Money Baggs I was criticising it based on how lacklustre it was in parts as a video game sequel. In the end I still liked the game but it didn't take me by surprise. It felt like I was ultimately playing the exact same game. That being said I talked about plenty of its strong points too and I still think the game is good. It just fell short of being great.

To me, he comes across as WAY too critical of Injustice 2. He is criticising things that cannot be helped. Its a fighting game. And fighting games are limited in most regards. You can't hate on something that is in a game, that HAS to be in the game.

First of every new game needs a story mode brother so don't even bring that they made a new story mode. I and so many players prefer the skin system over the stupid gear system. The graphics are obviously going to improving as seeing there is a 4 year time gap between them. New character sure but they didn't leave the originals just replaced them with other characters. So before you call a review bs you should use your common sense
Zero The God Slayer Well, the story had to follow and it would be boring af if they had the comic stories in the game, having Brainiac set the point to have a perspective at both sides of the spectrum. The Gear System May not be so likeable but it extended a shit ton of time the playability of the game, p/ex. Right now they could promote new gear sets and more multiverse events and then they could keep up until MK11 comes out. And of course they wouldn’t leave all the original characters, they needed a big roster in the first one and it worked but now the game had to include characters more popular and requested in the first one so I don’t mind a clean up
Kalian Mascotto that’s a downside to Injustice 2. A gear system is stupid because then people will just get beaten by whoever has more and better gear then their opponent. That’s why Mortal Kombat is so much better.
Still playing now due to the gear system, yeah sure, it can be improved, but the whole game is leaps and bounds better than IJ1, once I finished the story on the first and played I few matches I was done, yet I always find myself drawn back to IJ2

Cozbinot I was a a actually aware of this inconsistency in the last game and it didn't really bother me. So of all things to change I'm surprised they changed THAT. As it was one of the most fun things to strategize during the first games story.
They got rid of them because in injustice 1 you would go to a different area but when the fight is finished you’re in another but they are not fully gone they just not in the story
Yes, especially since the multiverse is just towers with different effects depending on the events and the gear system is a grindy slog that takes a long time to even get a gear that you like.
Damian was making comments on batman before they fought, I don't agree with your argument about the Damian turning evil thing. That and In the comics Damian killed Dick, so there is tension between Damian and batman, you can see that from there interactions. Also you can break combos, you can meter burn and jump mid combo to cancel there combo for two bars. Another thing I disagree with is your argument about about the movement, in injustice 1 the characters all moved like snails and spammed there basic attacks, in injustice 2 they made the combos more complex and easier for beginners, injustice 1 combos felt like you were wrestling with the controls. In injustice 2 you get to experience the excitement of combos even if your a beginner. Also saying the combat is identical isn't very true in my opinion, injustice 1 felt sloppy and slow, it felt like you were stuck everywhere.

Might have to do with how generic the gear is, like seriously over half the gear is essentially the same gear with slight differences and colors. It's why I got bored of it and enjoy the first one more, since it has unique costumes, like the Arkham City and Teen Titans costumes.

The gear system is retarded and meant for pay to win players and losers who spend hours trying to make their character look cool. skins with bonuses are so much more manageable and easier

