I started a construction job last May and bought my first expensive (to me) pair of work boots. I didn't want to trash them so I bought a boot care kit and clean and condition them around the first of every month. I've learned a lot and have really grown to love cleaning my boots. I can understand why a blowtorch mini or otherwise would be too powerful but you should get one of those flexible barbecue lighters that’s refillable for the part where you light it around the boots. I think you’re burning off loose threads idk, maybe it’s sealing the shine wax.
I just fished out a metal splinter from my back while listening to this and I’m pretty sure there is still a piece inside because I can feel a bump but it’s in such a hard to reach spot :/
How many shoe cleanings before a hole gets worn into the leather from the scraping? Just curious, cause it seems like a good bit of leather gets scraped off.
Does the scraping the old polish and stuff off really make that much of a difference? Would be interested to see him not do it, shine it, then scrape everything off, re-shine it and compare

I had boots that ended up looking like those first boots pre-Angelo. Cement dust is not kind to leather. Angelo is truly a master at his craft.
