lack of memory seats as standard is shocking and the 360° camera is such a good feature. It will be a must have on my next AMG.
@@ABAUTOAMG after watching your video, I am so glad I got my E-class coupe. You are right the 360 degrees camera is wonderful but I still park my car daintily. It does not have HUD and I don’t regret that as I prefer a clear windscreen with no distraction. BTW, why didn’t you consider the E-class?
@@CalvinK300 Hey Calvin, although much more impressive interior wise the e-class was not as fun to drive as the C43 for me. The E63s would of been nice though but I could not afford it at the time 😅
@@StolenPixel I would never care for them in my old Camry, but front facing or 360 cameras would give me peace of mind when parking this expensive car in tight spots, especially in my city.
Love the quality of your videos. My final straw for upgrading from my 2010 w204 C300 to 2017 C43 was because of an expensive full car wrap that was done terribly. Did you paint your calipers from gray to what they are now?
Thanks Aaron I worked my way up from a C300 too. Sorry to hear about the wrap gone wrong, it must be such a nightmare on a full wrap :( The callipers are painted with a Candy paint called "Fools Gold". It's really nice because it's a candy paint it really pops in the sun.
Yep! Spoiler just needs to be re-done by a better wrapper :) I've researched quite a few ways to fix the piano black too. Just finishing up a script for a video "5 ways to fix your piano black interior trim" Have found some good solutions!
Finally picked up my C43 last Monday! I 100% agree with what you say about piano black trim. I think it looks great, but I can see it scratching very easily! I'm looking at either getting it wrapped in carbon fibre, or there's a trim cover I found on amazon that just sticks on. I'll let you know how I get on 👍
I have the 360° Camera, but usually I don't use the extra angles :D I also have the carbon interior trim and it looks really great. But the one with the black wood looks awesome, too. I don't have the Head Up Display, but I don't like it that much like all the people do. I drove a C43 with it and turned it off, because it was annoying :D
Ah, I think just having a front camera would be helpful for me, the other angles are a bonus. I like the black wood too but I had it only my last Mercedes so wanted something different. Do wish I had the carbon though!
Cant you install the carbon fibre trim yoursef? You can get head up display also but that would require some programming and new dashboard or cutting. Other options arent worth it it would be better to buy other car with them instead adding them.
Yep! It's not too bad of a swap. You just need to make sure you get the right panel some have a circle cutout for the clock etc. It's the most expensive option to replace the full panel. There's quite a few ways to fix and change this though I actually have a video on my channel called 5 ways to fix piano black interior trim :) The CLA45s was only available with piano black so when it arrives one of the first things I'm going to do is change it to carbon fiber.
Ah, I don't have huge experience with the GLC but I've never thought the turning circle to be bad on my Saloon. That being said I've never owned a car with a good turning circle!
@@ABAUTOAMG the saloons have that texh where the back wheels turn and it is actually awesome. I have it on my c class and it was just cool. You could do a U turn in like 2 lanes
Ah yes! The wheels look amazing but can be a nightmare to clean. I've been slowly perfecting the besy way to tackle them and have almost nailed it! Soon il be able to create a good how to video :)
Learn how to touch up stone chips and you will never worry again. Every 6 months to a year get your car cleaned and clay barred around damage area. Pot of paint and a toothpick small bits at a time then hit it with a heavy compound and you're sorted. I would rather get ppf done to windscreen than paint as glass pitting/scratches are the real nuisance
Sorry do you mean without the key? In some country's you can remote start with the Mercedes ME app but in the UK it's not available due to some silly laws.
There's 3 sound systems in the facelift version of the C class. The standard, Midline and the Burmester. I'm quite happy with the Mercedes midline system, It's honestly not much different to the Burmester was in my previous C class (the c300) so for me the Burmester was not worth it.
Thanks for the video - agree on your points. I recently sold my c43 68 plate. It was a premium plus model so came fully equipped. So here are some of my thoughts - in no particular order: 1. Do not buy one without the performance exhaust. 2. Piano black interior is a little plastic looking & feeling. 3. It was a little twitchy on the road and not particularly comfortable on poor road surfaces. 4. I had the dark blue colour which did not stand out in the crowd. 5. Putting the power down sometimes made the car jump along like a bucking bronco - a known issue apparently. - Does anyone know if this is the same on the 2020 MY (390 bhp) ? 6. Good MPG when taking easy on motorways (40+ MPG) 7. Some poor quality switches and not user friendly - too much use of multi function switches. Would prefer separate switches for air to feet, windscreen, face etc. 8. The brake assist really p me off. When following a car which then turned left, the c43 would break despite the car in front having already turned left. 9. Run flat tyres (enough said!).