I have just started to get back into injustice and it is rewarding to finish a hard multiverse event and get a diamond mother box, the best thing about the injustice are the characters and story, way better than injustice 2.
+Eric Carter There actually is a ladder mode in Injustice 2. In the Multiverse, you just need to go to the earth that says Battle Simulator and you can play the ladder. Also, there is a Ultimate Edition but I believe you needed to pre-order to get it. I don't know if they are still selling the Ultimate Edition but you can get the Ultimate Pack which includes everything in the Ultimate Edition.
King Kong From Nintendo If you bought the Ultimate Edition and you put the code in, everytime a dlc character comes out, you can just install them which means you will have access to all 9 dlc characters. Although, you still have a point because in MKX, they released Kombat Pack 2 which was never planned to be released in the first place and it was never included in the season pass so they might do the same to Injustice 2.
You are aware that he mentioned that, saying the replaced the ladder mode with multiverse mode, which is a copy of MKX's tower mode. Furthermore, people like Eric don't find redundant ladders that are only different based on added effects to be all that interesting.
Well it doesn't help Injustice 2 was a copy of injustice and the main difference is the multiverse as well as the gear system. Multiverse is just towers with random effects and the gear system is a grindy mess that is tedious to use.
I like injustice 2 a lot more than the first one imo. The story for the first just seemed kinda done to death so having the second take place entirely in the injustice universe just felt more fresh to me. Also the gear system and the multiverse is what really kept me coming back everyday (the ladders in the first kinda got boring after a while), but honestly the main thing that got me is the updated roster in the second. The first had a pretty sizable amount of characters from the Batman franchise (and some of them hardly appeared in the story) and while the second does still have quite a few batman characters, there's also characters like Gorilla Grodd and Firestorm and Swamp thing that just adds a lot more variety for me.
Oh sure, Injustice 1's stages were tooootally unique. Arkham Asylum and Joker's Asylum totally weren't exactly the same xD Also, how the heck does Injustice 1 have better replay value? The arcade ladder mode was fine, but the Multiverse offers you new ladders every couple hours with rewards. Both games are lacking in the gameplay modes department though. I wish we could've gotten some sort of tag team mode where you could pick a team of 2 or 3 and switch between the fighters.
Agreed. By the way the ladder mode is more traditional and straight forward in the first game which is why I prefer it. Yes tag team would have been a great addition. But that's one of my main problems with Injustice 2 as a sequel. It felt more like a basic sequel rather than the Assassin's Creed 2 or Batman Arkham City of sequels. +Eric Carter Nice comparison! I really liked it! There is one thing though that you might not be aware of. Around 9:58, you say that you can't do the stage transitions in the story. That is because they removed the ability to do stage transitions when you play the story. They removed this because in Injustice 1's story, when you do a stage transition, the next cutscene will take place in the stage that you were in when the fight first started instead of taking place in the other area of the stage that you were in when you did the transition. A lot of players thought this was weird so Netherrealm took note of it and removed the ability to do stage transitions during the story. Sorry for the long comment!

I personally enjoyed the injustice 1 story and moveset for the characters more intriguing. I was kinda hoping the 2nd one would have most of the same moves but have a bunch of new ones as well (so more moves altogether)
I don’t understand your argument about having to “sit there” and take a combo from the enemy.... that’s how combos work lol. And you can clash and air escape...
So Cool REACTION Don't twist my words! I said I wanted an extension on the moves. And of course I want more than one super. That is a criticism that everyone had with the first game as re-watching the same move over and over again gets monotonous very fast.
Eric Carter i understand but making more then one super move for every character seems like to much for me. Of course if they did that would be great but the would probably use a lot of money on it when they could use it on other things like character, move, or gear

So Cool REACTION The gear system is something that did not interest me much. It is definitely an intriguing part of the game but I couldn't get engrossed to unlocking the gears and using them. But that's just me. They are a decent addition but I thought the execution could have been better.

