  • Table top review of one of my Bob Marvel 1911’s. In the video I talk over features of the gun and why this gun is one of my all time favorite guns.

    I have done 2 of Bobs classes in Crete. 1st one I did was a government 45 in Craig’s/Snyders customs school house. 2nd was a 4.3in Marvel Model I did at bobs home with 2 piece cone barrel. I own multiple nighthawks, atlas, staccatos, Infinities, and sadly none of them come close to reliability and accuracy of the ones I built under Bobs tutelage. It upsets me how much people in the industry don’t give Bob credit for his designs, ideas, etc. to include Joe Chambers.

    an absolutely perfectly executed of a Classic. A Marvel is the very top tier of perfection. I can't imagine how such a treasure ended up in a Huston Pawn Shop. Almost Sacrilege.
    Thank you for the opportunity to see such a fine example of Marvel's work.

    Bob trained some of nighthawks gunsmiths, also I was in his shop a while back , he was training 2 young men from STI on building 2011s he has been my mentor also! He is the ultimate authority on 1911s

    Truly the most beautiful 1911 I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing. I wouldn't dare put that in a holster... even for a barbecue . I'd have that in a glass box guarded by laser beams :) !

    Would love to hear some more history. Seems like there is a lot of knowledge out there on these guns but one has to know where to look. 1911 bug has taken hold me about a year ago. Can’t go back to a polymer gun now. Loved the video. If you could put out some more like this with deep dives on the builders/companies I think we could all benefit greatly. Nice to know where we came from. I’m sure I’ve already asked for book suggestions at one point or another

      Actually when it comes to a lot of the custom guys, there isn’t a ton of info floating around. The data and history I’ve build has all come from personal research and inspection. There are people out there with a lot of knowledge, but it’s held close to the vest... and getting it isn’t exactly easy. With that said, outside of folks who have collected custom 1911’s for a long time, I’d bet I have more full boat Marvels in the stable than almost anyone. I’m always willing to share, I’m always willing to contribute... stay tuned for more info and video in terms of my collection! Hopefully you enjoy them and subscribe/share!!

    I know nothing about 1911s, but I've got to say that I'm intrigued. That's one really beautiful pistol. Do you know whether Mr. Marvel ever made a 1911 in 10 mm? Thanks for the vid. It was fun to watch.

    • @bobby_cee
      @bobby_cee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure at some point Bob build a 10mm! That said, I’ve not seen one so I can’t say 100% for sure. Appreciate you stopping by and watching the video!!

    Thanks for sharing. Good information// /
    2 thing though--friendly comments- which are 2 things----1. for guns this rare and nice Ièd be VERY selective of whom I tell and let shoot....for SECURITY reasons. ..likewise revealing your appearance on YT...not sotmhing I would do....even if i were making a YT video about Glocks. ...TWO--becasue your guns are so rare maybe in upcoming videos you could talk to a buddy who is a 'good photographer'--so he can better 'showoff' your guns--understnad product placement in relation to th camera, how to move a product in front of a camra for the audience, lighting,.....becasue people with no pthotogrpahy background end up ....NOT showing the produce. :)) e.g. you say 'Hammer' move gun to display hammer for 1 eond then moe...audice will miss it..need to 'pause for 3 seconds"--videogrphy tip......when you sy trigger the caera should zeeom IN..etc. ) ..sometimes the lens goes out of focus and you might not now...heh...etc. i mean if youève spent the money you hae on the guns i think it would also be worth spending money hiring a professional 'product phtoographerÈ....

      Thx for the details, the thing is, i just show them as most have never seen actual work by a lot of the smiths I post work from. I’m not looking to make money off a YT channel etc. I’ve also done extensive write ups and photographers on forums like 1911addicts on almost all these 1911’s.

      Actually bob likes 9mm better than .45 in a 1911 remember they were chambered for 38 super just like the Thompson machine gun
