1960s Buddy L Ladder Fire Truck Restoration

- My Aunt and Uncle picked up this 1960s Buddy L Ladder Fire Truck in July of 2020 for me from a flea market. It's my worst condition truck yet missing an axle and two wheels, the ladders, the front brush guard, the signal emergency light. The rear of the truck body was crushed as well as the front of the semi body. The ladder was extremely mangled and everything was rusty. This toy was begging for attention and to be restored to new quality. Thank you for watching!

One of the things I enjoy most about watching your restorations...you actually show yourself straightening out the toys you work on....many other channels just seem to cut that part of the restoration out.

One of the outstanding qualities of your channel is that thee videos shiw restorations of items that are genuinely aged and damaged. There some “restoration” channels where the items are artificially damaged.

ya know there are a lot of you guys on youtube that restore toys like these, but not everyone does it the proper way and therefore they don't end up looking as god as they could.Over the last few days in my feed some of them came up and I watched them. The problem is they don't all look good. I mean they take short cuts and in turn the toys will look good from 25 feet away but not up close...Long story short, You SLAY the other ones i have seen by huge margins my friend! I watch my grandson during the week and watching you is something we both love to do together. Now we are going to watch the Willy's Toe Jeep. Keep on Killing it friend!!

I have always been (55 years) a Die cast/plastics man myself. This has got me headed in a new direction. Excellent work ! The proper tools do help, but you must know how to use them for this kind of result.

Very nice. I really expected the Buddy L fire trucks to be more elaborate. As a kid I never had the larger stamped trucks like this. Where most kids were playing with these I was on a farm and started running the 1/1 counterparts at around 9 years old.

Given your total materials cost and what I expect would be your labour and shop costs I gather this would have a value of over 1200 dollars but in the end it is far more valuable in its current condition just to have saved it. It is beautiful to look at and enjoy the fact that there is one left of this model in pristine condition. Well done, beautiful workmanship. Thank you for the video.

Me and my brother use to play for hours with our toy trucks, back in the 50s, and 60s they were our favorite toys. Wish I could get these kind of toys for my Grandchildren, but all they have now days is plastic junk.

It’s funny how cats are that way, my cat looks like an older version of Beaker, his name is Willys (pronunciation is WILLIS...just like how you actually say the name of the Jeep Willys...), since I restore old Jeeps from time to time, he likes to “inspect” them as well...so, I totally get it 😌
