      @@JeremiahMcintosh How do you find the geometry in terms of the how far forward the seat is compared to the pedals? I had the XP 2. 0 Step Thru and found the seat too far forward which made you feel like you were on a Unicycle with the pedals right under your seat. Even with the seat all the way back & raised, my thighs and knees were cramped I I felt a lay back seat post would be needed. Pedaling didn't feel natural in this position and required more effort and caused more strain. (5ft9, 185lb, 40 year old rider) I couldn't get good leg extension with seat raised and moved to the rear. My other ebikes felt more natural in terms of relationship between pedals and seat. I felt the folding nature of the XP 2.0 caused them to have the seat post angle too verticle above the pedals instead of further back.

    Another great review by Jerimiah. He really doesn't leave anything out. I bought my black 2.0 lectric based on his reviews and dropped him a PM about it which he was kind enough to take the time to respond to. Love the bike. Excellent reviews from a person you can trust. Thanks again for the great work!

    Yep, I agree. A 750 watt motor and the 24 amp controller on the XP 3.0 would be the sweet spot. I dont like seeing comparable folding bikes beat the Lectric in hill climbs. They are too good of a company for that!

    Wow, that is a great value..The fact that you can go 20 mph in pedal assist one, and draw only 4 amps, should allow for a massive range, with throttle only, the software is the most impressive aspect of this bike and I'm certain it will be copied by other manufacturers...That is really a game changer..On all other bikes, to get the best range, you would need to go very slow..With good hydraulic brakes and only weighing 61 pounds, and all the add ons, it's an engineering master piece...This may be the perfect platform for my solar bike..I have some great ideas for this bike..

    i wouldn't mind the upgraded motor and controller on my 2.0, but yeah imo the next (4.0) should use the better motor and controller, if possible. but i am unsure if the original 2.0 battery could handle the higher output, as the controller in it only pulls 18 amps on the screen.
    what i will miss is the ability to pull full power from the throttle, i still would like to have full throttle control even in pas 0, as i remember that was a feature on one of your other bikes.
    having the ability to make changes like this in the controller would be great, having more options is never a bad thing imo. you can always choose to not use them. but i guess there is always the inclusion of said options costs $, and if you aren't going to use them, why pay for them? but a better controller would still be a plus imo.

    Looks like it could use a suspension seat post. That chain is crazy long, I bet you'd have to join 2 chains together. Interesting bike It would have been nice to see a suspension fork on it. I actually wonder if its even possible to put a suspension fork on it, because the stance of the bike would change, kickstand probably wouldnt touch the ground anymore, etc.

      You can't put front suspension on a bike that can carry 450lbs. It works great at first but unless it's a really good high quality suspension $$$, it won't last long with that much weight.

    Putting that motor in their 3.0 would be the best upgrade ever! Would definitely make me want to purchase one of their e bikes. Only reason I don’t want this xpedition is because it doesn’t fold and is a little too long to make it up my staircase to my apartment. The current motors in the 3.0 is just a little underpowered for me and I’m just going to hold off on buying an e bike until then.

    Hey Jeremiah, really good and thorough review. Since this XPedition Cargo bike doesn't have any suspension, could you tell me what is the diameter of the lower portion of the telescpic seat post? I have replaced the seat on a couple of my e-bikes with the Kinekt Suspension Seat Post and it has been just about one of the best things that I ever did to the bikes. It makes the ride so much more smooth and comfortable!
    I don't know if you have tried one of the Kinekt Suspension Seat Posts, but if you have, could you compare that to one of the Lectric or other brand suspension seat posts that you have tried? I'd say that the only negative thing about the Kinekt Suspension Seat Post is the price, so I'm contemplating if I might want to go with the Lectric or other brand which would be a fair bit less expensive. I'm not really sure what size seat post shim or what length and diameter seat post I would need to purchase as well when purchasing the Kinekt, Lectric or other brand and was wondering if you know what exactly I would need to replace the seat on the XPedition Cargo Bike to a suspension seat post?
    Thanks again for the really great and thorough review of the XPedition, I really enjoyed it as well as all of the other reviews that you have put out.