The stage transitions are disabled in the injustice 2 story mode which was probably done to keep continuity (in the first one you could stage transition in the story mode but if you won on that stage you'd magically teleport to area you started the fight in)
I agree and i liked that they disabled it. Take wonder womens fight against raven. The cutscene before it had ares show wonder woman that the amazons were preparing at the docs. So during the fight i trigger transition to the docs with no army of amazons there only to finish the fight and have wonder woman go from the temple to the docks to see alot of amazons there preparing. Kinda funny and disabling stage transitions would have helped with that alot
I respect your opinion, but the whole point of injustice is to learn characters and to spend time learning, which is why the characters are harder to play in Injustice 2. And Injustice 2 has the gear system which is cool and gives you the chance to use your imagination to make every Flash (for example) from Earth X to Red Death. And there is a way to stop people doing combos on you by air escaping and clashing. Anyway i do agree with the fact that the story of the 1st is better, but an 8.2 is completely blown out of proportion. And a 6 for injustice 2? That's crazy. Anyway, next time you compare two games, make sure you look more into the game itself and not inconsistant face expressions.
As far as the roster and leveling up the characters the second one gets the edge. The first one was nice having the Star labs missions and having skins for the characters where it lacked in the second game. Gear system is nice but should either get rid of it in the next game or have both be options so everyone can enjoy the game however they want to. I enjoy both games hopefully some of the characters from the first game can be brought back to the 3rd one but also I hope the Story can be different too something fresh.

This comment section is funny, since it's either over explaining the stage transition issue like he needs 50+ people to reiterate the fact the developers took a cheap route to avoid discrepancies, Injustice 2 fanboys claiming he's bashing the game cause he doesn't praise it like the second coming of Jesus, and or I agree but you should've talked about more points. I mean the bashing point is just stupid, since having a different opinion on something does not mean you're bashing it, but that you see it differently. Furthermore, how is he supposed to talk more about Injustice 2, when it's just a more colorful version of the first game, with more generic backgrounds, a grinding mess for the gear system that takes weeks to even get a good piece of gear, and has an even more generic storyline of an alien invasion that the heroes must stop?
Injustice 2 was better hands down. The arcade mode in the first one was fun and all but it was the same exact fights every single time. Injustice 2 has events where u do unique ladders and they keep adding events and it feels fresh and more playable. When I had injustice 1 I beat the story in 1 day and spent a week replaying the arcade mode and got bored of it. Injustice 2 I beat the story in 1 day and ive been doing multiverse for a good while and I'm showing no signs of being bored of it. It feels more playable then the first one.
As far as the stage transitions go in Injustice 2, they took them out in the story mode so that cutscenes afterwords made sense. If you start a fight in front of the theatre and end it in the steam room area, the cutscene wouldn't make sense being back at the theatre.
The ladder mode is still in the game, a bit hidden, but there, in single player multiverse it's on the far right, now called battle simulator, however they did in my eyes mess it up by making braniac the last boss every time and to top that off, giving him straight up cheats that allow him to do a single combo for 800+ damage in the span of about 20 seconds. The rest of the AI and game feels fine to me though.
William Isaacson some characters were bonus characters, injustice one did the same, they had Martian manhunter who Superman killed before the first game took place, they had lobo, Zod, Zatanna, Batgirl, Nightwing is sort of one because you can’t play as him in the story and because if you use the original skin you’re using dick Grayson and he’s dead so..
The arcade mode for Injustice 2 is in the multiverse. Unfortunately, it's kinda hard to find but gear hunting and multiverse challenges give the game a great deal more replayability to me.
I like how he said he preferred the ladder mode than the multiverse but it also has the multiverse but also he said it’s harder to pull of stage interactions but it shows you when you can pull it off :P
Even though multiverse is just generic towers with random effects and goals based on events, while the stage interactions were turned off in story mode as well as nearly impossible to do in online mode, because of how easy it is to be stun locked?
One thing I think Injustice 1 does better than Injustice 2 are the clashes. In the first game they both do a line of dialogue and then run and scream at each other and then an explosion happens. Meanwhile in the second game they run, then do a line of dialogue. The first one just has a little bit more energy to it.
i looked through the comments and saw that people brought up some points I was going to bring up already about Stage Transitions during story mode, and the classic ladder vs multiverse mode. I just think that I2 has way longer replay value then the first. I played both games, and loved both. with the multiverse and gear. This Video is well done but I think you should have talked about more of the new mechanics they added. The Roll(to combat annoying zoners) The Air Roll(To get out of juggle combos) and the walking speed which is way better in the second game. The point you brought up about how similar the game is, is a fair point, but i think it makes it easier to transition from game, and pick up where you started. I also think you should have touched on the roster differences a bit, but other wise, i enjoyed this video, and respect your opinion!
That is understanding, but not to mention that for Injustice 2 and they have gear sets and guide, and having DLC characters includes guest characters, they basically made one of the best games of the year
I agree, I personally prefer the first one for your reasons and the 2nd one made me rush getting characters to level 20 the easy way just so I can play them and I wasn't motivated to really try to finish a multiverse cause my score got lowered which means worse mother boxes and I've been grinding since day 1 for the staff of Grayson and haven't gotten even through I already have the full gear set. I just like the first game more but the second game improved in a lot areas and deserves more credit. The biggest change for me was the gear system cause they nailed it first try and most games can't after multiple games.

