    It's awesome to see an EV that uses actual buttons instead of a giant screen. I've been shopping for an EV and too many of them put everything into touch screens which I hate in a car.

    • @meikgeik
      @meikgeik ปีที่แล้ว

      YES. Fuck touch screen controls. People are distracted enough in their cars. I'm so tired of seeing people pass me while staring at their touch screen and booping stuff.

    That "weeeee" sound is for pedestrian protection. It is believed that when it is within/lower than a certain speed that it could be driving in residential roads hence the feature.

    2023 Kona Electrics come with a heat-pump as standard, which wasn't available in previous model-years in the US. Makes a significant difference in winter efficiency. Hyundai really needs to figure out how to integrate an EV route planner, though.

      I got a 2018 in December. It has less than 7k miles on it and has been back twice for dropping to limp mode from a knock sensor code. That's once before they changed the sensor and once after. The car can't handle rpm load when passing or merging onto the highway. Both times the car dropped to 40mph almost immediately, almost causing pileups. DO NOT BUY A THETA II EQUIPED HYUNDAI OR KIA.

    Love the Hyundai evs except for one big problem missed by reviewers. The lack of system integration which makes updating vehicles system very difficult, even at dealers. Note problems with adding battery conditioning to Ionia 5. This will make the car age very quickly and result in significant depreciation. Hyundai Kia hope to have fully integrated car systems by 2025 or 2026
    Thus the reason I went for model 3 which gets continuous OTA software and firmware updates. Manufacturers other than Tesla which claim OAT updates are really limited to nav and entertainment system only.
    Reviews have to start looking at the tech when evaluating evs.

    Biggest Negative: Only the slower end of the Level 2 charging tiers for this class at 9 hours 15 minutes from zero to full, but Biggest Positive over it's direct competitirs for the money is
    the multi link rear suspension, which you don't ever find in the Nissan Leafs or Chevy Bolts, but the VW ID 4, is over 5K more money,
    and your well under 10K below your Tesla. Only the KIA NIro matches in both a front and rear suspension quality

    My wife and I just bought a new 2023 Kona EV late last year. After having no heat for the entire winter and the dealership not knowing, or unable to fix it, the dealerships remedy was to sell us the exact same car (make, model and color) about a month or two ago. So we bought the Kona EV AGAIN and guess what??? There is NO HEAT in the new car either. The Service Manager left the premises after we brought in the second car with the exact same problem. Neither Corporate or the dealership is owning up to this....there is no solution yet. Two cars, both no heat. Does Hyundai have any quality controls?