Hi Ian, Thank you for sharing those are some really good valid ones. Luckily they did fix the gear box kangaroos which were a nightmare on the prefacelift. What car did you get after your C43 out of intererest?
@@ABAUTOAMG Due to lockdowns etc I've not had a need for a car but I've now been looking for a few weeks. Maybe a c43 again or perhaps M2, M3, M4 or 340i. All seem to have their own strengths and weaknesses. Edit: having seen your video maybe the cla 45s :)
I’m new to the Mercedes. I do have have a 2015 C class automatic. How do I correctly park the car. I noticed that when I stop and turnoff the engine the car itself automatically engage the handbrake and the gear shift in to P. Is this correct ? OR do I need to use the old technique i.e stop the car, brake, put into N, hand brake , brake again and put into P?
Hey Prajee, If the car has the electronic handbrake (a 2015 C should) all you need to do is put the car in park and turn the car off. Hope this helps. Enjoy your new car! :)
@@ABAUTOAMG thanks for the reply and really appreciated . Just want to clarify , when say ‘put in to park’ you mean by I have to select the gear ‘P’ and then shut off the engine OR all I have to do when I stop the car and turnoff the engine and the car automatically shit in to P gear and then the electric hand brake automatically engage and I don’t have to do nothing.
No problem! I always put mine into park first then turn off the engine. If you want to test open the door first and you should be able to hear the electronic parking brake come on too.
We don't have a night package on the C43 in the UK. We get the black window trim etc as standard. I had the burneister on my previous car (2017 C300) and I was not very impressed by it if I'm honest. On my C43 I have the mercedes midline system which sits between the standard and the burmiester. I dident really notice a huge difference coming from the burmiester.
@@ABAUTOAMG WOw, didn´t know the Night Package doesn´t exist in the UK - very interesting (and very sad). The blacked out parts make the car look so much better in my opinion. I also agree that the Burmeister isn´t that great, doesn´t stand a chance vs Bang & Olufsen etc. but the standard Audio system is just crap. I had it in my previous CLA and was so disappointed ..
@@ABAUTOAMG I've got the Night Package on my 2019 Facelift C43 (20 plate) here in the UK. It might be because its a Coupé or due to the grey colour but everything that would have been chrome or silver (except the double fin grille) is black instead. The front diffuser, exhaust tips, window frames, mirrors, etc. I managed to get the dealer to throw in pretty much all the optional extras on my car when I ordered it and it ended up costing the same as a standard Premium Plus configuration and also has the nice black wood centre console that doesnt show smudges or scratches at all. I got everything except the bucket seats which I didnt want anyway. The HUD is a really nice addition and I do find that I miss it when driving other cars now, just having the info right in front of your eyeline is so convenient. The only thing I don't really like personally... the software is quite slow compared to newer cars like the GLA and E-Class even though the newer techology already existed when the face lift was refreshed.
These were the golden days when you went to buy a new car and they had prebuilt cars to choose from that you could have brand new in under a week unlike now when you have to wait almost a year from order. The downside to this was that you could not spec 100% what you wanted. Better than waiting a year though! Did a factory build on my CLA45s which I added all the options I wanted which was nice but it was a long wait. They are expensive though so sometimes like you say it does come down to cost too.

My C43? Regrets, I've had a few, but then again too few to mention....!
Frank Sinatra would totally have had a regrets video if he was alive in the TH-cam age.
I have a s63 Amg 2019 with all extras it’s insane I got it in 2020 September and no problems with it
Damn u must be rich🤣🤣
Great car! Don't think il ever afford one of those!
The E63s would of been nice though but I could not afford it at the time 😅
I am getting one has everything you have mentioned but the headup display. Quite unfortunate this is a storage car I cannot add it.
100% regret not getting a car with 360 cameras or 360 parking sensors. My dad’s 2012 FX35 had them, and they were amazing.
Learn to drive and you wont need them
@@StolenPixel I would never care for them in my old Camry, but front facing or 360 cameras would give me peace of mind when parking this expensive car in tight spots, especially in my city.
@@mindwipe0074 doesnt make sense. would never park a c43 amg in tight city parking on the street lol
Most surprised, as most of these come standard on the Australian C43’s
It's amazing how different the options and standard specs are for these cars across the world. We are quite limited in the UK on some models.