I have to agree I had more fun with injustice 1 but injustice 2 I really didn't know why but injustice 2 feels to me rushed, EDIT: After I replayed both games I like both games equal but I do prefer the story of the first but gameplay is the second game so to make it clear I like both injustice game.
Eric Carter the reason why they didn’t put the stage transitions in ‘’Injustice 2’’ in the story mode is because it would look confusing if we were fighting in a stage and in the next cutscene they are in the stage where we just started.
What i got from this review is that you spent a lot of time playing the first injustice, but little time playing the second injustice. After playing both games I have determined that injustice 2 is far better than the first.

Gear does mot contribute to replay value. Smh. The limited skins and dlcs in the first game were just so much easier to deal with

Might have to do with how generic the gear is, like seriously over half the gear is essentially the same gear with slight differences and colors. It's why I got bored of it and enjoy the first one more, since it has unique costumes, like the Arkham City and Teen Titans costumes.
Injustice 2 is literally superior in every single way.

You're right, I should have mentioned it. The reason I didn't is because the Gear System did not interested me despite how much I tried to get into it. Because of that I didn't make mention of it in the video. Looking back, I should have made mention to it.

The gear system is retarded and meant for pay to win players and losers who spend hours trying to make their character look cool. skins with bonuses are so much more manageable and easier

I have just started to get back into injustice and it is rewarding to finish a hard multiverse event and get a diamond mother box, the best thing about the injustice are the characters and story, way better than injustice 2.
+Eric Carter There actually is a ladder mode in Injustice 2. In the Multiverse, you just need to go to the earth that says Battle Simulator and you can play the ladder.
Also, there is a Ultimate Edition but I believe you needed to pre-order to get it. I don't know if they are still selling the Ultimate Edition but you can get the Ultimate Pack which includes everything in the Ultimate Edition.
Yogi Nath The Ultimate edition is out, but not all the dlc is out yet.
King Kong From Nintendo If you bought the Ultimate Edition and you put the code in, everytime a dlc character comes out, you can just install them which means you will have access to all 9 dlc characters. Although, you still have a point because in MKX, they released Kombat Pack 2 which was never planned to be released in the first place and it was never included in the season pass so they might do the same to Injustice 2.
You are aware that he mentioned that, saying the replaced the ladder mode with multiverse mode, which is a copy of MKX's tower mode. Furthermore, people like Eric don't find redundant ladders that are only different based on added effects to be all that interesting.

Well it doesn't help Injustice 2 was a copy of injustice and the main difference is the multiverse as well as the gear system. Multiverse is just towers with random effects and the gear system is a grindy mess that is tedious to use.

I like injustice 2 a lot more than the first one imo. The story for the first just seemed kinda done to death so having the second take place entirely in the injustice universe just felt more fresh to me. Also the gear system and the multiverse is what really kept me coming back everyday (the ladders in the first kinda got boring after a while), but honestly the main thing that got me is the updated roster in the second. The first had a pretty sizable amount of characters from the Batman franchise (and some of them hardly appeared in the story) and while the second does still have quite a few batman characters, there's also characters like Gorilla Grodd and Firestorm and Swamp thing that just adds a lot more variety for me.

