Masque Milano seems to be doing it right, the recently introduced Lost Alice took 26 months to create while new houses dump 10-20 bottles at once.

Yes, they certainly seem to take their time with releases.

I have Russian Tea from Masque Milano. I picked it up just before the bottle change over from Twisted Lily.
Picked it up , with discount and price reduction for just over $60 . Love bottle change overs.
I've read the comments on Russian Tea, and most all say it's just smoke or leather in the opening.
Hardly anyone mentions that sweet raspberry in the opening . It's kinda hard not to notice.
Most will say about the darker aspects of Russian Tea, but there's a transition before you get there.
Then it's there . That black tea that's been steeping tea leafs that are at the bottom of a pot or kettle .
It's a little bitter , slightly acrid, and kinda weird.
I have sampled L'Tessa . I have smelled the use of violet like that in other perfumes.
Masque's is almost Victorian to me.
The notes stand stoic and alone , by themselves if you will.
    Notes from a widows peak.
Oh, there was this perfume house that hailed from NYC who specialized in using formulas that Victorians used to
make perfume. Tweed was one perfume that I remember . Fun to sample , but not to wear.
Think of Tweed clothes stored in a Victorian closet.
They had one I did like , and a leather one that was very different , think of a newly cleaned old boot.
Twisted Lily carried them also, back then .
I do miss the days of when Stamatis and Eric ran the boutique .
Nicely run specials on sampling all the time , of very different perfumes.
Stamatis helped me with using and understanding PayPal . I think that was back in 2015.
Stamatis helped me score a couple roller ball sets from Mona's when the bottle change over was about to take place.
    Incredible roller balls. Seriously.
I picked up Mona's Vetyver & her Vanille . Her Vetyver is very nice.
Didn't care for her Cuir though. Cigarette ash .
I have a bottle of Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather for that whole cigar ash.
Can't wear Tuscan Leather in the heat.
Goes kinda dirty khaki cigar infused pants that have been sitting on a leather bar stool for to long.
I miss the old days, even if it wasn't that long ago, where perfumers took chances , and boutiques
offered you specials that would let you sample those creations.
Now we seem to be in the Eros Era of Errors in the perfume industry,
where you can only smell like simple candied candles and clean fresh white linen sheets.
You know the argument about art either moving culture forward , or it being just a refection of it,
well I hope it's neither here with perfume industry these days.
I would like to think it's more along the lines of the errors of the aroma chemical companies,
and their policies for a safe and insanely mundane world.
Well I went off on a tangent again.
I was going to just comment on how I did enjoy Masque Milano's Hemingway .
    That's me Persolaise .
Please keep us smelling unique and defyingly definitely different.

This was so interesting! Love Kills was one of my favorite blind buys last year. Interesting, because I didn’t like it at 1st. It was like my nose had to learn to understand this perfume. The longer I wear it during the day, the more I like it. I need to get the discovery set!

Am I the onle one tired of companies raving about how they source, and how costly their naturals are, when we all know that fragrances today are 99% synthetic..... argh

    • @Persolaise

There is more to perfume than what you find at the local mall, by that i mean crappy designer fragrances.

    • @vmendonc
      @vmendonc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@michaelstevenson9648 since you "seem" to be so knowledgeable about perfume, I suggest you look into IFRA restrictions before assuming that what you pay in "niche" perfumery is for quality naturals.

    • @michaelstevenson9648
      @michaelstevenson9648 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@vmendonc Synthetic/aroma chemicals can be very expensive also. With that said it is nowhere near accurate to state that 99% of the ingredients in niche fragrances are synthetic. A balance between naturals and synthetic is ideal for any great perfume.
I, don't need to do research into IFRA to know that many of my best niche perfumes are very good value for money, if not exceptional.
Not all aroma chemicals are of the same value cost wise.
Don't try and suggest that your run of the mill designers use the same materials as Xerjoff would, or Profumum Roma.
You get what you pay for generally speaking.

Fascinating interview! I fell in love with Lost Alice at first sniff and that love grew as the fragrance developed. It’s an amazing scent, totally on brief, and addictive. I cannot wait for Mackenzie Reilly’s next contribution to the line. I’ve also fallen for L’Attesa and Ray-Flection so far.