You can always Wrap the piano black and change the spoiler
I'll let you know how I get on 👍
Thanks Dave let us know how it goes! I have a video in the works called "5 ways to fix your piano trim" also! :)
@@ABAUTOAMG Nice! Looking forward to it dude!
How did it go?
I have the 360° Camera, but usually I don't use the extra angles :D I also have the carbon interior trim and it looks really great. But the one with the black wood looks awesome, too. I don't have the Head Up Display, but I don't like it that much like all the people do. I drove a C43 with it and turned it off, because it was annoying :D
Ah, I think just having a front camera would be helpful for me, the other angles are a bonus. I like the black wood too but I had it only my last Mercedes so wanted something different. Do wish I had the carbon though!
Yeah 🧜🏻♂️🤘🏻
Number 6 is the turning circle but that is on glc 43
Ah, I don't have huge experience with the GLC but I've never thought the turning circle to be bad on my Saloon. That being said I've never owned a car with a good turning circle!
@@ABAUTOAMG the saloons have that texh where the back wheels turn and it is actually awesome. I have it on my c class and it was just cool. You could do a U turn in like 2 lanes
Do you get a lot of brake dust? The multi spoke design make it 100 times more difficult to clean the inside of the wheels and brake discs..
Ah yes! The wheels look amazing but can be a nightmare to clean. I've been slowly perfecting the besy way to tackle them and have almost nailed it! Soon il be able to create a good how to video :)
Wait.,,. Does the c43 have fake exhaust??
Yep i think every AMG from 2016 onwards technically has fake exhausts tips. For the C63 they used the square tips and the C43 the round.
Do you have PPF on your car? If not then would you regret not getting it? Getting a CLA35 very soon and I'm still 50/50 whether or not to get PPF
I wish I had PPF'd my front bumper since i've picked up a few nasty stone chips. I think its really worth doing if your picking the car up from new.
What year is this C43 amg??
This is 2019 (picked it up from new in December 2018 right before the new year) I actually have a video on my channel of the collection.
Thanks.. Do u know how to start the engine with the key?
Sorry do you mean without the key? In some country's you can remote start with the Mercedes ME app but in the UK it's not available due to some silly laws.
Hey I have a question about the gauge cluster. The one I’m looking to buy c43 but the gauge cluster has 160 mph but I seen some with 180 mph
after stage 2 and limit removed u can reachabout 170-180
What about the sound system?
There's 3 sound systems in the facelift version of the C class. The standard, Midline and the Burmester. I'm quite happy with the Mercedes midline system, It's honestly not much different to the Burmester was in my previous C class (the c300) so for me the Burmester was not worth it.
Regret 6: no pan roof
Regret 7: if you can afford a v6, you can afford a v8
Thanks for the video - agree on your points.
I recently sold my c43 68 plate. It was a premium plus model so came fully equipped.
So here are some of my thoughts - in no particular order:
6. Good MPG when taking easy on motorways (40+ MPG)
My dad got them all expect the heads up
What % your windows tinted
These are the stock factory windows (privacy glass optional extra) so they will be within the legal limits. Sorry I’m not sure on the % Mercedes use.
@@ABAUTOAMG Oh, Thanks tho I think it's perfect %. Looks so nice
lol. do i have any regrets?
yeah 5 apparently according to the name of the vieo :P
Hi buddy your centre console buy some car rap and do it your self it’s not that hard to do pal🙂👍😊
No. 6: No Burmeister
No. 7: No Night Package
?
We don't have a night package on the C43 in the UK. We get the black window trim etc as standard. I had the burneister on my previous car (2017 C300) and I was not very impressed by it if I'm honest. On my C43 I have the mercedes midline system which sits between the standard and the burmiester. I dident really notice a huge difference coming from the burmiester.
@@ABAUTOAMG agree on the Burmeister, it aint that great i am actually swapping it it out soon
The only thing I don't really like personally... the software is quite slow compared to newer cars like the GLA and E-Class even though the newer techology already existed when the face lift was refreshed.
sounds like you cheaped out on your car, bud. shame you got the cheapest package
You regret not getting a c63s 🤣
🤣 C63s is a great car but I wouldn't want to daily one in this country with all our rain. My favouite part about the C43 is the constant all weather traction. It's so fun to never have to hold back :)
Do you live with your mother?
I'm 34 mate, I own a house, have a wife and a daughter 🤣