Oh sure, Injustice 1's stages were tooootally unique. Arkham Asylum and Joker's Asylum totally weren't exactly the same xD Also, how the heck does Injustice 1 have better replay value? The arcade ladder mode was fine, but the Multiverse offers you new ladders every couple hours with rewards. Both games are lacking in the gameplay modes department though. I wish we could've gotten some sort of tag team mode where you could pick a team of 2 or 3 and switch between the fighters.
Agreed. By the way the ladder mode is more traditional and straight forward in the first game which is why I prefer it.
Yes tag team would have been a great addition. But that's one of my main problems with Injustice 2 as a sequel. It felt more like a basic sequel rather than the Assassin's Creed 2 or Batman Arkham City of sequels.

+Eric Carter Nice comparison! I really liked it! There is one thing though that you might not be aware of. Around 9:58, you say that you can't do the stage transitions in the story. That is because they removed the ability to do stage transitions when you play the story. They removed this because in Injustice 1's story, when you do a stage transition, the next cutscene will take place in the stage that you were in when the fight first started instead of taking place in the other area of the stage that you were in when you did the transition. A lot of players thought this was weird so Netherrealm took note of it and removed the ability to do stage transitions during the story. Sorry for the long comment!

I personally enjoyed the injustice 1 story and moveset for the characters more intriguing. I was kinda hoping the 2nd one would have most of the same moves but have a bunch of new ones as well (so more moves altogether)

So Cool REACTION Don't twist my words! I said I wanted an extension on the moves. And of course I want more than one super. That is a criticism that everyone had with the first game as re-watching the same move over and over again gets monotonous very fast.

So Cool REACTION The gear system is something that did not interest me much. It is definitely an intriguing part of the game but I couldn't get engrossed to unlocking the gears and using them. But that's just me. They are a decent addition but I thought the execution could have been better.

The stage transitions are disabled in the injustice 2 story mode which was probably done to keep continuity (in the first one you could stage transition in the story mode but if you won on that stage you'd magically teleport to area you started the fight in)
I agree and i liked that they disabled it. Take wonder womens fight against raven. The cutscene before it had ares show wonder woman that the amazons were preparing at the docs. So during the fight i trigger transition to the docs with no army of amazons there only to finish the fight and have wonder woman go from the temple to the docks to see alot of amazons there preparing. Kinda funny and disabling stage transitions would have helped with that alot

I respect your opinion, but the whole point of injustice is to learn characters and to spend time learning, which is why the characters are harder to play in Injustice 2. And Injustice 2 has the gear system which is cool and gives you the chance to use your imagination to make every Flash (for example) from Earth X to Red Death. And there is a way to stop people doing combos on you by air escaping and clashing. Anyway i do agree with the fact that the story of the 1st is better, but an 8.2 is completely blown out of proportion. And a 6 for injustice 2? That's crazy. Anyway, next time you compare two games, make sure you look more into the game itself and not inconsistant face expressions.

As far as the roster and leveling up the characters the second one gets the edge. The first one was nice having the Star labs missions and having skins for the characters where it lacked in the second game. Gear system is nice but should either get rid of it in the next game or have both be options so everyone can enjoy the game however they want to. I enjoy both games hopefully some of the characters from the first game can be brought back to the 3rd one but also I hope the Story can be different too something fresh.

In story mode you can't do transitions mainly because you need to stay in that stage to progress the story.