Another thing, I want the CLOUD 9 SEAT. But the Amazon site your sending us to says, SOLD OUT!! I can buy the seat off another seller but you won't get the credit. I also plan to buy the side mirrors like TODAY!! YOUR SAYING THE ONES IN YOUR DESCRIPTION BELOE WILL FIT THIS BIKE?? Reason I'm asking is. I notice you have the list of favorite accessories in almost every video ive watch on lectric bikes. I dont want to buy something that wont fit this bike, expedition. Here's what I'm wanting like NOW!! MIRRORS, FRONT BASKET, CLOUD 9 SEAT & SUSPENSION SEAT POST. I ALREADY BOUGHT THE BIKE, X2 SEAT PADS & SEAT OFF YOUR SITE. I'm so new to this. The post you would need is the one in the description (31.6mm) but you would also need the shim (31.6 to 34.9) also in the description for it to work with the expedition. My exact seat has been sold out for a while now but if you find it from another seller I’ll still get credit as long you went to amazon through my link. I’ll actually get credit for your entire order no matter what you decide to buy. Make sure you get the correct seat with the hole in the middle because they make a bunch of cloud 9 seats and the comfort is different on all of them. Thanks again for the support!

      The email from lectric says “In addition to hydraulic brakes, we will offer to upgrade your XP 3.0 eBike's programming to the Lectric PWR™ system, providing you with intuitive power delivery and a smooth, natural take-off. Lectric PWR™ also provides a massive boost in the efficiency of your eBike, allowing for more range with a single charge. • @tiger7777
    @tiger7777 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Absolutely, put the same motor in the 3.0
    They are failing the people who buy their bikes, especially since 750w is legal. That is a 33 percent rip-off, although l don't think Lectric are a rip-off. Definitely better prices than Rad. And put the dual battery option on the 3.0 and call it the 4.0. Nice looking bike as is now XPected. Now, when are the Lectric people going to include brake and blinker lights? How is the ride feeling of this longer wheel base XPedition? And when is Lectric coming out with the XPlorer?

    Did it ever make it up the grass hill with throttle only? Also please add a video on the suspension seat post. I emailed Lectric and asked them the diameter of the Xpedition seat post and the reply back was 34.9mm

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t had a chance to try the grassy hill yet it’s just been too wet and muddy here.
      And yes 34.9mm is the correct diameter for the new expedition seat post. In the description of my video, I have a link for the shim that you would need and also some different seat posts. Hope this helps.

  • @seebol

    I normally replace quick-release seatpost collars with Allen key collars, to deter opportunistic seatpost thieves. Would I need two Allen key collars for the Xpedition, or at the seatposts somehow secured against theft?

    • @chow-chihuang4903
      @chow-chihuang4903 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need just one for the one on the seat tube.
      The upper section of the telescoping seat post is prevented from being lifted out of the lower section by a set screw.
      The two sections are prevented from rotating relative to each other by a soft tongue & groove feature, so you need to rotate the lower section or loosen the saddle clamp if your saddle isn’t aligned with the bike. I rotated the lower section as I wanted to align the two quick release clamps. That tongue & groove feature also means you have to replace the entire seatpost if you’re wanting a suspension seatpost.

    What are the bike rack/car carrying possibilities for the Xpedition? It's 80lbs and 73" long.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s only about 60 to 61 pounds if you take the seat and batteries out of it which a lot of bike racks are capable of Hauling. Definitely check the specs of your bike rack to make sure it’s capable of at least that weight.

    Is there a single charge port to charge both batteries simultaneously while installed in the bike? Or do you have to physically unplug the charger from one battery, then plug in another to charge? Do you have to remove the batteries to charge them?

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No you don’t need to remove the batteries to charge them but you do need to plug each one in separately to charge. If you had a second charger you could charge them both at the same time tho and it would be twice as fast.

