God I love that Sturm's power flash is nothing except the GIANT RED TEXT SCROLLING BEHIND HIM THAT READS "METEOR STRIKE". WF knew nothing sold the menace of that ability harder than the name itself. Helps that Sturm's VA just leaned RIGHT the fuck into the delivery of it.
I love how the power activation themes aren't just all in the styles of the characters' theme songs, but in some cases like Sami or Colin or Jess' you can actually hear bits of the melody or riffs from their theme mixed in too.

A part of me kinda hopes that the Reboot Camp does well enough to warrant something new down the line. I wouldn't mind personally if Dual Strike was skipped over for a new sequel... but I would desperately want Dual Strike Jess. The difference between Jess in AW 2 and DS is staggering.
Turning the corny Advance Wars 1 power jingle into leitmotif incorporating each CO's theme was genius. I kinda wish the AW2 power activation jingle prior to this matched the faction of the CO though.
While I like the animations I do wish they had different ones for their super power as opposed to their regular, though that is heavily me just wanting more lol
I love the dynamic shading that comes up during eagle's power from the flash of lightning. Also find it kinda funny how Hawke gets no such treatment despite having similar lightning effects, lol
Game needed full voice acting (and some better VA's for some) and an actual online mode.. but still it's an amazing game and i'm absolutely enjoying it.

I have to say, as much as I enjoy and really appreciate the effort and extra miles we got from the VA's; I'm not sure if it's my ears but I feel as though there's a lack of "energy" behind these voices when I hear some of these CO Power quotes, like some of them are literally just reading the title of the CO Power off a script, rather then powerful voice behind it. For some of the CO's anyway, not all of them.
I feel the same way. I think just reciting the name of the CO power was a mistake. They probably should have had the voice actors say some kind of catch phrase or battle cry that they could get more energy behind.
He having a low cost co power that gives you more movement can catch the opponents off guard so often that it makes it into a really good skill. I like him more now for the laught he does. Lmao

Love the fact that a lot of them have different fonts and animations for even the regular and super co powers, yes some like drake have the same but it’s still a cool detail for most of them
Eagle and Hawke sound *_way_* older than what they look like, and Lash's comes off as weirdly dry, but everyone else sounds pretty much fine otherwise -- with my favorites being Olaf, Jess, Flak, Adder (obviously) and Sturm. Animations-wise, the OG's highlights weren't much to look at to begin with anyway, but WayForward being WayForward obviously means they wouldn't remake the graphics just decently enough regardless -- as such, even if in retrospect it's not that surprising, the waifu/husbando levels from all the COs are absolutely off the charts here; expect the wars between fans to be the bloodiest things you've seen yet.
The only one I didn't like is STURM. He looks WAY 2 emotional. I feel him more like an unstoppable object that can kill you with his gaze as he looks at you as if you are nothing more than a simple worm.
Animation is amazing, but they could have handled the voicelines better. They feel squished into the last second, and they could have timed it better for the animation (instead of limply sticking it to the very end). It also feels more like they're reading off a script instead of calling out super moves. Of course none of these criticisms apply to Adder

Basically it's a reverse Sturm if played in Advance Wars 2 style. He has no Super Co Power but his normal power works the same as it does in advance wars 1 (units gain 10% to Attack and Defense), compared to Andy's hyper repair that functions under advance wars 2 rules (units gain 10% but only for defense).
So basically the only later cos that are missing are Sasha, that French guy, and rocker kid whos name i allways forget along with whats her names little sister who would call missile strikes all Over the screen
Animation is great, and the voiceover is alright. Sure, it's nice the music adjusts to fit their theme songs, but... I'm disappointed that it's all just the same single COP music. The SCOP music from the OG was heroic and got me pumped up. The Black Hole SCOP music was utterly the bomb. Hearing that number wind up whenever Sturm used his Meteor Strike used to always strike terror into me. It always felt like I was truly well frakked, even if I was cheesing the meteor. And when any other BH CO used a SCOP, it was still pretty nerve wracking.
Man, I love all the personality in these characters in this game as somebody who is playing Advance Wars for the first time. But I have to say, I'm not overly fond of certain voice choices. Not because they're not suited necessarily, but more because when I hear their voice, I'm distracted by who they are instead of the character themselves. It was REALLY bad in the beginning of the AW1 campaign when I recognized Andy, Max AND Olaf immediately.

Man, I love all the personality in these characters in this game as somebody who is playing Advance Wars for the first time.
But I have to say, I'm not overly fond of certain voice choices. Not because they're not suited necessarily, but more because when I hear their voice, I'm distracted by who they are instead of the character themselves. It was REALLY bad in the beginning of the AW1 campaign when I recognized Andy, Max AND Olaf immediately.
