No takers for Kangaroo Flat, revellers heading home from the city. S312 sounds good, a far cry from the heady days of working the Spirit of Progress and "Jet" super freights...😋
I wonder if SSR will lease more of the N classes once the Warrnambool line becomes velocity hauled next month? Now that V/Line has confirmed that N classes will be removed from passenger service by the end of next year. It looks like SSR will snatch up the N class, P class and Y class.
@Merri-bekRailfan Hah Hahaaaa. Noooo. They've got 3 Working T's, 1 More eventually when it is fixed plus the P classes which will do shunting just as well as a Y.
@@bigman4225Ts and Ps will be doing wagon transfers between different yards plus the Ps & Ts are also suitable for mainline fright while Y classes are only suitable for branchline freight and passenger as well as shunting
Great vid
Excellent.
Many thanks!

Current duties only slightly easier I suspect for the old S than slogging up Warrenheip with a Melbourne bound 'jet'

seems like the game plan....
Why would they need a Y Class? Why would you make an 80k train 15km Slower by adding a Y?????