This comment section is funny, since it's either over explaining the stage transition issue like he needs 50+ people to reiterate the fact the developers took a cheap route to avoid discrepancies, Injustice 2 fanboys claiming he's bashing the game cause he doesn't praise it like the second coming of Jesus, and or I agree but you should've talked about more points. I mean the bashing point is just stupid, since having a different opinion on something does not mean you're bashing it, but that you see it differently. Furthermore, how is he supposed to talk more about Injustice 2, when it's just a more colorful version of the first game, with more generic backgrounds, a grinding mess for the gear system that takes weeks to even get a good piece of gear, and has an even more generic storyline of an alien invasion that the heroes must stop?
Injustice 2 was better hands down. The arcade mode in the first one was fun and all but it was the same exact fights every single time. Injustice 2 has events where u do unique ladders and they keep adding events and it feels fresh and more playable. When I had injustice 1 I beat the story in 1 day and spent a week replaying the arcade mode and got bored of it. Injustice 2 I beat the story in 1 day and ive been doing multiverse for a good while and I'm showing no signs of being bored of it. It feels more playable then the first one.
As far as the stage transitions go in Injustice 2, they took them out in the story mode so that cutscenes afterwords made sense. If you start a fight in front of the theatre and end it in the steam room area, the cutscene wouldn't make sense being back at the theatre.
Did you fucking play the whole game? You forgot too mension the gear system, the battle simulator, and that the gameplay is more fast paced.
The ladder mode is still in the game, a bit hidden, but there, in single player multiverse it's on the far right, now called battle simulator, however they did in my eyes mess it up by making braniac the last boss every time and to top that off, giving him straight up cheats that allow him to do a single combo for 800+ damage in the span of about 20 seconds. The rest of the AI and game feels fine to me though.

Even though multiverse is just generic towers with random effects and goals based on events, while the stage interactions were turned off in story mode as well as nearly impossible to do in online mode, because of how easy it is to be stun locked?

One thing I think Injustice 1 does better than Injustice 2 are the clashes. In the first game they both do a line of dialogue and then run and scream at each other and then an explosion happens. Meanwhile in the second game they run, then do a line of dialogue. The first one just has a little bit more energy to it.

i looked through the comments and saw that people brought up some points I was going to bring up already about Stage Transitions during story mode, and the classic ladder vs multiverse mode. I just think that I2 has way longer replay value then the first. I played both games, and loved both. with the multiverse and gear. This Video is well done but I think you should have talked about more of the new mechanics they added. The Roll(to combat annoying zoners) The Air Roll(To get out of juggle combos) and the walking speed which is way better in the second game. The point you brought up about how similar the game is, is a fair point, but i think it makes it easier to transition from game, and pick up where you started. I also think you should have touched on the roster differences a bit, but other wise, i enjoyed this video, and respect your opinion!

That is understanding, but not to mention that for Injustice 2 and they have gear sets and guide, and having DLC characters includes guest characters, they basically made one of the best games of the year
I definitely got more enjoyment and playtime for the first one but I wasn’t disappointed by the second.

6.5/10!!?? That’s one of the worst game ratings I’ve ever seen. Injustice 2 is incredible. Still playing it today.
I agree, I personally prefer the first one for your reasons and the 2nd one made me rush getting characters to level 20 the easy way just so I can play them and I wasn't motivated to really try to finish a multiverse cause my score got lowered which means worse mother boxes and I've been grinding since day 1 for the staff of Grayson and haven't gotten even through I already have the full gear set. I just like the first game more but the second game improved in a lot areas and deserves more credit. The biggest change for me was the gear system cause they nailed it first try and most games can't after multiple games.
It nailed the gear system first try huh? Then why did you talk about the glaring problems about how difficult it is to get specific gear pieces? The gear system was not done well, especially with how often you'll get generic gear or copies of the same gear.

Eric Carter the reason why they didn’t put the stage transitions in ‘’Injustice 2’’ in the story mode is because it would look confusing if we were fighting in a stage and in the next cutscene they are in the stage where we just started.
Yet they could've just had the characters drag the opponent to the appropriate stage, but decided to use a lazy shortcut.
What i got from this review is that you spent a lot of time playing the first injustice, but little time playing the second injustice. After playing both games I have determined that injustice 2 is far better than the first.
the difference between the animation in injustice vs injustice 2 is mental. They really stepped up their game.