    Wow! These reviews were incredibly helpful (looking between the 3.0 and the Expedition). Was originally eyeing the 3.0 for the price point and accessories for school/library/grocery runs in our rural area. However, I like a lot of the upgrades to the Expedition in this video that you showed. Can I ask, with the higher weight limit and stronger motor, how does it handle on hills when loaded down--obviously with pedaling? We live in an extremely hilly area and while I'd mostly have myself + kid (~260 pounds and probably using the Shotgun Pro), it'd be amazing to be able to use the bike for myself + spouse + kid (~430 pounds) to go walking at the parks and not have to worry about parking when tourist season rolls around. There are just more than a few hills between here and there.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you don’t need the foldability of the 3.0 then this is a great option! Loaded down to 430lbs would definitely require a lot of human input up hills but it’s hard to say depending on the size of the hill. I would say for you and the kid it would probably be just fine but I wouldn’t be so sure about all three of you and maxing out the weight limit on hills because it probably wouldn’t be good for it long-term.

      @@JeremiahMcintosh Hey, thanks for such a quick response! I took a looksie at the topography maps for my area to see just what I'd be looking at in terms of the different trips. Most of the steeper grades I'd have to deal with are getting out of our neighborhood--12% driveway (which honestly I'm probably going to walk anyway because it's a straight shot, 120' long, and I don't have a deathwish) followed almost immediately by a short, mostly straight 8% then a good flat-ish stretch followed by a curvy 5%. The next big hill would be the park, which is a 7%. Kind of surprised at how mellow those are, to be honest. Thinking about it, most of the big hills are far enough out, that I'd be taking the car for those trips anyway.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you see my second Hill test video I did comparing 26 different bikes? That was a 6° Grade or 10.5% slope.

    • @smileandsaybri
      @smileandsaybri ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Admittedly I only watched the 3.0 video because we were interested in the budget option for school/groceries/library. But then I saw this one and was considering it as an alternative because it would be amazing to have a car-free way to visit the parks during tourist season when the lot fills up so quickly.

      @@JeremiahMcintosh So, we ended up finding someone in our area selling one of their Lectric bikes (a 2.0 Step-Thru) for a discount because they were getting the trike instead for the wife. Basically brand new and under 10 miles. Husband was iffy about all three of us on a cargo bike even without hills, so he was pretty interested in that, especially since the gentleman offered to let us both test ride it. We went tonight and did so. He went first and was pretty much in love. I had a harder start getting out of their driveway (had to walk it back a bit and try again because I didn't want to use the throttle right away) because my knees are in such bad shape, but the PAS makes such a difference! I only even needed it at 1-2 with occasional throttle. I haven't gotten to ride a bike since high school (maybe longer), and it was everything I remembered but better (since my knees were already pretty bad then) thanks to the PAS.
      Thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for your videos and your advice! We're still planning to get a 3.0 for me (probably a step-thru, so that we're using the same batteries on both), so I've still got your channel bookmarked to make sure it uses your referral code. Ditto for your accessories videos, which I've been digging through and looking at the options you recommended. I really appreciate it. Keep on being awesome!

    Not something I need, but a great review. Looking at the XP 2.0 Long Range, hoping here in the near future I can get one ordered. I have a full size no-name mountain bike e-bike, its ok, but it doesn't fold up so it won't fit in my car. The Lectric folding bike would be great for my needs going back and forth to work in good weather, as well as throwing it in the car when I take my car in for service, so I can ride the bike home and back to the shop rather than walk 4-1/2 miles LOL. Even the XP 2.0 Long Range has plenty of range, and a much larger motor than my current bike, which is only a 350 watt or 450 watt motor, can't remember for sure. It struggles a bit on the hills, and the XP 2.0 I think would have enough power to pull a small trailer if I want to, which I plan on getting a trailer of some sort to be able to go grocery shopping.

    So, if you were doing an epic tour day, 50 mi round trip on a nice bike path, and you had a choice of the XP 3.0 with long range battery, XPremium or the Xpedition, what would you choose? Why?

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      XPedition because it has the biggest battery, the most powerful and the most cargo carrying capabilities. But I would put a good suspension seatpost in it.
