    I have two pairs of Trickers Stow boots, one brown (about 20 years old), one black. Both have “golf” soles, the brown ones were originally a leather sole, but the last time I got them re-soled I got the golf sole. Wonderful boots, comfortable, smart, long lasting.

    Sander's and Tricker's don't have any connection to each other as far as manufacturing goes except that they are both located in Northampton. Northampton is the shoe manufacturing capitol of the UK. Sander's factory is on Spencer Road and has been there since their old factory burnt down in 1924. Tricker's factory is on St. Michael's Rd and has been in operation since 1904

    these things are immense - they take a bit of (controlled) wearing in but the workmanship and quality of materials is absolutely top drawer and if you look after them there is no reason they wont last a lifetime. Getting the right socks is absolutely essential though and will be the key to satisfaction versus frustration - for those of us with fussy feet anyway....

    I own a pair of Tricker’s Bourton shoes and I can honestly say that they’re the most sturdy, best quality shoes I own. They’re incredible. Of all the shoes and boots I own they’re the ones I reach for most. They just make me smile.

      I like having Stows because the extra leather can be shown off. Almost everyone I ask to feel/grab the leather is impressed.

    I have a pair of Stows in Espresso MC Nasters leather (whatever that is). I really think Tricker's are underappreciated, at least in the US. I absolutely love mine. They are made extremely well and are very comfortable.

    I believe that the fit 6 Trickers are their wide size. The fit 5 is their version of a standard D. The Maltons are the wider version of the country boot. They’re quite nice.

    I have a rare pair of Frostwick longwings, don't think Trickers do this model any longer and its a shame. Also have acorn stow and love them, the leather is sold but is supple as you say. Its a pleasure cleaning them, so they will last a long time.

    • @wooxstar
      @wooxstar ปีที่แล้ว

      My first pair of Trickers were the Froswick Longwing. Sadly I didn't research the last fitting properly (4444) and should've half sized down. 8 years, they're still boxed in the cupboard. I really should put them up for sale!

    • @kapucinski
      @kapucinski ปีที่แล้ว

      The Froswick was made exclusively for Herrings and it is such a pity that Tricker’s make so few longwings.
      They are lovely when they do.

    one thing that sets the Trickers aside (other than the quality that is outstanding) is the toe punching detail on trickers shoes/boots its unique to the brand. Those that know can spot this from some distance. It starts lower to the front of the boot & closer to the welt than other similar shoe makers

    The Malton is the stow on steroids. It has the commando it’s hide sole and the storm welt is waxed as well for a more waterproof boot. Almost all the English footwear is made in Northampton, the footwear Mecca of England. I recently purchased both the brown nut Dublin stow and the navy cxl stow from @divisionroad and they replaced my Malton. However after this video I think I want the Malton again but in the right size. Lol absolutely awesome job my brother!!!! Wear them in good health and they look amazing on you!!!! Cheers!!!

  • @j.mahoney1178

    I'm not a fan of Trickers, give me Crockett & Jones over Trickers, the Crockett & Jones are much better-looking boots with better style and fit, the same applies for Barker Brogues.

    • @kapucinski
      @kapucinski ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Barker's are not in the same league as either Tricker's or Crockett & Jones. Also, not all of Barker's shoes are made in Northampton any longer, many are manufactured in India.

    • @j.mahoney1178
      @j.mahoney1178 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kapucinski Hahaha! I have owned and still do own many of the leading British-made boots and I can personally say you are 100% wrong, Joseph Cheaney also makes a better boot than Trickers, all their brogue boots mostly only come in wide G caveman wide foot fitting, not a boot I would ever contemplate buying myself far too many better options.
      th-cam.com/video/0DppC79lKP4/w-d-xo.html

    • @kapucinski
      @kapucinski ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@j.mahoney1178 I also own many pairs of boots and shoes from these brands. My Cheaney’s fit like a glove and are very comfortable, but are not built to quite the same standard as Tricker’s. I can’t fault them though, and Cheaney are one of the only manufacturers still making a high quality Veldtschoen construction soled boot.
      I agree that Crockett & Jones are slightly higher quality ( and I would absolutely love to own a pair of Snowdons, also a Veldtschoen construction ) but they are more expensive.
      As for your comment about most Tricker’s boots only coming in a wide fitting, this is absolutely untrue. Most Tricker’s come in a 5 width, which is a standard fitting, and a few models in a 6 (the G you refer to).
      Maybe you dislike Tricker’s for one reason or another, that is your prerogative, but that doesn’t make them a lesser boot. They are one of the best brands available and my oldest pair, around 30 years old, look like I bought them a year ago.
      Your comment that others are a better style and fit is purely subjective.
