This video brings back memories of my travels in Xinjiang 11 years ago-a truly sweet and precious time. It was during that trip I met my husband, and now, we're expecting our first child. Xinjiang is not the most convenient destination for travelers, even for Chinese like me. I miss Xinjiang so badly. I hope you've had great time there.
Since you guys were debating about lamb and sheep, I will add mutton to the discussion. Lamb is a SHEEP up to 12 months old. A mutton is a SHEEP older than 12 months. Both lamb and mutton are sheep! 😉
I love that you explore both the touristy and non-touristy local places and your video shows different perspectives of a country. I’m touched to learn the story of the park. And wow Tianshan Tianchi - what a beautiful place!
Exploring life in Urumqi and the Uyghur region of Xinjiang is truly eye-opening! The rich cultural heritage, unique traditions, and the everyday lives of the people are beautifully captured. Your insights and experiences offer a profound glimpse into a region that's both complex and fascinating. Thank you for shedding light on this incredible journey! 🌏❤
It's good to see you guys back in China Really enjoyed your last series over there. hope to see some great videos this time around as well. Best wishes from Bangladesh.

You two are so soulmate, both of you are so calm and peaceful, I really like you two. so gentleman and elegant lady. and the way of lady saying Chinese is sooo cute. followling you to see more of your videos , thanks!!!
23:18 It is such a great community bonding exercise to achieve something meaningful like that. Bet those people living there will always recall to their families how they were a part of that greening initiative each time they climb up that mountain there.
Love love this vlogg❤❤❤ so interesting. Salivating at all the goodies spread on the street. So healing to see the beautiful lake area. Thank you Flora & Note🌹🫶
We were here just a couple of weeks ago! Loved Xinjiang, and not to mention the food. I could eat nang for every meal and still not be bored of it. Thanks for sharing, I hope to see more of your travels in Xinjiang 🥰
@@FloraandNote the whole trip was incredible, we did 7 days and ended up driving over 2500km 😂 I’m a sucker for mountains so loved Hemu, Kanas, and the areas up north. The Tianshan mountains were beautiful too like Sayram Lake and we stayed in the most gorgeous farm stay nearby which I never wanted to leave. It’s going to be hard to top that trip!!
Flora and Note I'm glad to see you both back in China. The city of Urumqi looks so devise with different cultures of people. Flora and Note I would love to see you both visit Hong Kong again in the future.
Wow, another amazing video with interesting content. Wonderful to see you guys trying all those delicious food and snacks in Urumqi. I truly enjoy tagging along with you both to those lively bazaars, local markets and that stunning Tianchi Lake. Wow, those snowcapped mountains are gorgeous. Haha...what a way to eat sunflower seeds ...indeed a great experience !! Thank you very much for bringing me/us to this part of China.
Definitely not the easiest places to explore! Appreciate your courage and patience with all the challenges you face with these off the beaten path travels!
Talking of language, my wife was waking through Soho, Chinatown, London when she heard 2 girls speaking Thai. She turned around and was doubting herself as it was 2 Indian girls. So out of curiosity she asked them what language were they speaking. They confirmed it was Thai, they were born in Bangkok!
32:55 the picture is sooo beautiful! If it was a sunny day, the only thing you can see in the photo is two black shadows from where you are standing. A cloudy day also has its advantages.
I simply love your Central Asia and Xinjiang travel series! More please! Love your adventures and experiences. Sooo exotic and rich in culture these destinations are
12:52 I can’t count how many times I say this but again: any weird or strict regulations in China came from tragedies filled with blood. There used to be enough terrorism attacks less than 2 decades ago
I've traveled a lot in China back in the day when I lived there, but not to Western China. I always wanted to go there. I am so glad I get to watch you guys visit the area. It's beautiful there. I love your channel. You guys are awesome!
Another great video. As a electric car enthusiast I noticed that most of the license plates on the cars there are blue and not green. Which means not very many electric cars in that area, it's so different than areas like Guangzhou. It looks like an area I would love to visit someday though. Looking forward to your next videos. 😊
I don’t like joining tour groups and I don’t drive, your video is a great example for how to travel around Xinjiang by public transportation, thank you ❤
I can see why the US government as put a level 3 alert against visiting Xinjiang/or China in general. Too much delicious food is dangerous af and you may gain weight coming back from your trip. Enjoy your travels! BTW, the reason for the armored vehicles and strict security was because between 2000 to late 2010s there were a string of terrorists attacks by Muslim juhadist. These people did not discriminate and terrorized various areas of XJ/Yunnan/etc regardless if you were Han, Uyghur, Kazachs, etc. You can research on youtube for more information, including even videos of the attacks. The US had these extreme terrorists on their terror list until 2018/2019 when Mike Pompeo removed them from the list and coincidentally when the whole "Uyghur genocide" narrative started strengthening throughout the internet. Keep in my that the World Uyghur Congress which leads this movement is funded by Washington.
Hello friends. It's great that you visited the wonderful place of Urumqi. It's very beautiful there. I'm from Uzbekistan, I like your videos. Visit Uzbekistan someday, you will really like the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and wonderful Khorezm.
Shiiiiiiiiiid....... of course, after a trip in Central Asia, heading to XinJiang is a great choice. How I never thought of that? Maybe in my mind XinJiang is so huge that I just wanna do a single trip or more to specifically experience every aspect of it

Love how you went straight to delicious food when going back to China :). Welcome to Xinjiang! It also has a vast and beautiful landscape. The scenery of Kanas lake in Altay region in northern Xinjiang is very nice at this time of year in autumn.
Did you guys take a train or plane to Urumqi? You live in Thailand; you could ship it there cheaply. The blue vest looks stunning on Flora. The chipmunks look the same as here in USA.
Great Video!! Flora you looked especially pretty (always pretty) in that dark shirt. Swy mak. I was very surprised to see the different people in the town. I probably missed this but what part of China are you in (north, south etc?) I need to have a map out of China. I was scared when you got in that dark bus!!😂 The mountains in the last part of your video were so Beautiful. Take care of yourselves and Thank you!❤️❤️🙏

Hahaha how did we BOTH manage to not know that 😂
Just remember mutton/old dressed as lamb/young. 😅😅
Unless you’re in India where mutton is goat!
oh now i know haha

The security is very strict in that bazaar because in 2009 there was a riot there resulting in hundreds of civilian deaths.
